A quantum-classical model of photoisomerization of the visual pigment rhodopsin chromophore is proposed. At certain (and more realistic) parameter value combinations, the model is shown to accurately reproduce a number of independent experimental data on the photoreaction dynamics: the quantum yield, the time to reach the point of conical intersection of potential energy surfaces, the termination time of the evolution of quantum subsystem, as well as the characteristic low frequencies of retinal molecular lattice fluctuations during photoisomerization. In addition, the model behavior is in good accordance with experimental data about coherence and local character of quantum transition.  相似文献

The incidence of the sewage fly, Psychoda alternata Say, breeding almost free from other insect competitors in a bacteria bed at Huddersfield is examined. Its general seasonal trend is marked by periods of peak output explained on the theory that there are two successions of generations running persistently and alternating with one another. Such behaviour has previously been demonstrated for another sewage fly, Spaniotoma minima , and has been shown to be instituted by irregular temperatures in autumn and spring. In Psychoda alternata a special type of intraspecific competition is set-up in the warmer months when the cycles are rapid, for the larvae of one succession must start life in a bed just depleted of food by the other. Therefore large and small outbursts of the fly tend to alternate. The discharges of solids from the bed have a detailed periodicity corresponding to the alternations in the successions of the fly.  相似文献

Anionic channelrhodopsin slow ChloC was expressed in the culture of nerve cells and in vivo in mouse brain. We demonstrated ability of slow ChloC to suppress effectively the activity of the neuron in response to the illumination with the visible light. It has been shown for a first time that slow ChloC works equally efficiently in both neuronal culture and in the whole brain being expressed in vivo. Thus, slow ChloC could be considered as an effective optogenetic tool capable in response to light stimulation to inhibit the generation of action potentials in the neuron.  相似文献

The nervous system structure was compared for the first time in avicularia and vibracula in seven species of the cheilostome bryozoans from six families by immunohistochemical methods and confocal scanning microscopy. Regardless of significant differences in heterozooid shape, size, and position in a colony, their muscular and nervous systems have a common structure, which suggests their parallel evolution.  相似文献

The anatomical structure of internal sacs for embryonic incubation was studied using SEM and light microscopy in three cheilostome bryozoans-Nematoflustra flagellata (Waters,1904), Gontarella sp., and Biflustra perfragilis MacGillivray, 1881. In all these species the brood sac is located in the distal half of the maternal (egg-producing) autozooid, being a conspicuous invagination of the body wall. It consists of the main chamber and a passage (neck) to the outside that opens independently of the introvert. There are several groups of muscles attached to the thin walls of the brood sac and possibly expanding it during oviposition and larval release. Polypide recycling begins after oviposition in Gontarella sp., and the new polypide bud is formed by the beginning of incubation. Similarly, polypides in brooding zooids degenerate in N. flagellata and, sometimes, in B. perfragilis. In the evolution of brood chambers in the Cheilostomata, such internal sacs for embryonic incubation are considered a final step, being the result of immersion of the brooding cavity into the maternal zooid and reduction of the protecting fold (ooecium). Possible reasons for this transformation are discussed, and the hypothesis of Santagata and Banta (Santagata and Banta1996) that internal brooding evolved prior to incubation in ovicells is rejected.  相似文献

Here we compile and analyze the data on photoaggregation of a model protein carboanhydrase and the main eye lens proteins α-, β-, γ-crystallins under the action of pulsed UV irradiation from a Xe-Cl laser (308 nm) with broad variation of pulse energy density and repetition rate. The aggregation efficacy proves to be a nonlinear function of these parameters and protein concentration. A theoretical model is proposed that qualitatively explains the experimental data. It is shown that N-arm-truncated βA3-crystallin is more prone to UV-induced aggregation than the full-sized protein; such defects caused by mutation or aging may aggravate the development of lenticular opacity. Analyzed is the effect of some low-molecular compounds on the aggregation of β-crystallin and its mixture with α-crystallin. A combination of short peptides prepared on this basis markedly impedes crystallin aggregation and retards the development of UV-induced cataract in rats.  相似文献
