Theoretical and simulational evidence, as well as experimental indications, are accumulating that quantum associative memory and imaging are possible. We compare these data with biological evidence, since we find them to a significant extent compatible. This paper presents a computationally implementable integrative model of appearance-based viewpoint-invariant recognition of objects. The neuro-quantum hybrid model incorporates neural processing up to V1 and quantum associative processing in V1, achieving together an object-recognition result in V2 and ITC. Results of our simulation of the central quantum-like parts of the bio-model, receiving neurally pre-processed inputs, are presented. This part contains our original simulated storage by multiple quantum interference of image-encoding Gabor wavelets done in a Hebbian way, especially using the Griniasty et al. pose-sequence learning rule.  相似文献

High inter- and intra-individual variability in the pH of fluids in the human gastrointestinal (GI) tract has been described in the literature. The aim of this study was to assess the influence of physiological variability in fasted pH profiles of media along the GI tract on diclofenac sodium (DF-Na) dissolution from matrix tablets. Four individual in vivo fasted pH profiles were selected from the literature that differed in pH values and transit times from the stomach to the proximal colon. Using a glass-bead device flow-through dissolution system, these pH profiles were simulated in vitro using a specific media sequence and considering simulated intestinal buffer capacities corresponding to in vivo literature data. Dissolution experiments were then performed in the same system with media sequence following individual pH profiles. In dissolution experiments, where influences of simulated gastric emptying time (GET), gastric pH value, small intestinal transit time, and colonic pH were studied; high influence of gastric pH value and GET on DF-Na dissolution was observed. The effect of variability in pH profiles in the range of individual in vivo data on DF-Na dissolution was also clearly observed in experiments, where dissolution studies were performed following three simulated in vivo individual pH profiles. The differences in DF-Na release between three individual pH profiles were substantial; they also reflected in simulated plasma concentration profiles and can be attributed to pH dependent diclofenac solubility.  相似文献

The objective of the present study was the cryopreservation of monotypic endemic Hladnikia pastinacifolia Rchb. shoot tips from an in vitro culture, via encapsulation-dehydration (ED) or encapsulation-vitrification (EV). For all tested genotypes, the highest rates of shoot regrowth and multiplication were obtained after overnight preculture in 0.4 M sucrose, encapsulation in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with 0.4 M sucrose and 1 M glycerol, followed by polymerization in 3% (w/v) Na-alginate in MS with 0.4 M sucrose. Optimal osmoprotection was achieved for ED with 0.4 M sucrose plus 1 M glycerol and for EV with 0.4 M sucrose plus 2 M glycerol. The best dehydration time for ED was 150 min in a desiccation chamber with silica gel, and the best vitrification time for EV was 85 min in plant vitrification solution 2 (PVS2). For ED, dehydration for 150 min resulted in explant water content of 22%. When the encapsulation method was combined with ED, 53% regrowth was achieved, and when it was combined with EV, 64% regrowth was achieved. Both methods could become applicable for the long-term cryopreservation of H. pastinacifolia germplasm, although EV was faster and resulted in better final regrowth success. Genetic stability analysis of cryopreserved plant samples was carried out for two genotypes, using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers to compare the two different cryopreservation protocols. Significant genetic differences between the genotypes were detected and a low level of genomic variation was observed.  相似文献

We present a study of buzzing sounds of several common species of bumblebees, with the focus on automatic classification of bumblebee species and types. Such classification is useful for bumblebee monitoring, which is important in view of evaluating the quality of their living environment and protecting the biodiversity of these important pollinators. We analysed natural buzzing frequencies for queens and workers of 12 species. In addition, we analysed changes in buzzing of Bombus hypnorum worker for different types of behaviour. We developed a bumblebee classification application using machine learning algorithms. We extracted audio features from sound recordings using a large feature library. We used the best features to train a classification model, with Random Forest proving to be the best training algorithm on the testing set of samples. The web and mobile application also allows expert users to upload new recordings that can be later used to improve the classification model and expand it to include more species.  相似文献

Dynamic alluvial landscapes offer many possibilities to study primary succession processes on newly developed habitats. However, within the Central European environmental conditions, where watercourses and their riparian spaces are under severe anthropogenic pressures — water regulation, deforestation, lowering of groundwater — natural processes are limited. We studied primary succession on alluvial stream deposits in an artificial lake, where we aimed to follow the terrestrialisation rate and habitat turnover, along with plant species richness and composition across successional stages. In 30 years, a pristine white-willow riparian forest developed. One half of the initially aquatic habitat became terrestrial. The frequency of change, studied on 11250 quadrats 10×10 m each (on a scale from “no change” to 8 changes) and the mean of change per habitat type (most of the habitats changed 2 to 3 times) revealed only one successional trajectory. The percentage flow chart showed a deterministic pathway of succession. The “time since formation” of a terrestrial habitat shows that more than 20% of the lake was terrestrialised within in the first ten years. We studied species richness and composition along three composed transects, following successional stages. We found that the newly assembled riparian white willow woodland has a surprisingly low colonisation rate of plant species.  相似文献

