The internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of solid‐state dye sensitized solar cells (ssDSCs) is measured using a hybrid optical modeling plus absorptance measurement approach which takes into account the parasitic absorption of the hole transport material (HTM). Across device thicknesses of 1 to 4 microns, ssDSCs sensitized with Z907 and TT1 dyes display relatively constant IQEs of approximately 88% and 36%, respectively, suggesting excellent charge collection efficiencies for both dyes but poor carrier injection for TT1 devices. The addition of more coadsorbent is shown to increase the IQE of TT1 up to approximately 58%, but significantly lowers dye loading. Finally, optical losses due to absorption by the HTM are quantified and found to be a significant contribution to photocurrent losses for ssDSCs sensitized with poor absorbers such as Z907, as the weak absorption of the dye gives the HTM opportunity for significant parasitic absorption within the active layer. 相似文献

Haptoglobin (Hp) is an acute-phase protein that is produced by the liver to capture the iron that is present in the blood circulation, thus avoiding its accumulation in the blood. Moreover, Hp has been detected in a wide variety of tissues, in which it performs various functions. In addition, this protein is considered a potential biomarker in many diseases, such as cancer, including ovarian carcinoma; however, its participation in the cancerous processes has not yet been determined. The objective of this work was to demonstrate the expression of Hp and its receptor CCR2 in the ovarian cancer cells and its possible involvement in the process of cell migration through changes in the rearrangement of the actin cytoskeleton using western blot and wound-healing assays and confirming by confocal microscopy. Ovarian cancer cells express both Hp and its receptor CCR2 but only after exposure to ascitic fluid, inducing moderated cell migration. However, when the cells are exposed to exogenous Hp, the expression of CCR2 is induced together with drastic changes in the actin cytoskeleton rearrangement. At the same time, Hp induced cell migration in a much more efficient manner than did ascitic fluid. These effects were blocked when the CCR2 synthetic antagonist RS102895 was used to pretreat the cells. These results suggest that Hp-induced changes in the cell morphology, actin cytoskeleton structure, and migration ability of tumor cells, is possibly “preparing” these cells for the potential induction of the metastatic phenotype. 相似文献

Controlled localization of class II MHC molecules is essential for proper class II MHC-restricted antigen presentation and the subsequent initiation of an adaptive immune response. Ubiquitination of class II MHC molecules on cytosolic lysine (K225) of the β-chain has been shown to affect localization of the complex. We generated mice in which the endogenous β-chain locus is replaced with a GFP tagged mutant version that lacks the cytosolic lysine residue (I-A-β-K225R-EGFP). These mice have elevated levels of class II MHC as compared to I-A-β-EGFP mice, and immature bone marrow-derived dendritic cells show redistribution of class II MHC to the cell surface. Nonetheless, in these same cells efficiency of antigen presentation is unaffected in I-A-β-K225R-EGFP mice, as assayed for presentation of ovalbumin to appropriately specific T cells. The I-A-β-K225R-EGFP animals have normal CD4 T cell populations and are capable of generating antigen-specific antibody in response to model antigens and viral infection. We therefore conclude that in our experimental system modulation of trafficking by ubiquitination of residue K225 of the β-chain is not essential for the function of class II MHC products in antigen presentation or antibody production. 相似文献

Interindividual and ethnic variation in glycated hemoglobin levels, unrelated to blood glucose variation, complicates the clinical use of glycated hemoglobin assays for the diagnosis and management of diabetes. Assessing the types and amounts of glycated hemoglobins present in erythrocytes could provide insight into the mechanism. Blood samples and self-monitored mean blood glucose (MBG) levels were obtained from 85 pediatric type 1 diabetes patients. Glycated hemoglobin levels were measured using three primary assays (boronate-affinity chromatography, capillary isoelectric focusing (CIEF), and standardized DCA2000+ immunoassay) and a two-dimensional (2D) analytical system consisting of boronate-affinity chromatography followed by CIEF. The 2D system separated hemoglobin into five subfractions, four of which contained glycated hemoglobins. Glycated hemoglobin measurements were compared in patients with low, moderate, or high hemoglobin glycation index (HGI), a measure of glycated hemoglobin controlled for blood glucose variation. MBG was not significantly different between HGI groups. Glycated hemoglobin levels measured by all three primary assays and in all four glycated 2D subfractions were significantly different between HGI groups and highest in high HGI patients. These results show that interindividual variation in glycated hemoglobin levels was evident in diabetes patients with similar blood glucose levels regardless of which glycated hemoglobins were measured. 相似文献

