Ensembles of artificial neural networks have been used in the last years as classification/regression machines, showing improved generalization capabilities that outperform those of single networks. However, it has been recognized that for aggregation to be effective the individual networks must be as accurate and diverse as possible. An important problem is, then, how to tune the aggregate members in order to have an optimal compromise between these two conflicting conditions. We propose here a simple method for constructing regression/classification ensembles of neural networks that leads to overtrained aggregate members with an adequate balance between accuracy and diversity. The algorithm is favorably tested against other methods recently proposed in the literature, producing an improvement in performance on the standard statistical databases used as benchmarks. In addition, and as a concrete application, we apply our method to the sunspot time series and predict the remainder of the current cycle 23 of solar activity.  相似文献

Ancyracanthopsis winegardi Wong & Anderson, 1990 (Nematoda: Acuarioidea) is described from Larus dominicanus Lichtenstein (Aves: Laridae) on the Southwest Atlantic coast (38° 42S, 59° 47W). The main character used to distinguish species of Ancyracanthopsis is the morphology of the ptilina. Thus, although the specimens described here have some differences in the morphology and size of the spicules and in the female genitalia, they were referred to A. winegardi because they have a very similar ptilina. This is the first record of a member of Ancyracanthopsis from larid birds and for A. winegardi in the Southwest Atlantic coast. We have also studied acuariid larvae found inhabiting the gizzard alongside adult specimens of A. winegardi. Among those larvae, two morphological groups were clearly distinguished. The first group was characterised by the absence of ptilina and the presence of spicular primordia and rectal cells (third-stage larvae). The second group could be distinguished by the presence of ptilina and partly-developed genitalia (fourth-stage larvae). In order to identify the larvae, a Principal Component Analysis was applied to morphometric data taken from the third-stage larvae. These results and the morphology of the partly-developed ptilina of the fourth-stage larvae indicated that the larval stages found in L. dominicanus appear to belong to Sciadiocara haematopodi, Cremonte, Navone & Etchegoin, 1999.  相似文献

Pterigodermatites (P.) spinicaudatis sp. n. from Dromiciops australis is proposed and described. The simple morphology of the ovijector and the presence of a well developed spine between the two cuticular projections at the caudal extremity of the female distinguish the studied nematode from the remainder species of the genus parasitizing South American Edentata, marsupials and cricetid rodents. The distribution area of the hosts of the different species of P. (P.) are given. The studied genus does not parasitize any Australian marsupials. It was found in the endemic South American Microbiotheriidae. This fact suggests from a parasitological point of view that D. australis is not related to the Australian marsupials but to the South American ones.  相似文献

Eight species of Syphacia (Nematoda: Oxyuridae) have been reported from South America in rodents of the Sigmodontinae, only 1 of which has been recorded in Argentina. Syphacia (Syphacia) carlitosi n. sp. is described from the ceca of Akodon azarae bibianae and Akodon azarae hunteri (Sigmodontinae: Akodontini) captured in 3 provinces in the northeast region of Argentina. The new species is differentiated principally by the shape of the cephalic plate; distribution of submedian papillae and amphids; presence, extent, and shape of cervical alae in females; absence of lateral alae; absence of deirids; spicular and gubernaculum length; shape and structure of accessory hook of gubernaculum; and distance of mamelons, excretory pore, and vulva from the anterior extremity. This is the second record of Syphacia parasitizing rodents of the tribe Akodontini.  相似文献

Background

Advances in fluorescence microscopy and mouse transgenesis have made it possible to image molecular events in living animals. However, the generation of transgenic mice is a lengthy process and intravital imaging requires specialized knowledge and equipment. Here, we report a rapid and undemanding intravital imaging method using generally available equipment.  相似文献

Parasitological fauna of Lama guanicoe in the Peninsula Mitre, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, is analyzed in this paper. Coproparasitological tests of 58 samples were performed, and on this basis, the presence of the following genera was determined: Haemonchus, Marshallagia, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Oesophagostomun and Chavertia. Marshallagia and Chabertia are reported for the first time for this host. The dung piles are not considered as parasitic barriers. Infections occur in two seasons: at the beginning of the spring and at the beginning of summer, as a survival strategy of parasitic nematodes. Parasites of L. guanicoe would be secondarily acquired form cattle.  相似文献