Vascular endothelium selectively controls the transport of plasma contents across the blood vessel wall. The principal objective of our preliminary study was to quantify the electroporation-induced increase in permeability of blood vessel wall for macromolecules, which do not normally extravasate from blood into skin interstitium in homeostatic conditions. Our study combines mathematical modeling (by employing pharmacokinetic and finite element modeling approach) with in vivo measurements (by intravital fluorescence microscopy). Extravasation of fluorescently labeled dextran molecules of two different sizes (70 kDa and 2000 kDa) following the application of electroporation pulses was investigated in order to simulate extravasation of therapeutic macromolecules with molecular weights comparable to molecular weight of particles such as antibodies and plasmid DNA. The increase in blood vessel permeability due to electroporation and corresponding transvascular transport was quantified by calculating the apparent diffusion coefficients for skin microvessel wall (D [μm2/s]) for both molecular sizes. The calculated apparent diffusion coefficients were D = 0.0086 μm2/s and D = 0.0045 μm2/s for 70 kDa and 2000 kDa dextran molecules, respectively. The results of our preliminary study have important implications in development of realistic mathematical models for prediction of extravasation and delivery of large therapeutic molecules to target tissues by means of electroporation.  相似文献

We analysed two groups of Quercus robur trees, growing at nearby plots with different micro-location condition (W-wet and D-dry) in the floodplain Krakovo forest, Slovenia. In the study we compared the growth response of two different tree groups to environmental variables, the potential signal stored in earlywood (EW) structure and the potential difference of the information stored in carbon isotope discrimination of EW and latewood (LW). For that purpose EW and LW widths and carbon isotope discrimination for the period 1970–2008 AD were measured. EW and LW widths were measured on stained microscopic slides and chronologies were standardised using the ARSTAN program. α-cellulose was extracted from pooled EW and LW samples and homogenized samples were further analysed using an elemental analyser and IRMS. We discovered that W oaks grew significantly better over the whole analysed period. The difference between D and W oaks was significant in all analysed variables with the exception of stable carbon isotope discrimination in latewood. In W oaks, latewood widths correlated with summer (June to August) climatic variables, while carbon isotope discrimination was more connected to River Krka flow during the summer. EW discrimination correlated with summer and autumn River Krka flow of the previous year, while latewood discrimination correlated with flow during the current year. In the case of D oaks, the environmental signal appears to be vague, probably due to less favourable growth conditions resulting in markedly reduced increments. Our study revealed important differences in responses to environmental factors between the two oak groups of different physiological conditions that are preconditioned by environmental stress. Environmental information stored in tree-ring features may vary, even within the same forest stand, and largely depends on the micro-environment. Our analysis confirmed our assumptions that separate EW and LW analysis of widths and carbon isotope discrimination provides complementary information in Q. robur dendroecology.  相似文献

Hereditary angioedema due to C1 inhibitor deficiency (C1-INH-HAE) is a rare autosomal dominant disease characterized by recurrent life-threatening oedemas and/or abdominal pain and caused by mutations affecting the C1 inhibitor gene, SERPING1. We sought to investigate the spectrum of SERPING1 mutations in Serbia and the possible genotype-phenotype association. C1-INH-HAE was diagnosed on the basis of clinical and laboratory criteria in 40 patients from 27 families; four were asymptomatic. Mutational analysis of the SERPING1 gene was performed by sequencing and multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification. Disease-causing mutations in SERPING1 were identified in all patients. In C1-INH-HAE type I, we identified 19 different mutations, including 6 missense mutations, 6 nonsense mutations, 2 small deletions, 1 small insertion, 2 splicing defects and 2 large deletions. Two of the mutations (c.300C>T and c.1184_1185insTA) are reported here for the first time. All C1-INH-HAE type II patients from three families harboured the same substitution (c.1396C>T). Based on the type of mutation identified in the SERPING1 gene, patients were divided into two groups: group 1 (nonsense, frameshift, large deletions/insertions, splicing defect, and mutations at Arg444) or group 2 (missense, excluding mutations at Arg444). Significant differences were found in the clinical severity score (P = 0.005), prevalence of laryngeal (P = 0.040) and facial (P = 0.013) oedema, and long-term prophylaxis (P = 0.023) between the groups with different types of mutations. Because our population consisted of related subjects, differences in the severity score between mutation groups were further confirmed using the generalized estimating equation (P = 0.038). Our study identified 20 different disease-causing mutations, including two novel mutations, in all C1-INH-HAE patients, highlighting the heterogeneity of mutations in the SERPING1 gene. Furthermore, it appears that mutations with a clear effect on C1-INH function might be responsible for a more severe disease phenotype.  相似文献

This study aimed to establish the differences in muscle activation between a 6-minute simulated race (all-out test) and a submaximal (blood lactate [LA] concentration 4 mmol·L(-1)) 6-minute effort (submax test) on a rowing ergometer. Eleven healthy, well-trained subjects performed the submax test followed after 1-hour rest by the all-out test. Surface electromyographic (sEMG) signal of muscles gastrocnemius medialis (GC), rectus femoris (RF), vastus lateralis (VL), biceps femoris, gluteus maximus (GM), erector spinae (ES), lower latissimus dorsi (LD_lo), upper latissimus dorsi (LD_up), brachioradialis (BR) and biceps brachii (BB), and other biomechanical, biochemical, and respiratory parameters were monitored during rowing. During the all-out test, the subjects covered a longer distance with larger average power output, higher stroke frequency, LA concentration, and oxygen consumption compared to the submax test (p < 0.05). During the submax test, the average rectified values (ARVs) of sEMG signal increased significantly only in the RF and LD_lo muscles. During the all-out test, the ARVs of the RF, VL, and GM muscles increased (p < 0.05), whereas the MDFs of the RF, ES, and LD_lo muscles decreased (p < 0.05). Compared to the submax test, the ARVs of the GC, RF, VL, LD_lo, LD_up, and BB muscles were significantly higher during the all-out test. However, only for the RF muscle, the all-out test resulted in a significantly lower MDF value compared to the submax test. The most involved muscles that would need special attention in training seem to be the leg and shoulder girdle extensors and arm flexors but not the trunk and hip extensors.  相似文献
