The aim of our investigation was to compare the distribution of dermatomycosis species in Eastern Croatia between two different periods: first period from 1997-2001 year, and second period from 1986-88 year. The outpatients from Department of Dermatovenerology University Hospital "Osijek" with confirmed diagnosis infection. Tinea, were selected on the basis o age, gender, localization and dermatomycosis species. During the first period (1997-2001) among 75,691 outpatients Tinea infection was confirmed in 558 (0.73%), while in the second period among 47,832 outpatients there were 126 (0.26%) cases with Tinea, what showed significant increase of fungal infections among population this region. According the age and gender in both periods predominant population were under of the age 16(40.14%: 41.26%), and female population was predominant (58.60% and 57.14%) in comparison to males (41.39% and 42.85%). The most frequent localization of lesions in period I were cutis glabrae (47.31%), palms and soles (31.36%), capitis (17.38%) and unguis (9.31%) and isolated species were as followed: Trichophyton (39.06%), Microsporum (31.72%) and Candida (28.13%) species. In period II the most frequent localization were palms and soles (40.47%), cutis glabrae (36.50%), capitis (12.69%) and unguis (10.31%). The isolated species in this period were: Trichophyton (80.15%), Candida (12.69%) and Microsporum (4.76%) species. From the data collected during two different periods we can observe 1) increase of fungal infection generally in our region; 2) significant changes in causative species (increase of Microsporum and Candida species infection, but Trichophyton spp still remain the first causative agent); and 3) changes in the localization of lesions.  相似文献

We report a case of orthotopic liver retransplantation (OLRT) in a patient who was suffering from rejection and graft failure after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). The patient was a 32-year old female who had diagnosed liver lesion--hepatic cirrhosis. Within two months, with presented condition as a terminal stage of her disease, she underwent the OLT and immunosuppressive postoperative management. Two months after the OLT, in the one-week period, the patient underwent two new operations because of obstructive icterus due to fulminant cholangitis and subhepatic abscess. In spite of this operative and conservative treatment the patient's condition did not improve. Because of graft failure due to bile duct necrosis, she underwent an ORLT operation and her condition is satisfactory, till now. We confirmed that the overall impact of retransplatation persists because patients undergoing elective retransplatation have significantly better prognosis than those requiring an emergency operation.  相似文献

Talocrural joint injuries are among the most common injuries of the joints and therefore there is a need for a holistic approach to analysis of morphology, biomechanics and visualization of the talocrural joint ligamentary apparatus in different positions. The research was carried out on 20 fresh and conserved anatomical specimens of the lower leg on which X-ray, computed tomography, ultrasonography and stress analysis were performed before and after the lesion of ligaments. Also the gait of 130 adults without (100) and with ligament and joint capsule lesion (30) was analyzed by infrared telemetry. After complete discission of the lateral ligaments, arthrography and CT could register the lesion, while X-ray and ultrasonography could not detect it. Gait analysis of healthy and injured leg showed that the injured leg was significantly less loaded.  相似文献

Villi arachnoidales undergoes in the course of life changes in relation to the skull bones and sinuses. Our aim was to determine the relations of the villi arachnoidales to the skull bone and/or sinuses from the neonatal period to adults. The investigations were performed on collection of 50 disarticulated macerated skull bones from the new-born to 30 years of age and on 20 skulls from individuals in the life period from 30 to 80 years of age. Villi arachnoidales produced imprints on the skull bones in the shape of holes and/or furrows corresponding to different shape of the villi arachnoidales. These imprints appeared very early in the period when the bony sprouts of the large skull bones received a thin covering of compact bone, the future lamina vitrea. At that time villi arachnoidales had no connection with the dural sinuses but with the diploe and with the diploic veins. By agglomeration of the villi in larger and large formations, granula meningea, Pacchionian granulations, the contact to sinuses was realized by means of short channels. The structural changes of villi arachnoidales may produce thrombophlebitis and hydrocephalus externus, especially in children. The fate and the relations of the villi arachnoidales are therefore of great importance for neurologist, neurosurgeon and otorhinolaryngologist.  相似文献

