Most of the studies investigated the effects of nutrient-based fertilizers on olive fruits and oil quality; few studies have been interested in the modification of the chemical composition of olive leaves in response to fertilization. Thus, the current study aims to examine the effects of foliar fertilization on the mineral profile of olive leaves as well as the concentrations of chlorophyll, antioxidants (phenolic compounds) and carbohydrates. Experimentation consists of the annual application of six treatments during two successive growing seasons (2009–2010): TC (untreated trees), P1 (nitrogen-based fertilizer), P2 (contains boron, magnesium and manganese), P3 (phosphorus and potassium based fertilizer), P4 (rich in calcium and phosphorus), T5 (P1 and P2 application) and T6 (P1, P2, P3 and P4 application). At the end of the experiment, mineral analysis of olive leaves showed an increase in the concentrations of most nutrients which induced changes in biochemical composition: an increase of chlorophyll content, a reduction of total phenols and oleuropein concentrations coupled with an increase of hydroxytyrosol level. Moreover, an increase of total sugar content and most individual sugars, principally translocated forms of sugars (mannitol, sucrose and raffinose), was also observed. The accumulation of these key physiological parameters by foliar fertilization suggests an improvement of physiological performance and photosynthetic capacity of olive trees. Moreover, from a biological point of view, the results of the study revealed the possibility to improve plants of medicinal interest by enhancing the accumulation of some bio-active compounds, such as hydroxytyrosol and mannitol, via foliar nutrient supply.  相似文献

A two years field study was conducted to explain the effect of Zn and lime application on morphological characteristics, rice yield and yield components, and more broadly, grains bio-fortification (Zn and protein content (CP), and amino acid profiles). The lime and Zn interaction increased grains and straw yield more than two times (6.64 ton ha?1) compared to the control (3.20 ton ha?1). The maximum increase in the Zn content of grain, white rice and bran was obtained about 30% in whole grain, 42% in bran and 56% in white rice. Furthermore, CP increased by about 8% in bran, 12.3% in whole grain, and 27% in white rice compared to control. Also, the Zn and lime application and their interaction were significantly increased the amino acids, especially essential parts.  相似文献

Intermittently submergence and drainage status of paddy fields can cause alterations in morphological and chemical characteristics of soils. We conducted a sequential fractionation study to provide an insight into solubility of Sulfur (S) and Molybdenum (Mo) in flooded alluvial paddy soils. The samples (0–15 and 15–30 cm) were taken from marine and riverine alluvial soils in Kedah and Kelantan areas, respectively, and were sequentially extracted with NaHCO3, NaOH, HCl, and HClO4–HNO3. Total S in upper and lower layers of Kedah and Kelantan ranged between 273 and 1121 mg kg?1, and 177 to 1509 mg kg?1, respectively. In upper layers and subsoil of Kedah, average total Mo were 0.34 and 0.27 mg kg?1, respectively. Average total Mo in Kelantan were 0.25 mg kg?1 (surface layer) and 0.28 mg kg?1 (subsoil). Cation exchange capacity (CEC) was positively correlated with plant available amounts of Mo in upper layers of Kedah area. Also, total and medium-term plant-available S was correlated with total carbon (C) at lower layers of Kelantan soil series. But in surface layers of Kelantan soil series, CEC was strongly correlated with total and medium-term plant-available S. Our results indicates that the influence of flooding conditions on soil S and Mo contents in paddy fields may cause long-term changes in S and Mo chemical reactivities.  相似文献

The demand for cloud computing is increasing dramatically due to the high computational requirements of business, social, web and scientific applications. Nowadays, applications and services are hosted on the cloud in order to reduce the costs of hardware, software and maintenance. To satisfy this high demand, the number of large-scale data centers has increased, which consumes a high volume of electrical power, has a negative impact on the environment, and comes with high operational costs. In this paper, we discuss many ongoing or implemented energy aware resource allocation techniques for cloud environments. We also present a comprehensive review on the different energy aware resource allocation and selection algorithms for virtual machines in the cloud. Finally, we come up with further research issues and challenges for future cloud environments.  相似文献

