Biospecific chromatography of lipolytic enzymes and methods for determining their activity

The review concerns application of affinity chromatography for isolation of phospholipases and lipases, as well as the methods for determining their activities. Main emphasis is laid on the preparation of biospecific supports with lipid ligands as well as on development of new methods for assaying lipolytic activity.     

Morphofunctional characteristics of murine kidneys in single and fractionated irradiation in air and hypoxia (8% of O2)]

The protective effect of hypoxic gas mixture containing 8% of oxygen (HGM-8) has been studied in long terms after local single and fractional X-ray irradiation of the kidney in mice. Some criteria of injury shown that hypoxia protects the kidneys against irradiation, changes in irradiation dose constituting 1.25-1.33. When passing from single irradiation to five-fold daily one, the protective effect of hypoxia does not fall significantly.     

Physical mechanisms for reduction of the breakdown voltage in the circuit of a rod lightning protector with an opening microswitch

The effect of air gap breakdown voltage reduction in the circuit with an opening microswitch is substantiated from the physical point of view. This effect can be used to increase the efficiency of lightning protection system with a rod lightning protector. The processes which take place in the electric circuit of a lightning protector with a microswitch during a voltage breakdown are investigated. Openings of the microswitch are shown to lead to resonance overvoltages in the dc circuit and, as a result, efficient reduction in the breakdown voltage in a lightning protector-thundercloud air gap.