We investigated the bone phenotype of mice with generalized lymphoproliferative disorder (gld) due to a defect in the Fas ligand-mediated apoptotic pathway. C57BL/6-gld mice had greater whole body bone mineral density and greater trabecular bone volume than their wild-type controls. gld mice lost 5-fold less trabecular bone and had less osteoclasts on bone surfaces after ovariectomy-induced bone resorption. They also formed more bone in a model of osteogenic regeneration after bone marrow ablation, had less osteoclasts on bone surfaces and less apoptotic osteoblasts. gld and wild-type mice had similar numbers of osteoclasts in bone marrow cultures, but marrow stromal fibroblasts from gld mice formed more alkaline phosphatase-positive colonies. Bone diaphyseal shafts and bone marrow stromal fibroblasts produced more osteoprotegerin mRNA and protein than wild-type mice. These findings provide evidence that the disturbance of the bone system is a part of generalized lymphoproliferative syndrome and indicates the possible role of osteoprotegerin as a regulatory link between the bone and immune system.  相似文献

Antimutators are genetic mutants that produce mutations at reduced rates compared to the wild type strain. They are interesting because they may provide insights into the mechanisms by which spontaneous mutations occur. We have investigated a reported antimutator strain of Escherichia coli termed mud for its possible mechanism. The mud strain exhibits a decrease in both spontaneous mutagenesis and mutability with alkylated agents and base analogs. These types of DNA lesions are known to be the substrates for the E. coli methyl-directed mismatch repair encoded by the mutHLSU system. We investigated whether the putative antimutator effect results from the increased expression or activity of the mutHLSU system. To directly measure the mismatch repair capacity of mud cells, we have transfected them with phage lambda heteroduplexes and scored the fraction of mixed (unrepaired) infective centers. This transfection system has been used routinely to assay mismatch repair capacity in E. coli and other organisms. No difference between mud and wild type cells is observed. From the results of the experiments we conclude that the reported antimutator effect of mud does not result from enhanced mismatch repair capacity. This conclusion is consistent with recently published evidence that the mud effect does not represent a real antimutator effect, but is an artifact due to impaired growth of mud cells under certain selective conditions.  相似文献

Suspension culture was more efficient method for haploid production than anther culture. All analysed androgenic regenerants originating from embryogenic microspores in suspension culture of Aesculus hippocastanum L. had a haploid number of chromosomes (n=20), while 50 % of those derived from anther culture were diploids. The response of Morimus funereus larvae to total starvation and refeeding with qualitatively different nutritive substrates (artificial diets supplemented with yeast as a source of B complex vitamins or with a digestibility reducer-tannic acid) was examined in this paper. Refeeding resulted in a compensatory increase of larval growth. Feeding and refeeding with qualitatively different nutritive substrates affected both quality and quantity of midgut and brain proteins. The observed differences suggest the possible switching of enzyme isoforms in M. funereus midgut and changes in synthesis/secretion of neurohormones, depending on food presence and its nutritional value.  相似文献

Sexual differences in reaction norms of life history traits (larval development time--LDT, pupal weight--PW and adult longevity--L) were investigated in the gypsy moth reared on young or old oak leaves during the first larval instar. Sexual dimorphism was revealed for genetic variation in reaction norms that was expressed only for LDT in males, and PW and L in females. Higher mean plasticity of longevity was found in males compared to females indicating that the sexes are exposed to divergent selective pressures. Greater dependence of males on energy resources (carbohydrates and lipids) may account for the observed differences.  相似文献

The RecA loading activity of the RecBCD enzyme, together with its helicase and 5' --> 3' exonuclease activities, is essential for recombination in Escherichia coli. One particular mutant in the nuclease catalytic center of RecB, i.e., recB1080, produces an enzyme that does not have nuclease activity and is unable to load RecA protein onto single-stranded DNA. There are, however, previously published contradictory data on the recombination proficiency of this mutant. In a recF(-) background the recB1080 mutant is recombination deficient, whereas in a recF(+) genetic background it is recombination proficient. A possible explanation for these contrasting phenotypes may be that the RecFOR system promotes RecA-single-strand DNA filament formation and replaces the RecA loading defect of the RecB1080CD enzyme. We tested this hypothesis by using three in vivo assays. We compared the recombination proficiencies of recB1080, recO, recR, and recF single mutants and recB1080 recO, recB1080 recR, and recB1080 recF double mutants. We show that RecFOR functions rescue the repair and recombination deficiency of the recB1080 mutant and that RecA loading is independent of RecFOR in the recB1080 recD double mutant where this activity is provided by the RecB1080C(D(-)) enzyme. According to our results as well as previous data, three essential activities for the initiation of recombination in the recB1080 mutant are provided by different proteins, i.e., helicase activity by RecB1080CD, 5' --> 3' exonuclease by RecJ- and RecA-single-stranded DNA filament formation by RecFOR.  相似文献
