Based on eigenvector filtering and phase surface methods, the correlation between abundance dynamics and water temperature was studied in seven species of White Sea littoral polychaetes. Cyclic fluctuations in abundance with periods of approximately 5 and 12 years were revealed. Some instances of the 5-year cycles of abundance can be explained by climatic changes in the Arctic.  相似文献

The ecological state of raised sphagnous bogs in the forest-steppe zone has been studied. Chief factors affecting the functional state and dynamics of endangered natural objects have been revealed. Based on factual material the problem of transformation of unique plant communities is considered. Currents through "fast" (tetrodotoxin-sensitive) channels before and after external application of solutions containing 100 mM 1-ethyl-3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide-HCl (WSC) were measured during volage clamping at the membrane of dialyzed neurons of rat spinal ganglia. Treating the membrane with WSC (pH 4.8–4.9) led to a 5 to 20-fold reduction in sodium conductance, a 1.5–2.5-fold deceleration in the dynamics of current increase, and less abrupt voltage-dependent sodium channel activation curves. The shifted effective charge of activation was normally halved. The WSC produced no effect on activation parameters at normal pH (7.6). It was deduced that the changes observed resulted from WSC reacting with carboxyl groups located on the outer surface of the membrane. The effects of additional dynamic visual stimuli (retinal optokinetic stimulation (ROKS)) on the visual–manual tracking (VMT) indicators in the absence of support afferentation and with a reduced level of proprioceptive afferentation were determined using a model of horizontal “dry” immersion. The accuracy of the VMT of jerky and smooth (linear, pendular, and circular) movements represented by visual dot stimuli was evaluated in all 18 participants aged 19–31 before, during and after their exposure to a five- to seven-day immersion bath. The eye movements were recorded by electrooculography, while the hand movements were recorded by a joystick with a biological visual feedback (the current angle of the joystick handle was imaged on the screen). Computerized visual stimulation tests were presented, through virtual reality glasses, to subjects in the absence and against the background ROKS. We analyzed the temporal and the amplitude- and velocity-related visual and manual tracking (VT and MT) characteristics, including the efficiency (e) and gain (g) coefficients as the ratios between the amplitudes and velocities of eye/hand movements and the amplitude of stimulus movements. The efficiency and gain coefficients of both VT and MT without ROKS were significantly decreased against the baseline during the entire period including three days of immersion and 3 post-immersion days. The most pronounced worsening was observed in the VT parameters. Whereas the VT and MT parameters remained unchanged against the threshold ROKS before the immersion, they were improved during and after the immersion (the improvement was significant on the fifth to seventh day of immersion and on the thirdthird post-immersion day, compared to the test indicators on the clean screen). The most pronounced impact of ROKS was observed in the VT parameters. The vestibular function (VF) was evaluated by videooculography before and after immersion. We analyzed the static torsional otolith-cervicalocular reflex (OCOR), dynamic vestibular-cervical-ocular reactions (VCOR), vestibular reactivity (VR), and spontaneous eye movements (SpEM). A significant decrease in OCOR (gOCOR was 0.1, compared to the background gOCOR value of 0.25) was detected alongside a simultaneous significant increase in the VCOR/VR parameters in 28% of subjects on day R + 1 after immersion. Correlational has been found between the parameters of VT and MT, as well as between those of VF and VT, but no correlation has been found between the VF and MT characteristics. The results have shown that the removal of support afferentation and the minimization of proprioceptive afferentation more affected the accuracy of VT rather than that of MT. The correlational links between the studied parameters against the background of ROKS were not only preserved, but also intensified. The obtained results confirm the development of sensory deprivation (and afferent deficit) under the exposure to an immersion bath and indicate the approach to correcting the sensory deprivation through additional ROKS.  相似文献

Currents through batrachotoxin-modified sodium channels were measured by the voltage clamp method on the Ranvier node membrane. In experiments with replacement of Na+ in the external solution by K+ or NH 4 + the following series of permeabilities, determined as reversal potentials according to the equation of a static field, was obtained — PNa: \(P_{NH_4 }\) :PK=1:0.47:0.19. The relative permeability for H+ was determined by measuring currents after replacement of Na+ in the external solution by nonpenetrating choline ions and lowering pH to 3.7–3.8. The ratio pH/pNa for sodium channels modified by batrachotoxin averaged 528±46. Modified channels were less sensitive to the blocking action of H+ than normal sodium channels. The difference in the effective values of pK of the acid group of normal and modified channels was 0.40–0.45.  相似文献

Broad screening of microorganisms from natural and anthropogenic ecological niches has revealed strains Candida sp. AN-L15 and Geotrichum sp. AN-Z4 which transform, 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) via alternative pathways (with the domination of hydride ion-mediated reduction of the aromatic ring) and produce relatively high amounts of nitrites. According to the spectrophotometry data, the hydride attack of TNT by Candida sp. AN-L15 and Geotrichum sp. AN-Z4 grown at pH 5.0–8.0 leads to the mono-and dihydride complexes of TNT (H?-TNT and 2H?-TNT, respectively) and to protonated forms of the latter. Analysis by HPLC, GC-mass spectrometry, and ion chromatography revealed the products of deep conversion of TNT. The growth of the yeast strains in a weakly acidic medium with TNT (440 μM) is accompanied by formation of 2,4-dinitrotoluene (2,4-DNT, up to 18.2 μM). Together with accumulation of nitrites (up to 76.0 μM, depending on pH of the medium), these findings demonstrate the capacity of both strains for TNT denitration. Formation of 2,4-DNT reflects the realization of one of the possible mechanisms of TNT ortho-nitro group elimination and switching over to the pathways of metabolism of dinitrotoluenes, which are much more easily biodegradable than TNT. Simultaneously with the dominating TNT hydride attack, the mechanism of 4-and 6-electron reduction of the nitro group also functions in Candida sp. AN-L15 and Geotrichum sp. AN-Z4. Realization of the studied mechanisms of TNT transformation under growth of Candida sp. AN-L15 on n-alkane is important for bioremediation in the cases of combined pollution by oil products and explosives.  相似文献

Vascular input impedance can be used as an effective tool in estimating hydraulic parameters of arterial bed. These parameters may be interpreted as hydraulic resistance, elastance and inertance of particular sites of the arterial system.
