Inhibition of energy metabolism by benzoxazolin-2-one   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The effects of the title compound (BOA) on energy-linked reactions in mitochondria were studied. BOA inhibited electron transfer between the flavin and ubiquinone in Complex I, and ATP synthesis at the F1 moiety of the ATPase complex. These results are discussed in relation to the toxicity of BOA towards a wide range of aerobic organisms.  相似文献

Hydroxamic acid concentration in Gramineae, both natural and incorporated, correlates with resistance to the aphid Metopolophium dirhodum. 2,4-Dihydroxy-7-methoxy-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one, a hydroxamic acid isolated from corn extracts, is deleterious to aphids fed on artificial diets. It is proposed that hydroxamic acids act as naturally-occurring protective factors against M. dirhodum.  相似文献

105 volunteer clients completed single sessions of dream interpretation using the Hill (1996) model, with half randomly assigned to waking life interpretation and the other half to parts of self interpretation in the insight stage of the Hill model. No differences were found between waking life and parts of self interpretations, suggesting that therapists can use either type of dream interpretation. Volunteer clients who had positive attitudes toward dreams and presented pleasant dreams had better session outcome; in addition, volunteer clients who had pleasant dreams gained more insight into their dreams. Results suggest that therapists doing single sessions of dream interpretation need to be cautious about working with dreams when volunteer clients have negative attitudes toward dreams and present unpleasant dreams.  相似文献

The content of hydroxamic acids in wheat plants shows substantial variations between different species and cultivars (1.0–6.3 mmol/kg fr. wt). It also varies with the age of the plant and the organ assayed. The maximum concentration is reached by the fourth day in epicotyls and roots. The amount in leaves at different plant ages is always higher in the younger leaves. Based on feeding and infestation experiments, it is proposed that the distribution of aphids on leaves of different ages is regulated by the hydroxamic acid content.  相似文献

3-H5,6-Prostaglandin F1alpha is largely eliminated from the circulation during a single passage through the pulmonary vascular bed. Its elimination requires cellular uptake. The volume of distribution and the mean transit time of the radioactivity are greater than those of an intravascular marker, blue dextran. The lungs retain 25-30% of the radioactivity, most in the form of a metabolite less polar that PGF1alpha itself. The pulmonary venous effluent contains the same metabolite along with some unmetabolized PGF1alpha. The metabolite can be distinguished from prostaglandins of the A, B, D, E and F series. It is reduced on reaction with borohydride, but reduction does not yield PGF1alpha. NaOH has no effect on the metabolite, a finding that rules out the presence of a beta-hydroxy-ketone configuration of the ring structure. The chromatographic behavior of the metabolite and its reaction with borohydride are those expected of 9,11-hydroxy-15-ketoprostanoic acid.  相似文献

The decontamination process of solids loaded with PAH in a pilot plant is modeled. This process is separated into two main stages: fast steam stripping at the entrance of the separation tube and the subsequent slow desorption of PAH from the interior of the soil particles. The stripping process also occurs in two stages: fast diffusion controlled saturation of the partial pressures followed by the heat transfer controlled evaporation. The phase diagram of PAH/water is constructed using both the microscopic model and empirical relationships for systems with wide miscibility gaps. The numerical basis for the calculations describing desorption from the soil particles is discussed. The model for multiple PAH components is based on Langmuir type isotherms which include surface diffusion terms. The obtained results are contrasted with analytical data for systems displaying linear isotherms by dispersive approximation.  相似文献