Mexico is the main producer, consumer and exporter
of avocado in the world, being Michoacan the main producer state
contributing more than 80% of the national production. There
are phytopathogens that decimate the production causing the
death of the tree. Root samples were collected in avocado trees
that showed the characteristic symptomatology of the disease
known as avocado sadness, the sampling was carried out in four
of the main avocado producing towns, in the state of Michoacan,
Mexico. The isolation consisted in sowing root tissue in Petri
dishes with V8®-PARPH culture medium, subsequently they were
identified morphologically and for species level it was determined
by molecular biology, with the PCR-ITS technique. Pathogenicity
tests were performed in triplicate with avocado seedlings with more
than six leaves. After 24 hours, the inoculated plants expressed
decay in the apical part, after 120 hours the leaves showed yellowing
and after 15 days there was a generalized wilt on the stem and
leaves, re-isolating the phytopathogen Phytopythium vexans.
This study confirms the first report of the oomycete P. vexans
affecting avocado trees in the most important producing region of

Metal‐halide perovskites show promise as highly efficient solar cells, light‐emitting diodes, and other optoelectronic devices. Ensuring long‐term stability is now a major priority. In this study, an ultrathin (2 nm) layer of polyethylenimine ethoxylated (PEIE) is used to functionalize the surface of C60 for the subsequent deposition of atomic layer deposition (ALD) SnO2, a commonly used electron contact bilayer for p–i–n devices. The enhanced nucleation results in a more continuous initial ALD SnO2 layer that exhibits superior barrier properties, protecting Cs0.25FA0.75Pb(Br0.20I0.80)3 films upon direct exposure to high temperatures (200 °C) and water. This surface modification with PEIE translates to more stable solar cells under aggressive testing conditions in air at 60 °C under illumination. This type of “built‐in” barrier layer mitigates degradation pathways not addressed by external encapsulation, such as internal halide or metal diffusion, while maintaining high device efficiency up to 18.5%. This nucleation strategy is also extended to ALD VOx films, demonstrating its potential to be broadly applied to other metal oxide contacts and device architectures. 相似文献

Glucose spontaneously reacts with hemoglobin amino groups to produce unstable Schiff base complexes that can dissociate or rearrange to form stable Amadori products. We used dynamic capillary isoelectric focusing and boronate affinity chromatography to assess the formation and dissociation of unstable hemoglobin complexes in vitro. Formation was studied by incubating erythrocytes at 37°C for up to 24h in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) supplemented with 0 to 55.6 mmol/L glucose. Dissociation was studied by incubating glucose-loaded erythrocytes in PBS without glucose. Dynamic capillary isoelectric focusing separated hemoglobin A1c into two subfractions identified as A1c1 and A1c2. The A1c1 subfraction contained both stable and unstable hemoglobin complexes. The A1c2 subfraction contained only unstable hemoglobin complexes. Both subfractions quantitatively increased in the presence of glucose and decreased in its absence. Rates of increase and decrease were faster and time to equilibrium was shorter for A1c2 (~4 h) compared with A1c1 (~20 h). Unstable hemoglobin complexes did not bind to boronate affinity columns but instead eluted intact in A1c1 and A1c2 subfractions from nonglycated affinity fractions. Cyanoborohydride reduction confirmed the presence of Schiff base complexes. Evidence of multiple unstable hemoglobin complexes with different rates of glycation suggests that new models are needed to describe nonenzymatic hemoglobin glycation. 相似文献
