In the following work the influence of air-ions and ozone on the selected microorganisms, first of all on Staphylococcus epidermidis is discussed. Carried out investigations proved that the levels of air-ions concentrations, causing specific changes in the development of particular microorganisms, are very differentiated and depend on individual parameters of those organisms. These levels are generally characterized by high values of concentrations, range n +/- =4 x 10(6) ions/cm3 and are connected with the type of the air-ions used. However investigations did not confirm any negative influence of the positive air-ions seen as a destructive factor upon any of the investigated microorganisms.  相似文献

Reactions of metallation and non-covalent interactions have been studied in ternary systems of Cu(II) ions with uridine, uridine 5'-monophosphate and diamines or triamines. It has been found that in metal-free systems the reaction centres of the nucleoside with the polyamine are the donor nitrogen atoms N(3) and protonated -NH(x) groups of the amines. In comparison to systems with adenosine or cytidine, the pH range of complex formation is shifted towards higher values. It is a consequence of significantly higher basicity of uridine and in agreement with the ion-ion, ion-dipole interaction model assumed. Formation of molecular complexes of uridine 5'-monophosphate with polyamines at a low pH is the result of activity of the phosphate group which plays the role of a negatively charged reaction site. Non-covalent interactions interfere in processes of bioligand metallation. Centres of weak interactions are simultaneously binding sites of metal ions. In protonated Cu(Urd)(PA)H(x) complexes, coordination has been found to involve the N(3) atom from the nucleoside and two donor nitrogen atoms from the polyamine (PA). In the heteroligand species Cu(Urd)(PA), despite deprotonation of all amine groups, one of these groups is located outside the inner coordination sphere. In complexes with uridine-5'-monophosphate, the phosphate group is active in metallation. Moreover, in certain coordination compounds this group is engaged in non-covalent interactions with PA molecules, despite binding Cu ions, as has been shown on the basis of equilibrium and spectral studies.  相似文献

The interactions of copper(II) complexes of kanamycin A with oxidation-susceptible biomolecules: 2'-deoxyguanosine, plasmid DNA and yeast tRNA(Phe) were studied in both the presence and absence of hydrogen peroxide. The mixture of complex with H(2)O(2) was found to be an efficient oxidant, converting dG to its 8-oxo derivative, generating strand breaks in plasmid DNA and multiple cleavages in tRNA(Phe). Some of these reactions may play a role in toxic effects of aminoglycoside antibiotics. These complexes were screened for their antibacterial activity. The microbiological studies undertaken to compare the bactericidal action of kanamycin A alone and complexed with copper(II) ions in both neutral and oxidative environment revealed that the enhancement of bactericidal action by Cu(II) was not statistically significant.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of active ulcerative colitis (UC) treatment on transforming growth factor beta(1) (TGF-beta(1)) concentration in plasma and rectal mucosa measured in 28 patients. The highest plasma values were observed in patients with the severe course of the disease (74.2+/-14.0 ng/ml), and they were significantly higher than in the group with mild one (43.7+/-5.6 ng/ml). Mean TGF-beta(1) measured in mucosal samples from patients with severe UC (563+/-146 pg/mg protein) doubled values from patients with mild UC (286+/-65 pg/mg protein). Plasma and mucosal TGF-beta(1) correlated significantly with disease activity index (DAI) and clinical activity index (CAI). Plasma TGF-beta(1) correlated additionally with scored endoscopic degree of mucosal injury. Treatment caused significant decrease of plasma and mucosal TGF-beta(1) concentrations. Patients who responded completely had higher baseline plasma and mucosal TGF-beta(1) that decreased significantly after the treatment. These results show that plasma and mucosal concentrations of transforming growth factor beta(1) are strongly associated with ulcerative colitis activity, and successful treatment of the disease results with decrease of their levels. More effective response to the treatment can be achieved in patients with higher baseline concentrations of TGF-beta(1).  相似文献

