The occurrence, vertical distribution, and physiological state of microorganisms in a petrochemical oily sludge deposit were studied. The total number and the number of viable microbial cells at depths of 0.2 and 3 m were about 1010 and 108 cells/g dry wt sludge. Most microbial cells taken from the middle (1 m deep) and the bottom (3 m deep) sludge horizons showed a delayed colony-forming ability, which suggested that the cells occurred in a hypometabolic state. The relative number of microaerobic denitrifying microorganisms steeply increased with depth. The amount of microorganisms tolerant to 3, 5, and 10% NaCl and capable of growing at 7 and 40°C varied from 102 to 108 CFU/g dry wt sludge. Petrochemical oily sludge was found to maintain the growth of heterotrophs, among which the degraders of oily sludge and ten different individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were detected. The occurrence of highly adaptable microorganisms with an adequate metabolic potential in the petrochemical oily sludge deposit implies that its bioremediation is possible without introducing special microorganisms.  相似文献

Publication of S.M. Razumovsky collection works (including some unknown articles) shows his theoretical legacy for current vegetation science. Concepts of S.M. Razumovsky are in the frame of organismic paradigm. He believed that plant communities and associations are natural and continuum concept is only the result of methodical mistakes. Monoclimax (in the meaning of F. Clements) was considered by Razumovsky as the fundamental low of vegetation. Now these statements are very doubtful, but some of his ideas (succession systems, cenophyllous and cenofobous species, the principle and experience of vegetation regionalisation on the base of floristic criteria) are very useful for current vegetation science.  相似文献

After reevaluation of the taxonomic position of 27 yeast collection strains of different origin by UP-PCR followed by dot-hybridization, only 22 strains were assigned to the biological species Zygowilliopsis californica (Lodder) Kudriavzev. Four strains were identified as Williopsis suaveolens (Kl?cker) Naumov et al. Universal primers L45 and N21 are recommended for identification of the Z. californica yeasts.  相似文献

The cell wall ofNocardiopsis prasina VKM Ac-1880T was found to contain two structurally different teichoic acids: unsubstituted 3,5-poly(ribitol phosphate) and l,3-poly(glycerol phosphate) substituted at position 2 by 10% with α-N-acetylglucosamine and by 5% withO-acetyl groups. The structure of the polymers was studied by chemical analysis and NMR spectroscopy. The results obtained correlate wellwith 16S rRNA sequence data and confirm the species-specificity of teichoic acids in the genusNocardiopsis.  相似文献

This work presents the results of molecular-genetic investigation of a new yeast genus, Lachancea Kurtzman (2003). Analysis of rRNA sequences and molecular karyotyping have shown genetic homogeneity of the genus Lachancea. Yeasts of this genus have an identical haploid number of chromosomes equal to eight, whereas limiting chromosome sizes significantly differ in various species. The largest range of chromosome bands was registered in L. cidri strains (400-2800 kb), while the smallest was found in L. waltii (1400-2800 kb). The intra- and interspecies polymorphism of Lachancea chromosomes is discussed.  相似文献

Image-guided, spatially localized 31P magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) was used to study in vivo murine cardiac metabolism under resting and dobutamine-induced stress conditions. Intravenous dobutamine infusion (24 mug. min-1. kg body wt-1) increased the mean heart rate by approximately 39% from 482 +/- 46 per min at baseline to 669 +/- 77 per min in adult mice. The myocardial phosphocreatine (PCr)-to-ATP (PCr/ATP) ratio remained unchanged at 2.1 +/- 0.5 during dobutamine stress, compared with baseline conditions. Therefore, we conclude that a significant increase in heart rate does not result in a decline in the in vivo murine cardiac PCr/ATP ratio. These observations in very small mammals, viz., mice, at extremely high heart rates are consistent with studies in large animals demonstrating that global levels of high-energy phosphate metabolites do not regulate in vivo myocardial metabolism during physiologically relevant increases in cardiac work.  相似文献

It is proposed to distinguish between three models of organization in synanthropic plant communities formed under the influence of man: R-modle, communities of segetal weeds in fields of annual crops and at initial stages of restoration successions; R --> CRS-model, serial communities of the later stages of restoration successions; CRS --> S-model, serial communities of allogenic successions under the influence of grazing and other external factors. The higher units of the ecological and faunistic classification (classes and orders) well represent the succession status and the soil and climate conditions under which synanthropic communities are formed. At the same time, the continual character of synanthropic vegetation makes recognition of plant associations inexpedient in some cases. It is preferable to use the deductive classification method of K. Kope?ky and S. Hejny.  相似文献

PCR-analysis, multilocus enzyme electrophoresis and molecular karyotyping were used to characterize 52 strains belonging to the genus Galactomyces. The resultant data revealed that a PCR method employing the universal primer N21 and microsatellite primer (CAC)5 is appropriate for the distinction of four Ga. geotrichum sibling species, Ga. citri-aurantii and Ga. reessii. Better separation was achieved with the UP primer N21; each species displayed a specific pattern with very low intraspecific variation. We propose to use the primer N21 for the differentiation of the six taxa composing the genus Galactomyces. Multilocus enzyme electrophoresis revealed genetic homogeneity of each sibling species within the Ga. geotrichum complex. On the other hand, the four sibling species, having from 41 to 59% of nDNA homology and similar phenotypic characteristics, are clearly distinguished based on their electrophoretic profiles using two enzymes: mannose-6-phosphate isomerase (MPI) and phosphoglucomutase (PGM). Despite the same number of chromosomal bands, different karyotype patterns were found in Ga. geotrichum sensu stricto and its two sibling species A and B. Within each sibling species, chromosome length polymorphism was observed, in particular for small bands, allowing discrimination to the strain level.  相似文献
