Data on the species composition and quantitative distribution of ichthyoplankton, zooplankton, and jelly fish macroplankton from different areas of the Crimean Peninsula shelf zone in July 2010 are presented. It has been shown that the structure of species composition and the maximum abundance of ichthyoplankton are comparable to those in July 1988, i.e., until negative changes in the ecosystem of the Black Sea shelf, which took place in the 1990s. The average abundance of ichthyoplankton in July 2010 corresponds to the lowest long-term data obtained in July 1950s and 1960s. The effect produced by organochlorine contaminants and by the abundance of jelly fish macroplankton on the survival of pelagic fish eggs and fish larvae is studied. The prevalence of juvenile copepods in the guts of fish larvae, as well as the low proportion of fish larvae with empty stomachs (<10%), if compared to the data obtained in the 1990s (50–90%), point to the favorable trophical conditions for fish larvae in the area of investigation.  相似文献

Although the grey seal Halichoerus grypus is one of the most familiar and intensively studied of all pinniped species, its global population structure remains to be elucidated. Little is also known about how the species as a whole may have historically responded to climate‐driven changes in habitat availability and anthropogenic exploitation. We therefore analysed samples from over 1500 individuals collected from 22 colonies spanning the Western and Eastern Atlantic and the Baltic Sea regions, represented by 350 bp of the mitochondrial hypervariable region and up to nine microsatellites. Strong population structure was observed at both types of marker, and highly asymmetrical patterns of gene flow were also inferred, with the Orkney Islands being identified as a source of emigrants to other areas in the Eastern Atlantic. The Baltic and Eastern Atlantic regions were estimated to have diverged a little over 10 000 years ago, consistent with the last proposed isolation of the Baltic Sea. Approximate Bayesian computation also identified genetic signals consistent with postglacial population expansion across much of the species range, suggesting that grey seals are highly responsive to changes in habitat availability.  相似文献

Endangered Sonoran (Antilocapra americana sonoriensis) and Peninsular (A. a. peninsularis) pronghorn persist largely because of captive breeding and reintroduction efforts. Recovery team managers want to re-establish pronghorn in their native range, but there is currently uncertainty regarding the subspecies status of extinct pronghorn populations that historically inhabited southern California, USA, and northern Baja California, Mexico. To address this uncertainty, we genotyped museum specimens and conducted phylogenetic and population genetic analyses of historical data in the context of 3 contemporary pronghorn populations. The historical northern Baja California pronghorn share the most ancestry with contemporary Peninsular pronghorn, whereas pronghorn in southern California share more ancestry with contemporary American (A. a. americana) pronghorn. For reintroductions into northern Baja California, the Peninsular subspecies is more appropriate based on museum genetic data. For reintroductions into Southern California, ecological and genetic factors are both important, as the subspecies most genetically related to historical populations (American) may not be well-adapted to the hot, low-elevation deserts of the reintroduction area. © 2019 The Wildlife Society.  相似文献

Data from the literature on the ability of microorganisms to form plant hormones have been reviewed. The substances covered include abscisic acid, ethylene and other compounds with phytohormone-like properties (brassinosteroids, oligosaccharines) and analogues of animal neurotransmitters (biogenic amines). Pathways whereby the substances are metabolized and their effects on the development and activity (physiological and biochemical) of the microorganisms are considered. The role of phytohormones and hormone-like substances in the formation of association (microorganism-host) interactions are analyzed. The potential utilities of microorganisms producing hormones and hormone-like substances are discussed.  相似文献

The ability of pro-and eukaryotic microorganisms to synthesize growth-stimulating phytohormones is reviewed, with emphasis on the pathways of biosynthesis of these compounds and their effects on the physiological and biochemical properties of the producers. Phytohormones are viewed as specific mediators in interactions between various organisms inhabiting the same ecological niche, the biological role of which is not limited to processes taking place in plants. In addition to setting forth the theoretical aspects of this problem, the review underscores the need to utilize such producer microorganisms in plant cultivation and biotechnology  相似文献

Semax (MEHFPGP) was shown to increase gastric mucosal homeostasis to the action of such ulcerogenic factors as ethanol and stress. In the case of the stress model of ulcer formation, Semax and its two metabolites—HFPGP and FPGP—at the wide range of doses (0.06–3.7 μmol/kg) have demonstrated protective antiulcerogenic properties. In the case of ethanol model of ulcer formation, only Semax in two used doses (0.06 and 0.37 μmol/kg) reported reliable protective antiulcerogenic property. It was supposed that Semax’s gastroprotective activity directed to peripheral mechanisms of ulcerogenesis did not depend on its metabolites’ activities. On the contrary, Semax’s gastroprotective activity directed to the central mechanisms of ulcerogenesis might be also caused by gastroprotective activities of HFPGP and FPGP metabolites.  相似文献

Two isoforms of malate dehydrogenase (MDH), dimeric and tetrameric, have been found in the purple non-sulfur bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides strain 2R, devoid of the glyoxylate shunt, which assimilate acetate via the citramalate cycle. Inhibitory analysis showed that the 74-kDa protein is involved in tricarboxylic acid cycle, while the 148-kDa MDH takes part in the citramalate pathway. A single gene encoding synthesis of the isologous subunits of the MDH isoforms was found during molecular-biological investigations. The appearance in the studied bacterium of the tetrameric MDH isoform during growth in the presence of acetate is probably due to the increased level of mdh gene expression, revealed by the real-time PCR, the product of which in cooperation with the citramalate cycle enzymes plays an important role in acetate assimilation.  相似文献