The effect of matriconditioning, the physiological presowing seed technique, using Micro-Cel E on Allium cepa L. cv. Czerniakowska seed quality was studied. Several ratios of seeds, carrier, water and time of priming were tested. The most effective treatment for improving onion seed germination at most tested temperatures was priming to a ratio of 2 g seed:1 g Micro-Cel:3 g water for 5 days in light at 15 °C. Matriconditioning greatly improved the germination and emergence percentage, seedling fresh and dry weight and reduced electrolyte leakage compared to that of untreated seeds; this beneficial effect was especially evident at suboptimal temperatures. Matriconditioning improved the germinability of aged seeds, the effect being more pronounced in the more aged seeds. No significant differences in ethylene production by primed and non-primed seeds were observed in the absence of its precursor, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), but its presence during imbibition caused an increase in ethylene production; an enhanced activity of in vivo ACC oxidase in Allium cepa matriconditioned seeds in comparison to untreated seeds, indicates that the endogenous level of ACC is a limiting factor of ethylene production. Likewise, the activity of ACC oxidase isolated from matriconditioned seeds was higher than that from untreated seeds. Higher endo--mannanase and total dehydrogenase activities were observed in primed air-dried seeds in comparing to non-primed seeds.  相似文献

Micellar electrokinetic chromatography with UV absorbance detection has been applied for fast and selective determination of creatinine in samples of postdialysate fluid. Optimization of the method was performed, with the best results being obtained using a 30 mM borate-100 mM sodium dodecyl sulphate background electrolyte, pH 9, with the detector set at 235 nm and an applied voltage of 17 kV across a fused-silica capillary of 67 cm/75 micro m I.D. The linear range of the technique was over 2 orders of magnitude (5-1000 micro M). The developed analytical procedure is useful for the monitoring of clinical hemodialysis treatment, because creatinine levels in real undiluted samples of postdialysate range from 80 to 350 micro M. The separation system allows the analysis of about six to seven samples of spent dialysate per hour in almost real time. The determinations are not influenced by other components of dialysate fluid nor by other surrogates extracted from patient blood. The results of analysis using the developed procedure and the kinetic spectrophotometric Jaffe method conventionally used in clinical settings for creatinine determination are fully comparable. Successful clinical evaluation of the analytical system was performed. The developed system is useful for bloodless estimation of bioanalytical parameters of hemodialysis sessions such as creatinine-time profiles and total creatinine removal. Both these parameters are important in clinical models of hemodialysis therapy.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to assess the LIF (leukemia inhibitory factor) concentration in uterine flushing and serum (ELISA) of women with proven fertility, infertile women and women with recurrent miscarriage. In addition, progesterone level was determined in serum. A decreased production of LIF in the uterine microenvironment was found in states of impaired fertility. With a cut-off point of 8.23 pg/ml for LIF level in uterine flushings we have achieved 86.7% sensitivity and 100% specificity in detection of women with idiopathic infertility compared to fertile controls. No correlation between LIF in serum and uterine flushing was demonstrated, rendering LIF measurements in serum useless for diagnosis of impaired infertility. We conclude that LIF measurement in uterine flushing could be a useful diagnostic tool to predict unsuccessful implantation.  相似文献

The adsorption isotherm data of (R)- and (S)-1-indanol and of their racemic mixture on cellulose tribenzoate were measured by frontal analysis. The experimental data for each enantiomers were fitted to the single-component bilangmuir isotherm model. The competitive experimental data were fitted to the ideal adsorption solution model (IAS), the real adsorption solution model (RAS), and the bilangmuir thermodynamically consistent model (BTC). The mass transfer kinetic parameters were estimated from systematic comparisons between the experimental single-component band profiles and profiles calculated using the general rate model (GR) of chromatography coupled with the generalized Maxwell-Stefan equation (GMS). The validation of the isotherm model and of the mass transfer kinetic model was made by comparing the experimental band profiles obtained for solutions of the two enantiomers and those calculated with the competitive GR-GMS model. The excellent agreement observed proves that a combination of the BTC isotherm model and the GMS kinetic model, using the best values of the BTC and GMS parameters estimated from single component experiments, allows an excellent prediction of the binary isotherm and the binary mass transfer kinetics.  相似文献
