Sablefish Anoplopoma fimbria is a deep-sea fish, endemic to the North Pacific Ocean, with continuous range from southern California to the central part of Honshu Island, including the Bering and Okhotsk Seas. It is an important commercial species and a promising object for aquaculture [1, 2]. Compared to the eastern part of the range [3, 4] the population structure of sablefish in Asian waters is poorly studied. It is believed that sablefish goes to the Bering Sea and Pacific waters of Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands from the northeastern Pacific, and Asian waters are its eviction zone [5]. Other authors suggest that replenishment of sablefish off the eastern Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands is not only due to migration of the adult fish from the Bering Sea along the continental slope, but also due to the drift of yearlings by Aleutian current over the American coast [6].  相似文献

The responses of the cortical secondary auditory area (AII) to the non-acoustic stimuli (electrical stimulation of the skin in the vibrissae area and light flash) and their combination with acoustic stimulation (sound click or tone) were studied in experiments on cats anesthetized by kalipsol using extra- and intracellular recording. Of the total number of neurons, 69% of the units generating spike responses to the acoustic stimulation responded to the non-acoustic stimulation too. The responses to the modal-nonspecific stimulation, as a rule, were weak and variable; they were mostly represented by a tonic change in the neuronal discharge frequency. The nonspecific stimulation evoked primary excitatory and inhibitory postsynaptic potentials in 77% and 20% of the examined neurons, respectively. We found that synaptic effects of the nonspecific and specific stimulations interact with each other, ensuring considerable modulation of the latter (mostly a significant facilitation resulting from the EPSP summation and suppression of an inhibitory component of the response to acoustic stimulation). Possible participation of the midbrain reticular formation in the transmission of the modal-nonspecific influences to the cortical neurons is considered; stimulation of this structure evoked responses similar to those evoked by the modal-nonspecific sensory stimuli.Neirofiziologiya/Neurophhysiology, Vol. 26, No. 5, pp. 356–364, September–October, 1994.  相似文献

Altogether 20 patients with aneurysm of the cardiac membranous septum (AMS) were examined. Biplane cineangiocardiography (CACG) of the left ventricle was performed in the left oblique position permitting the detection of AMS in 17.8% of the patients with the suspected interventricular septal defect (IVSD). Heart diseases were observed in all the patients, in 90% they were accompanied by IVSD in the cardiac wall. AMS regular contours and a wide base were signs of true AMS. A narrow base and irregular shape were indicative of false AMS. Slight aortic transposition was noted in 1/4 of the patients with AMS.  相似文献

During acute experiments on 20 cats a comparative study was made of neuronal reaction to a tone, as recorded during the first few hours after administration of Nembutal and after an interval of 10–30 h. No spontaneous activity was seen in 89% of auditory cortex neurons of the anesthetized cats; these produced a sterotyped on- response to the optimal frequency tone. Late neuronal spike discharges at distinct intervals of 100–150 msec appeared in response to the setting up of acoustic stimulation after a brief latent reaction lasting 9–15 msec. It was shown that this stimulation did not produce an off-response in the cortical neurons. When the animals emerged from Nembutal anesthesia, the neurons reacted very differently to the optimal frequency tone. About 76% of the cells produced an on, on-off or off response, while about 21% responded with either tonic spike discharges or total inhibition of these throughout the acoustic stimulation. In unanesthetized cats the vast majority of AI cortical neurons were capable of reacting as long as the stimulus lasted. It is shown how this ability is lost under deep Nembutal anesthetic.A. A. A novel exo-arabinase (GH93, exo-ABN) enzyme produced by the ascomycete Penicillium canescens has been studied. Cloning of the abn1 gene coding for exo-ABN into the recipient P. canescens strain RN3-11-7 yielded recombinant producing strains characterized by a high yield of extracellular exo- ABN production (20–30% of the total amount of extracellular protein). Chromatographic purification yielded a homogenous exo-ABN with a molecular weight of 47 kDa, as shown by SDS-PAGE. The enzyme showed high specific activity towards linear arabinan (117 U/mg) and low specific activity towards branched arabinan and arabinoxylan (4–5 U/mg) and para-nitrophenyl-α-L-arabinofuranoside (0.3 U/mg), whereas arabinogalactan and para-nitrophenyl-α-L-arabinopyranoside, the substrates that contained the pyranose form of arabinose, were not hydrolyzed. Arabinohexaose was the major product of linear arabinan hydrolysis. Exo-ABN had a pH optimum at 5.0 and a temperature optimum at 60°C. The enzyme was stable in a broad pH range (4.0–7.0) and upon heating to 50°C during 180 min. Extensive hydrolysis of linear and branched arabinans by exo- and endo-arabinase mixtures, arabinofuranosidase, and arabinofuran-arabinoxylan hydrolase has been performed. The degree of substrate conversion amounted to 67 and 83% of the maximal possible value, respectively.  相似文献

Multigenic families are widely represented in the genomes of higher plants, and are required for the reliability of cellular functions. Damage of individual genes can be compensated by diverse metabolic alterations, but the exact mechanisms of such compensations still remain not fully understood. Here we present novel data regarding the mechanisms of metabolic compensation in photorespiratory knock-out mutants cat2, cat3 and cat2cat3 of Arabidopsis thaliana, which are lacking activity of catalase isoforms CAT2 and CAT3. It was found that cultivation of the mutants under low light at optimal or increased temperature did not result in any morphological, physiological or biochemical signs of oxidative stress. Each of the mutant lines shows specific features of the compensatory mechanisms. Increased activity of CAT3 isoenzyme was found in the cat2 mutant, whereas cat3 and cat2cat3 demonstrate induction of CAT1, an isoform normally absent in young leaves, as well as activation of peroxidases, namely APX and POD. Comparison of these results and earlier published data revealed that the lack of CAT2 and CAT3 isoforms is compensated by preferential activation of non-enzymatic and enzymatic protection mechanisms, respectively.  相似文献

The results of the last (in the thermonuclear program “Magnetic compression”) MAGO-IX experiment with a plasma chamber including a third compartment designed to compress plasma with a converging liner are presented. An X-ray pulse consisting of an intense peak of 1-μs duration, followed by a low-intensity tail with a duration of more than 10 μs, was recorded. In the MAGO-IX experiment, the neutrons were generated mainly in the third compartment. A neutron yield of 2 × 1012 was obtained. The results demonstrate that the expected compression of preheated plasma in chambers similar to MAGO-IX is promising for achieving thermonuclear ignition.  相似文献
