In this study we provide a phylogenetically based introduction to the classes and orders of Pucciniomycotina (= Urediniomycetes), one of three subphyla of Basidiomycota. More than 8000 species of Pucciniomycotina have been described including putative saprotrophs and parasites of plants, animals and fungi. The overwhelming majority of these (approximately 90%) belong to a single order of obligate plant pathogens, the Pucciniales (= Uredinales), or rust fungi. We have assembled a dataset of previously published and newly generated sequence data from two nuclear rDNA genes (large subunit and small subunit) including exemplars from all known major groups in order to test hypotheses about evolutionary relationships among the Pucciniomycotina. The utility of combining nuc-lsu sequences spanning the entire D1-D3 region with complete nuc-ssu sequences for resolution and support of nodes is discussed. Our study confirms Pucciniomycotina as a monophyletic group of Basidiomycota. In total our results support eight major clades ranked as classes (Agaricostilbomycetes, Atractiellomycetes, Classiculomycetes, Cryptomycocolacomycetes, Cystobasidiomycetes, Microbotryomycetes, Mixiomycetes and Pucciniomycetes) and 18 orders.  相似文献

A twin study of infant attachment security at age 24 months was conducted on archival data for a sample of 99 MZ pairs and 108 DZ pairs from the Louisville Twin Study. MZ concordance for attachment was 62.6%, which was significantly greater than the DZ concordance of 44.4%. Concordances were transformed into polychoric correlations, and LISREL was used to conduct a quantitative genetic analysis of the data. Results indicated that 25% of the variability in attachment was attributable to genetic factors, and the remaining 75% was attributable to non-shared environmental effects. No evidence was found for a contribution from shared environmental influences to attachment security. Possible concerns about the validity of twin methodology are addressed and various interpretations of the results are presented.  相似文献

Abstract— Paired iris smooth muscles from rabbits were prelabelled either in vitro by incubation for 30 min at 37°C in an iso-osmotic salt medium containing glucose, inositol, cytidine and 32Pi, or in vivo by administration of the isotope intracamerally into each eye 1 h before death. One of the pair was then incubated at 37°C for 10 min in an unlabelled medium containing 10 mm of 2-deoxyglucose and the other was incubated in the presence of norepinephrine (NE) or other adrenergic agents. Triphosphoinositide (TPI) was found to contain more 32P than any other phospholipid (almost 39% of total lipid radioactivity) in both the in vitro and in vivo experiments. NE (50 μm ) increased the loss of 32P from TPI (the TPI effect') by 28–30% in the 32P-labelled muscle. The TPI effect was accompanied by a significant increase in 32P labelling of phosphatidic acid (PA) and phosphatidylinositol (PI) but not phosphatidylcoholine. In this tissue the TPI effect was found to be mediated through α-adrenergic receptors. At 14 days after surgical sympathetic denervation, incorporation of 32P into phospholipids of the denervated muscle increased by an average of 6% over that of the normal muscle. The increase in TPI, PI and PA was 7%, 4% and 9% of that of the control respectively. There was little change in phospholipid content of the denervated muscle. The increase in sensitivity to NE (12.5 μm ) caused by denervation produced about 18% increase in the TPI effect and a 25% increase in the 32P labelling of PA, but not PI. In view of our previous findings on the requirement of the TPI effect for Ca2+, this observation could suggest that an increase in Ca2+ influx, following the interaction between the neurotransmitter and its receptor could stimulate TPI-phosphodiesterase, thus leading to increased PA via increased diglyceride. This denervation-induced supersensitivity to NE appears to be postsynaptic in nature. 32Pi was injected intracamerally into each eye 1 h before electrical stimulation of one of the sympathetic trunks. After stimulation for 30 min there was a significant loss of 32P from TPI and a significant increase in the labelling of PI and PA of the stimulated muscle. It is concluded that TPI and its enzymes could play an important role in neurotransmission at the neuromuscular junction of smooth muscle.  相似文献

Hair color was assessed routinely from three months to six years for children participating in a longitudinal study of twins: 169 female twin pairs, 161 male pairs, and 60 opposite-sex pairs. Age trends, established by sampling only one number of every pair, showed marked changes in hair color for both sexes, but there was a consistent excess of light-haired males and dark-haired females. Within-pair concordance rates were calculated for same-sex pairs whose zygosity had been determined independently through bloodtyping. A high rate of concordance was found for MZ twins at every age in spite of the general change in hair color, indicating a strong genetic influence in the timing of color changes. The results are discussed in terms of accelerated maturation of females, and the need for genetic models of the inheritance of hair color which are age- and sex-specific.  相似文献

Although homology modelling has successfully been applied for prediction of protein structures, very often domain-domain interactions cannot be inferred from the structures of homologues and their prediction requiresab initiomethods. We sampled and analyzed approximately 2900bp across the three loci from 54 taxa belonging to a taxonomically difficult group of Cortinarius subgenus Phlegmacium. The combined analyses of ITS and variable regions of RPB1 and RPB2 greatly increase the resolution and nodal support for phylogenies of these closely related species belonging to clades that until now have proven very difficult to resolve with the ribosomal markers, nLSU and ITS. We present the first study of the utility of variable regions of the genes encoding the two largest subunits of RNA polymerase II (RPB1 and RPB2) for inferring the phylogeny of mushroom-forming fungi in combination with and compared to the widely used ribosomal marker ITS. The studied region of RPB1 contains an intron of the size and variability of ITS along with many variable positions in coding regions. Though almost entirely coding, the studied region of RPB2 is more variable than ITS. Both RNA polymerase II genes were alignable across all taxa. Our results indicate that several sections of Cortinarius need redefinition, and that several taxa treated at subspecific and varietal level should be treated at specific level. We suggest a new section for the two species, C. caesiocortinatus and C. prasinocyaneus, which constitute a well-supported separate lineage. We speculate that sequence information from RNA polymerase II genes have the potential for resolving phylogenetic problems at several levels of the diverse and taxonomically very challenging genus Cortinarius.  相似文献

An investigation of mushroom phylogeny using the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II gene sequences (RPB1) was conducted in comparison with nuclear ribosomal large subunit RNA gene sequences (nLSU) for the same set of taxa in the genus Inocybe (Agaricales, Basidiomycota). The two data sets, though not significantly incongruent, exhibit conflict among the placement of two taxa that exhibit long branches in the nLSU data set. In contrast, RPB1 terminal branch lengths are rather uniform. Bootstrap support is increased for clades in RPB1. Combined data sets increase the degree of confidence for several relationships. Overall, nLSU data do not yield a robust phylogeny when independently assessed by RPB1 sequences. This multigene study indicates that Inocybe is a monophyletic group composed of at least four distinct lineages-subgenus Mallocybe, section Cervicolores, section Rimosae, and subgenus Inocybe sensu Kühner, Kuyper, non Singer. Within subgenus Inocybe, two additional lineages, one composed of species with smooth basidiospores (clade I) and a second characterized by nodulose-spored species (clade II), are recovered by RPB1 and combined data. The nLSU data recover only clade I. The genera Astrosporina and Inocybella cannot be recognized phylogenetically. "Supersections" Cortinatae and Marginatae are not monophyletic groups.  相似文献