Gelsolin and calponin are well characterized actin-binding proteins that form a tight gelsolin:calponin complex (GCC). We show here that the GCC is formed through two distinct interfaces. One of these is formed between 144-182 of calponin and 25-150 of gelsolin (G1). The second is a calcium-sensitive site centred on calponin's CH domain, and the C-terminal half of gelsolin (G4-6). The behaviour of this second interface is dependent on the presence of calcium and so it is possible that potential GCC-binding partners may be selected by calcium availability. Actin is one such GCC-binding partner and we show that a larger complex is formed with monomeric actin in calcium. The stoichiometry of this complex is determined to be 1 gelsolin/1 calponin/2 G-actins (GCA(2)). Both actin monomers bind the GCC through gelsolin. Both calponin and gelsolin are reported to play signaling roles in addition to their better-characterized actin-binding properties and it is possible that the GCC regulates both of these functions.  相似文献

Mauritanian date palm cultivars and progenies of two controlled crosses were analyzed according to the identity of mitochondrial plasmid-like DNAs. Starting from total genomic DNA and appropriate primers, polymerase chain reaction was designed to amplify either a 373-bp or a 265-bp fragments corresponding to the S and the R-plasmid respectively. Data proved that 5 cultivars out of 10 studied have exhibited the R-plasmid suggesting their resistance to the fusariosis. The existence of intra-cultivar variability has also been revealed in the cv. Ahmar. In addition, analysis throughout progenies of two controlled crosses suggested the strict maternal transmission of the date palms’ mitochondrial genome.  相似文献

 A highly sensitive and selective method is described for a rapid and easy determination of iron(III). This procedure is based on fluorimetric detection combined with the attractive properties of siderophores and biomimetic ligands, which are strong and selective ferric chelators. Azotobactin δ, a bacterial fluorescent siderophore, three fluorescent derivatives of desferriferrioxamine B with a linear structure (NBD-, MA-, NCP-desferriferrioxamine B) and one tripodal biomimetic ligand of desferriferrichrome carrying an anthracenyl fluorescent probe were examined. A very efficient static quenching mechanism by iron was observed for all the ligands considered in this work. Our results identify azotobactin δ as the most promising chemosensor of ferric traces in water, more sensitive than the NBD-desferriferrioxamine B fluorescent ligand. Under more lipophilic conditions, the anthryl-desferriferrichrome biomimetic analogue showed similar analytical potential and was found to be more sensitive than the lipophilic MA- and NCP-desferriferrioxamine B. Their detection limits were respectively 0.5 ng mL–1 for azotobactin δ and 0.6 ng mL–1 for the anthryl tripodal chelator. The calibration curves were linear over the range 0–95 ng mL–1 and 0–180 ng mL–1. Various foreign cations have been examined and only copper(II) and aluminium(III) were shown to interfere when present in similar concentrations as iron(III). The developed procedure using fluorescent siderophores or biomimetic ligands of iron(III) may be applied (1) to monitor iron(III)-dependent biological systems and (2) to determine iron(III) quantitatively in natural waters and in biological systems. The risk assessment process for non-carcinogens must incorporate all available scientific information, including toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic data. The framework for exposure limit setting proposed by Renwick and the International Programme on Chemical Safety (IPCS) subdivides traditional 10X uncertainty factors (UFs) into separate partial-log default values based on kinetic and dynamic considerations and allows for incorporation of compound-specific data when available. In this investigation, an extensive literature search was conducted on nine pharmaceuticals in order to incorporate information on kinetics and dynamics to allow extrapolation across species and among susceptible humans. The drugs are diazepam, oxazepam, midazolam, buspirone, fluoxetine, venlafaxine, amlodipine, felodipine, and nifedipine. The composite factors were calculated using the highest ratio or the average ratio for appropriate parameters and default subfactor. For the drugs examined, most of the subfactors for kinetics and dynamics were less than the proposed values by Renwick and IPCS, and the composite factors were far less than 100. From this study, it was concluded that relevant compound-specific kinetic and dynamic data can reduce uncertainties associated with interspecies differences and interindividual variability.  相似文献
