2.5 cm long stem segments of Populus nigra L. did not root when cultured in water or in auxins alone but rooted in glucose. The number of rooted segments and roots produced on them increased with rising glucose concentrations up to 0.5%, but decreased with higher concentrations. An addition of 1.0 mg/1 IAA inhibited rooting at 0.01 % glucose, was ineffective at 0.1 % and stimulative at higher concentrations of glucose which were inhibitory when used alone. The results show that the auxin effects on rooting are influenced by the nutritional status of the stem cutting of a species, and that a proper balance of the two is necessary for root development. 相似文献

This paper deals with the effect of 100 mg/1 each of GA3 TIBA and IAA singly and in combination with each other on stem elongation, development of lateral branches and floral bud initiation in Impatiens balsamina plants exposed to 8-, 16- and 24-h photoperiods. GA3 enhances stem elongation, the enhancing effect decreasing with IAA as well as with TIBA during 8-h but increasing during 16- and 24-h photoperiods. It decreases the number of lateral branches, the decrease being greatest during 16-, less during 8- and the least during 24-h photoperiods. The time taken for floral buds to initiate with and length of branches during 16-h photoperiods. During 8-h photoperiods, IAA delays the initiation of floral buds, while GA3 hastens it when used together with TIBA or IAA or both. GA3 increases the number of floral buds on the main axis but decreases it on lateral branches, while TIBA decreases the number on the main axis but increases it on lateral branches. IAA reduces the number of floral buds on the main axis only when used alone, but on both the main axis as well as on lateral branches when used together with GA3 and TIBA. Floral buds were not produced on lateral branches when plants were treated with GA3, TIBA and IAA all together. GA3 and TIBA induced floral buds even under non-inductive photoperiods, the number of buds and reproductive nodes being less in TIBA- than in GA3-treated plants during 24-h photoperiods. The time taken for floral buds to initiate with GA3 and TIBA during noninductive photoperiods is much longer than that during 8-h inductive photoperiods with or without GA3 or TIBA application. IAA completely inhibits the GA3- and TIBA-caused induction during 24-h, but only delays it and reduces the number of reproductive nodes and floral buds during 16-h photoperiods. 相似文献

Lauraceae are relatively well-known embryologically and embryological data are available for 23 of about 50 genera. In this paper we present the embryology of Eusideroxylon , an unstudied and key genus within Cryptocaryeae, which are positioned basally in the evolution of Lauraceae, and discuss the evolution of embryological characters in the family. Based on comparisons of over 50 characters, it was found that Eusideroxylon is consistent with Aspidostemon , the core Cryptocaryeae ( Beilschmiedia , Cryptocarya , Endiandra and Potameia ), Caryodaphnopsis and Cassytha in having a glandular anther tapetum. The core Cryptocaryeae further agrees with both Caryodaphnopsis and Cassytha in having an embryo sac protruding from the nucellus. In light of the phylogenetic trees available, both the glandular tapetum and the embryo sac protruding from the nucellus have evolved as homoplasies in Lauraceae, once each in a clade of Cryptocaryeae, and the Caryodaphnopsis and Cassytha clade, respectively. Such character-state distributions suggest that it is better to place both Caryodapnopsis and Cassytha in the same clade as the core Cryptocaryeae. Embryologically, Eusideroxylon appears to have an intermediate state between Hypodaphnis , a genus positioned basal-most in the family, and the core Cryptocaryeae. GA3 as well as SA (salicylic acid) and β-N (β-naphthol) induce floral buds in Impatiens balsamina under strictly non-inductive photoperiods. The floral bud initiation is accelerated when 1 mg/1 SA is used in combination with 100 mg/1 GA3. 100 mg/1 GA3+ 1 mg/1 SA and 100 mg/1 GA3+ 100 mg/1 β-N increase the number of floral buds as compared with 100 mg/1 GA3 alone. 相似文献

Effect of sucrose, auxins and gibberellic acid on rooting of stem segments of Populus nigra under varying light conditions 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This paper deals with the effects of sucrose, IAA, IBA and GA3on rooting stem segments of Populus in a sterile culture whenexposed to varying periods of continuous dark. The results demonstrate that segments shorter than 3.5 cm inlength, root only when exposed to 3 or more days of darkness,the number of roots increasing with the number of days in dark.The dark requirement for rooting can be substituted both byIAA and IBA, as rooting occurred with auxins even under continuouslight. The failure of control segments to root under continuouslight is ascribed to low auxin content due either to inadequatesynthesis or its inactivation by light. This deficiency canbe met either by exogenous application of auxins or by increasingthe size of the segments. GA3inhibits rooting under favourablelight conditions although it stimulates sprouting of buds andsubsequent elongation. Sucrose increases the effectiveness ofauxins. (Received July 15, 1968; ) 相似文献

Exogenously supplied nitrogenous bases in combination with IAA + sucrose hastened the formation of roots on hypocotyl cuttings of Phaseolus mungo L. cv. G31. While purine and pyrimidine bases had little effect when used alone, together with IAA or sucrose they increased the number of roots and the effect was even more pronounced in combination with (IAA + sucrose). By contrast, guanine inhibited rooting completely in higher concentrations even in combination with (IAA + sucrose), and cuttings died within 48–72 h. 相似文献

Impatiens balsamina L., a qualitative short day plant, requiresmore short days for the development of floral buds into flowersthan for their initiation. Phosfon D and cycocel reduce thenumber of short days required for flowering, increase the numberof floral buds and flowers and delay their reversion to vegetativegrowth when transferred to noninductive conditions. The effectof decapitation of the main shoot subsequent to the emergenceof floral buds resembles that of retardants indicating thatthe effect of the latter in flower promotion in this plant maybe by virtue of their effect on cessation of apical dominanceas a consequence of which reserve food materials may be channeledto axillary floral buds enabling them to develop into flowers.
