The aim of this study was to increase the stability and water solubility of fragrance materials, to provide controlled release of these compounds, and to convert these substances from liquid to powder form by preparing their inclusion complexes with cyclodextrins (CDs). For this purpose, linalool and benzyl acetate were chosen as the fragrance materials. The use of beta-cyclodextrin (beta CD) and 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (2-HP beta CD) for increasing the solubility of these 2 fragrance materials was studied. Linalool and benzyl acetate gave a B-type diagram with beta CD, whereas they gave an A(L)-type diagram with 2-HP beta CD. Therefore, complexes of fragrance materials with 2-HP beta CD at 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios (guest:host) were prepared. The formation of inclusion complexes was confirmed using proton nuclear magnetic resonance ((1)H-NMR) spectroscopy and circular dichroism spectroscopy. The results of the solubility studies showed that preparing the inclusion complex with 2-HP beta CD at a 1:1 molar ratio increased the solubility of linalool 5.9-fold and that of benzyl acetate 4.2-fold, whereas the complexes at a 1:2 molar ratio increased the solubility 6.4- and 4.5-fold for linalool and benzyl acetate, respectively. The stability and in vitro release studies were performed on the gel formulations prepared using uncomplexed fragrance materials or inclusion complexes of fragrance materials at a 1:1 molar ratio. It was observed that the volatility of both fragrance materials was decreased by preparing the inclusion complexes with 2-HP beta CD. second trimester. Twenty one normal human male fetuses’ testes in 2nd trimester were processed and immunohistochemistry was
applied. The spermatogonia with nuclear and perinuclear staining, were accepted as p53 (+). The number of p53 (+) spermatogonia
was counted in randomly 10 different seminiferous tubules. The results suggest that p53 expression in gonads of human male

In this study, it was aimed to demonstrate the possible oxidative stress caused by exposure of xylene and formaldehyde (HCHO) on liver tissue, and on body and liver weights in adult as well as developing rats. The rats (96 female Sprague-Dawley) were randomly divided into four groups: embryonic day 1 (Group 1), 1-day-old infantile rats (Group 2), 4-week-old rats (Group 3) and adult rats (Group 4). The animals were exposed to gases of technical xylene (300 ppm), HCHO (6 ppm) or technical xylene + HCHO (150 ppm + 3 ppm), 8 hours per day for 6 weeks. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities, and glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were evaluated. In addition, body and liver weights were determinated. Compared to the control animals, body and liver weights were decreased in the embryonic day 1 group (P < 0.001, P < 0.01, respectively) and the 1-day-old infantile group (P < 0.001). Liver weight was increased in the 4-week-old group (P < 0.01). SOD activities were decreased in the 4-week-old rats exposed to HCHO (P < 0.01). CAT activities increased in the embryonic day 1 group (P < 0.05). GSH levels were decreased in the 1-day-old infantile group (P < 0.01), and MDA levels was increased in the embryonic day 1 group (P < 0.05) as compared with the respective control groups. As to GSH and MDA levels in adult and 4-week-old animals, no statistically significant differences were observed (P > 0.05). The present study indicates that exposures to xylene, HCHO and a mixture of them are toxic to liver tissue, and developing female rats are especially more adversely affected. Metabolic syndrome represents a collection of abnormalities that includes fatty liver, and it currently affects one-third of the United States population and has become a major health concern worldwide. Fructose intake, primarily from added sugars in soft drinks, can induce fatty liver in animals and is epidemiologically associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in humans. Fructose is considered lipogenic due to its ability to generate triglycerides as a direct consequence of the metabolism of the fructose molecule. Here, we show that fructose also stimulates triglyceride synthesis via a purine-degrading pathway that is triggered from the rapid phosphorylation of fructose by fructokinase. Generated AMP enters into the purine degradation pathway through the activation of AMP deaminase resulting in uric acid production and the generation of mitochondrial oxidants. Mitochondrial oxidative stress results in the inhibition of aconitase in the Krebs cycle, resulting in the accumulation of citrate and the stimulation of ATP citrate lyase and fatty-acid synthase leading to de novo lipogeneis. These studies provide new insights into the pathogenesis of hepatic fat accumulation under normal and diseased states. 相似文献

Backgrounds: Debonding of acrylic resin teeth from denture base material is a problem for patients wearing complete dentures. Materials and Methods: Four experimental groups (n = 30) were investigated by subjecting tooth–resin bonding to tensile loading. Specimens were prepared and tested according to the methods of the International Standards Organization (ISO 22112:2005) using a special assembly. Four pre‐processing surface treatments of teeth were applied: (i) ST1, no treatment applied (control); (ii) ST2, wax solvent (Dewaks, Faber Kimya & Ilaç, Turkey); (iii) ST3, boiling water followed by conditioning with methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer (Meliodent, Bayer Dental, Germany); (iv) ST4, boiling water followed by wax solvent agent and finally MMA monomer application. Bond strength test was performed using a universal testing machine. Results: All the strength values of the test groups were within clinically acceptable limits. The lowest values were from the ST1 group and the highest values were in the ST4 group. Conclusions: Wax elimination methods affected bonding strength. Application of wax solvent and MMA monomer to the ridge lap surfaces of the teeth gave the best results. In clinical practice, this application procedure may decrease the bonding failure of denture teeth. 相似文献

Regulation of FAS ligand expression by chemokine ligand 2 in human endometrial cells 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Human endometrium is a dynamic tissue under the influence of numerous hormones, growth factors, and cytokines interacting to maintain a balance of cellular growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. We have previously demonstrated that several factors including interleukin-8, extracellular matrix, and steroid hormones modulate FASLG, one of the apoptotic molecules, in human endometrium. Chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), a monocyte chemoattractant and activating factor, is a cytokine involved in endometrial function. CCL2 is elevated in the peritoneal fluid of women with endometriosis. We hypothesize that increased levels of CCL2 in the endometriotic environment may upregulate FASLG expression in human endometrial stromal cells and induce a local immunotolerance in endometriosis. To test our hypothesis, we studied the in vitro regulation of FASLG expression and apoptosis by CCL2 in endometrial stromal cells. Western blot analysis revealed that CCL2 upregulated FASLG protein expression in cultured endometrial stromal cells. Based on semiquantitative RT-PCR analysis, CCL2 did not alter either FAS or FASLG mRNA expression in endometrial stromal cells. Immunocytochemistry results from the same cells treated with CCL2 demonstrated upregulation of FASLG protein expression. CCL2 did not change rate of apoptosis in endometrial stromal cells as evaluated by TUNEL assay. However, an increased apoptotic rate was detected in Jurkat (T lymphocytes) cells cocultured with endometrial stromal cells previously treated with CCL2. We speculate that increased FASLG expression by CCL2 may induce apoptosis of T lymphocytes and thus produce an immunotolerant environment for the development of ectopic implants. 相似文献
