The content of total lipids, total phospholipids, and fatty acids of total lipids in muscles and liver of juvenile Lake Baikal sympatric coregonid fishes have been analyzed for the first time under a common garden experiment. Baikal omul, Coregonus migratorius Georgi, is an active migrant of the pelagic zones of the lake. Baikal (lacustrine) whitefish, C. baicalensis Dybowski, is a colonizer of the bottom habitats, which are relevant to the pelagic zones of the littoral and underwater slope. Structural lipids (phospholipids and cholesterol) dominated in total lipids of the tissues of all fish under study. Spare lipids significantly prevailed in omul muscles when compared to whitefish. The highest variability of fatty acid composition was reported in muscles of coregonid fishes. Statistically significant differences were revealed in the content of the ω3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in muscles of lacustrine whitefish and omul. Associations of lipid compositions revealed in tissues of the whitefishes under the study with their respective ecotypes have been discussed.  相似文献

A morphological study of forty-eight 3-4-day old embryos from eight females of the water vole (Arvicola terrestris L.) was carried out. The data obtained demonstrated that early embryonic losses in the water vole might be 30?C35%, and the main cause of these losses is anomalies of oogenesis.  相似文献

It is shown that BR and intermediate products of its phototransformation P600, P550 and P415 (the maximum at -196 degrees C at 419 nm) are not paramagnetic. Illumination of samples containing P415 (P419) at -- 196 degrees C with light in the region of 360-480 nm results in the formation of paramagnetic centres with a sunglet spectrum deltaH=18 Oe and g=2.002 (R1). In parallel formation of a new photoproduct P421 in the absorption spectrum is observed. During subsequent heating at -140 degrees C formation of an asymmetric signal with deltaH=45 Oe and g=2.006 and g=2.03 was observed. In the absorption spectra a dark transition. P421-P565 was observed under the same conditions. P565 differs from initial BR P570 as to its photochemical properties. R1 is identified as retinal radical, R2 as a peroxide radical of the BR-complex lipids. Paramagnetic, spectral, and photochemical properties of some products of BR transformation are compared. A scheme of oxidative-phosphorylation processes with participation of Mn ions in BR phototransformation.  相似文献

Here, we describe high-resolution X-ray structures of Escherichia coli inorganic pyrophosphatase (E-PPase) complexed with the substrate, magnesium, or manganese pyrophosphate. The structures correspond to steps in the catalytic synthesis of enzyme-bound pyrophosphate (PP(i)) in the presence of fluoride as an inhibitor of hydrolysis. The catalytic reaction intermediates were trapped applying a new method that we developed for initiating hydrolytic activity in the E-PPase crystal. X-ray structures were obtained for three consecutive states of the enzyme in the course of hydrolysis. Comparative analysis of these structures showed that the Mn2+-supported hydrolysis of the phosphoanhydride bond is followed by a fast release of the leaving phosphate from the P1 site. The electrophilic phosphate P2 is trapped in the "down" conformation. Its movement into the "up" position most likely represents the rate-limiting step of Mn2+-supported hydrolysis. We further determined the crystal structure of the Arg43Gln mutant variant of E-PPase complexed with one phosphate and four Mn ions.  相似文献

The impact of the preparations of Y. pestis secreted proteins Yop (YopH-M, YopB, YopD-N, YopE) on mice immunized with 3 s.c. injections was studied. Though these proteins failed to protect the animals from plague, they stimulated the immunobiological transformation in the immunized animals. YopB and YopD-N were found to have the highest immunobiological activity with respect to mice. The preparation of YopB induced the production of the highest titers of specific antibodies and stimulated cell-mediated immune response. The injection of YopD-N to mice led to a considerable decrease in the proliferative capacity of splenocytes in vitro in response to stimulation with nonspecific mitogen ConA, as well as to pathological changes in the kidneys.  相似文献

To investigate the possibility of producing charge-neutral gene delivery complexes with extended, non-particulate structures, DNA was allowed to self-assemble with a series of hydrophilic cationic polymers containing quaternary charged trimethylammonio ethylmethacrylate (TMAEM, 5, 15, 50, 100 mol%) copolymerised with hydrophilic N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (HPMA, 95, 85, 50, 0 mol%, respectively). Copolymers were all able to bind DNA, assessed using ethidium bromide fluorescence, although copolymers with low TMAEM content did not expel ethidium bromide. Increasing TMAEM content of the copolymers changed the morphology of the complexes from extended (5-15 mol% TMAEM), through partially condensed particles (50 mol%) to discrete nanoparticles (100 mol% TMAEM). Complexes based on copolymers with low TMAEM content (5-50 mol%) showed less resistance to degradation by nucleases and lower surface charge (21.2+/-5.9-45.1+/-3.9 mV) than those formed using 100 mol% TMAEM (57.8+/-8.2 mV). They also showed significantly less association with phagocytic cells in vitro (human leucocytes, uptake decreased by up to 92.3%; murine peritoneal macrophages, uptake decreased by up to 69.6%), although in vivo their hepatic accumulation was only slightly decreased (maximum decrease 27.6%). Finding the appropriate balance of hydrophilicity and stability is key to development of effective vectors for gene delivery.  相似文献

A study of chrionomid fauna was carried out in two regions of central Yakutia. Fossilized remnants of head capsules were sampled from shallow layers of the bottom sediments of lakes. Seventy five taxa of chironomids have been determined. Statistical analysis shows that the spatial distribution of chironomid taxa in the study regions is mainly controlled by ions of aluminium and magnesium, mean July temperature, transparency and content of oxygen in water. The obtained results serve as the base for development of a chironomid temperature model used for reconstruction of Holocene and Pleistocene paleotemperatures of the Russian North.  相似文献

In 9 experimental rabbit fetuses (with reduced uterine-placental blood frow), noradrenaline administration led to an obvious thermogenic response and heart rate increase, but not in intact rabbits. Obviously the noradrenaline dosage corresponds to the range of adaptive capacities of the functional systems in intact fetuses and so does not induce any shifts of the homeostasis parameters in them. The experimental fetuses prove to be more vulnerable to stresses, and homeostasis parameter shifts in them are statistically significant.  相似文献

The interaction of yeast inorganic pyrophosphatase with methylpyrophosphate was studied. In the presence of Mg2+ the rate of hydrolysis of the methylpyrophosphate-Zn2+ complex by the enzyme was shown to decrease. This was accompanied by competition of Zn2+ and Mg2+ for one site of Me2+ binding on the enzyme. The kinetics of combined hydrolysis of zinc methylpyrophosphate and zinc pyrophosphate were studied. It was found that both substrates are hydrolyzed at the same active site of the enzyme. Free methylpyrophosphate when bound to a specific phosphorylation site on the enzyme surface accelerated magnesium pyrophosphate hydrolysis. Some kinetic parameters of this hydrolysis were determined.  相似文献
