The ecology, abundance and diversity of galatheoid squat lobsters make them an ideal group to study deep-sea diversification processes. Here, we reconstructed the evolutionary and biogeographic history of Leiogalathea, a genus of circum-tropical deep-sea squat lobsters, in order to compare patterns and processes that have affected shallow-water and deep-sea squat lobster species. We first built a multilocus phylogeny and a calibrated species tree with a relaxed clock using StarBEAST2 to reconstruct evolutionary relationships and divergence times among Leiogalathea species. We used BioGeoBEARS and a DEC model, implemented in RevBayes, to reconstruct ancestral distribution ranges and the biogeographic history of the genus. Our results showed that Leiogalathea is monophyletic and comprises four main lineages; morphological homogeneity is common within and between clades, except in one; the reconstructed ancestral range of the genus is in the Atlantic and Indian oceans (Tethys). They also revealed the divergence of the Atlantic species around 25 million years ago (Ma), intense cladogenesis 15–25 Ma and low levels of speciation over the last 5 million years (Myr). The four Leiogalathea lineages showed similar patterns of speciation: allopatric speciation followed by range expansion and subsequent stasis. Leiogalathea started diversifying during the Oligocene, likely in the Tethyan. The Atlantic lineage then split from its Indo-Pacific sister group due to vicariance driven by closure of the Tethys Seaway. The Atlantic lineage is less speciose compared with the Indo-Pacific lineages, with the Tropical Southwestern Pacific being the current centre of diversity. Leiogalathea diversification coincided with cladogenetic peaks in shallow-water genera, indicating that historical biogeographic events similarly shaped the diversification and distribution of both deep-sea and shallow-water squat lobsters.  相似文献

It is established that insulin enhances the ability of the loach liver plasma membranes to phosphorylate lactate dehydrogenase. In the case of insulin-treated plasma membranes the amount of incorporated 32P is more than 4 times higher than that of the basal level. It is concluded that insulin-stimulated plasma membrane-dependent phosphorylation of the enzyme is one of the possible molecular mechanisms of hormone action on intracellular metabolism.  相似文献

Changes in the transmembrane potential of bovine rod discs were studied by use of the potential-sensitive fluorescence probes diS-C3-(5) and diBA-C4-(5). The disc membrane was shown to be impermeable to potassium ions. Their concentration in the disc is as high as 2.1 +/- 0.3 mM. The permeability of the disc membrane to Ca2+ was shown to be selective. The accumulation and release of Ca2+ were found to be accompanied by the generation of inside positive and inside negative transmembrane potentials, respectively. The uptake of Ca2+ in the discs may operate against the concentration gradient of the ion. The value of the potential developed is directly proportional to the logarithm of free Ca2+ concentration in the medium (delta phi m = 11.2 +/- 1.6 mV at 4.85 microM Ca2+fr). The accumulation of Ca2+ is decreased by sodium ions and totally inhibited by monensin. This indicates that a Na-Ca exchange process participates in Ca2+ uptake of photoreceptor discs.  相似文献

Prostaglandin (PG) I2 and its stable metabolite, 6-keto-PGF1alpha, were tested on the isolated ductus arteriosus from mature fetal lambs. PGI2 relaxed the ductus in high doses (threshold 10(-6)M) and its activity disappeared on standing at room temperature for 30 minutes. 6-keto-PGF1alpha was inactive at all doses. By contrast, PGE2 produced a dose-dependent relaxation over a range between 10(-10) and 10(-6)M. These findings confirm that PGE2 is the most potent ductal relaxant among the known derivatives of arachidonic acid. PGE2 probably maintains ductus patency in the fetus and, together with PGE1, remains the compound of choice in the management of newborns requiring a viable ductus for survival.  相似文献
