Cronobacter sakazakii is a pathogen that predominantly infects immunocompromised individuals, especially infants, where it causes meningitis. The genome of lytic C. sakazakii myovirus vB_CsaM_GAP31 has been fully sequenced. It consists of 147,940 bp and has a G+C content of 46.3%. A total of 295 genes, including 269 open reading frames and 26 tRNA genes, were identified. This phage is related to Salmonella phage PVP-SE1 and coliphages vB_EcoM-FV3 and rV5. 相似文献
RAPD markers linked to beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV) resistance genes were identified in two Beta vulgaris accessions Holly-1-4 and WB42 using bulked segregant analysis. The polymorphism revealed by the RAPD markers in the F2 generations of WB42 was higher than that of Holly-1-4. The segregation distortion at marker loci was slightly lower in the
B. vulgaris × B. maritima cross than in the B. vulgaris × B. vulgaris cross. For Holly-1-4, a RAPD marker was identified in a long distance from the resistance gene of Rz1. However, a RAPD marker tightly linked with Rz2 gene in repulsion phase was detected with an approximate distance of 0.036 rf. This marker was not generation specific and
showed high repeatability. The distance between Rz1 and Rz2 genes was estimated as 0.464 rf. After the Rz2Rz2 and Rz2rz2 genotypes were identified using ELISA values and repulsion phase RAPD markers, comparison of their ELISA means revealed lack
of the gene dosage effects. Nevertheless, under the field or severe infection conditions, the difference between ELISA mean
values of the Rz2Rz2 and Rz2rz2 genotypes might be more than that observed in this study and the gene dosage effects of Rz2 allele might be important. 相似文献
Brugada syndrome (BrS) is a rare hereditary arrhythmia syndrome that increases an individual’s risk for sudden cardiac death (SCD) due to ventricular fibrillation. This disorder is regarded as a notable cause of death in individuals aged less than 40 years, responsible for up to 40% of sudden deaths in cases without structural heart disease, and is reported to be an endemic in Asian countries. Mutations in SCN5A are found in approximately 30% of patients with Brugada syndrome. This study aimed to investigate mutations in the SCN5A gene in a group of Iranian Brugada syndrome patients. Nine probands (n = 9, male, mean age = 39) diagnosed with Brugada syndrome were enrolled in this study. Exon 2 to 29 were amplified by PCR and subjected to direct sequencing. Eight in silico prediction tools were used to anticipate the effects of non-synonymous variants. Seven known polymorphisms and 2 previously reported disease-causing mutations, including H558R and G1406R, were found in the studied cases. Twenty novel variants were identified: 15 missense, 2 frameshift, 2 synonymous, and one nonsense variants. In silico tools predicted 11 non-synonymous variants to have damaging effects, whereas frameshift and nonsense variants were considered inherently pathogenic. The novel variants identified in this study, alongside previously reported mutations, are highly likely to be the cause of the Brugada syndrome phenotype observed in the patient group. Further analysis is required to understand the physiological effects caused by these variants.

The effect of irrigation intervals was studied on physiological, morphological, and antioxidant traits of two marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) cultivars in Karaj, Iran, in a split-plot experiment based on a randomized complete block design with three replications. The experimental treatments included irrigation at three levels of I1 (irrigation interval of 3 days), I2 (irrigation interval of 5 days), and I3 (irrigation interval of 7 days) as the main plot and cultivar at two levels of V1 (cv. ‘sparse petal’) and V2 (cv. ‘compact petal’) as the sub-plot. The results based on the comparison of the means showed that the increase in irrigation interval from 3 to 7 days decreased the leaf area index, crop growth rate, relative growth rate, and net assimilation rate by 73.53, 85.76, 93.47, and 94.81%, respectively. It also decreased the flower yield, plant height, flower number, and leaf number by 71.92, 41.84, 99.31, and 58.67%, respectively. The interaction between irrigation and cultivar revealed that I3V1 had the highest total phenol content (3013.59 g gallic acid 100 g?1 tissue) and antioxidant capacity (60.8%). It can be inferred that the treatment of I1 and cv. ‘compact petal’ give the best results for flower yield and physiological and morphological traits, and the treatment of I3 and both cultivars provide the best results for antioxidant traits in the climatic conditions of the Karaj region.
