Genealogical analysis was employed in studying the time course of changes in genetic diversity of spring barley cultivars released in former Czechoslovakia and the modem Czech Republic. Cultivars from different regions proved to significantly differ in the distribution of dominant ancestor contributions, suggesting a specificity of original ancestors to different cultivation conditions. A comparison of cultivar groups differing in end use showed that the genetic diversity of malting cultivars was significantly lower than that of feed cultivars, although modern malting and feed cultivars of Czechia and Slovakia have virtually the same genetic basis. Temporal analysis showed that diversity tended to increase through decades. While new original ancestors were introduced in pedigrees, especially in the past 30 years, the number of local landraces and old cultivars gradually decreased. The losses accounted for about two-thirds of the local germplasm. Thus, a substantial increase in genetic diversity was accompanied by genetic erosion of the local spring barley gene pool of former Czechoslovakia. A cluster structure was observed for the set of spring barley cultivars released in the postwar period. The coefficient of parentage averaged overall possible pairs of cultivars introduced in the Czech National List was estimated at 0.11. It was concluded that the genetic diversity of modern spring barley cultivars in the Czech Republic is at an acceptable level.  相似文献

Hybrid necrosis genotypes have been identified in 125 Russian cultivars of winter bread wheat. More than half of them (56%) carry the Ne2 gene (genotype ne1ne1Ne2Ne2); others are free of necrosis genes (genotype ne1ne1ne2ne2). The possible causes of the increase in the Ne2 allele frequency and the loss of the Ne1Ne1ne2ne2 genotype in modem Russian cultivars of winter wheat are discussed. The principal component method has been used to compare the structures of the genetic diversity of cultivars differing in the hybrid necrosis genotype. It has been found that the Ne2 allele in winter wheat cultivars from northern Russia has originated from the cultivar Mironovskaya 808, whereas the cultivar Bezostaya 1 is not a source of this gene. In cultivars from southern Russia, the presence of the Ne2 allele is also mainly accounted for by the use of Mironovskaya 808 wheat in their breeding. The recessive genotype is explained by the presence of descendants of the cultivar Odesskaya 16 in the pedigrees of southern Russian winter wheats. The genetic relationship of cultivars with identical and different necrosis genotypes has been analyzed in nine regions of the Russian Federation.  相似文献

Electrophoresis in starch gel has been used to study the polymorphism of hordeins encoded by loci Hrd A, Hrd B, and Hrd F in 140 local barley populations from the Near East, including 60, 34, 33, 8, and 5 populations from Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, and Israel, respectively. Fifty-seven Hrd A, 87 Hrd B, and 5 Hrd F alleles have been found. The alleles of these loci considerably differ in frequencies and distribution in populations from different Near Eastern countries. Cluster analysis of the matrix of the frequencies of hordein locus alleles in barley populations from the Near East, North Africa, Ethiopia, and South Arabia has yielded two clusters. The first cluster includes barley populations from Israel, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt; the second cluster, populations from Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, and Ethiopia.  相似文献

The FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) gene controls the transition of arabidopsis plants to flowering following cold induction (vernalization). Time to flowering in annual and biennial species of Brassicaceae supposedly depends on the number of FLC copies. We analyzed DNA restriction fragment length polymorphism in six Brassica species with diploid (AA, BB, and CC) and allotetraploid (AABB, AACC, and BBCC) genomes using for a hybridization probe an FLC homolog previously cloned in our laboratory from B. juncea. A prototype of new instrument is under construction as a part of Russian Mars program to search for bioorganic compounds and microorganisms which might be frozen in rock under the places where the traces of water were found or near the poles of Mars. Carriage frequencies of alleles and genotypes of polymorphic loci of inflammation genes (49A>G CTLA4, 41G>A and 87C>T PDE4D, ?590C>T IL4, ?308A>G TNF, 252G>A LTA, 874A>T IFNG, ?509С>Т, 869T>C and 915G>C TGFB1) were determined in a sample of 200 patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke and in the control group similar in gender and age (146 individuals), all ethnic Russians. The positive association of the allele PDE4D*87C (р = 0.028) and genotype TGFB1*?509Т/Т (р = 0.02) carriage with ischemic stroke was shown. The association of the disease with the carriage of the allele PDE4D*41А (р = 0.009) in individuals under the age of 60 and with carriage of the allele IFNG*874Т (р = 0.02) in individuals older than 60 was observed among the subgroups of patients stratified by age when they suffered the stroke compared to a control group of the same age. In subgroups stratified by gender, carriage of the genotype TGFB1*915G/G (р = 0.0015) was identified as a risk factor in male patients, while no significant differences between female patients and healthy women were observed. Multilocus analysis was undertaken to search for the association of several combinations of studied gene variants with ischemic stroke. The polymorphic locus–174G>C of the IL6 gene, for which an association with the disease was previously demonstrated, was also included in this analysis. The disease-predisposing biallelic combinations include the IL6*?174G, PDE4D*87C, TGFB1*?509Т and TGFB1*915G alleles. In the subgroups stratified by gender, the allelic combinations mainly include the similar risk alleles as in the total group, while between the subgroups stratified by age (patients who suffered the first stroke at the age of 18 and no older than 60 years and older than 60 years), greater differences were observed. However, a new risk allele, LTA*252G, was identified in combination with PDE4D*41А in women. These findings demonstrate the important role of inflammation in ischemic stroke. The identified single and combined markers may be used further to determine an individual risk for ischemic stroke.  相似文献

The present paper aims to assess the host-selectivity and host-switching behaviour of the comatulid associated ophiuroid Gymnolohpus obscura. The relationships between size-structure, distribution and infestation characteristics of G. obscura were assessed among all available feather star species in the Bay of Nhatrang, Vietnam, together with the frequency of injuries among symbiont size classes. Our data show that despite the fairly wide host distribution ranges, not all of them are equally infested by G. obscura, likely because of host morphology, size and location on the substrate. The most preferred hosts were the comatulids Comaster nobilis and Comanthus parvicirrus, which were preferably infested by larger symbionts. The highest frequency of injuries was found in symbionts with disks ranging from 0.6 to1 cm in diameter, tracing a host-to-host migration behaviour leading to a sharp fall in abundance in the 1.1–1.5 cm size class. Our results suggest that host-switching (either between the same or among different host species) is a characteristic behaviour of G. obscura, driven by either intraspecific competition and/or by searching for more favourable trophic or protective conditions.  相似文献

Photoreceptor discs from rod outer segments of cattle retina were treated with (a) papain, (b) thermolysin or (c) trypsin, the procedures resulting in the cleavage of the rhodopsin polypeptide chain between (a) 323 and 324, 236 and 237, 241 and 242, (b) 327 and 328, 240 and 241, or (c) 339 and 340 amino acid residues, respectively. In all the cases, partially digested rhodopsins proved to be competent in generating photoelectric potential and increasing membrane conductance of the discs adsorbed onto phospholipid-impregnated collodion film. The kinetics of generation and dissipation of photopotential as well as of formation of metarhodopsin II and of the light-induced rhodopsin protonation were found to be the same in the partially digested preparations and in the intact one. Incubation of papain-treated or thermolysin-treated discs at pH 6.0 induced formation of inside-out vesicles which, when incorporated into the collodion film, generated an oppositely directed photopotential. Treatment of such vesicles with papain gave rise to further cleavages of the polypeptide localized between 30 and 31, 186 and 187 amino acid residues. One more proteinase-sensitive site, localized between 104 and 105 residues, has been discovered in the inside-out vesicles treated with thermolysin. This fact consistent with the scheme of the 'seven column' arrangement of the visual rhodopsin [Ovchinnikov, Yu. A. (1982) FEBS Lett. 148, 179-191]. Rhodopsin, when treated with papain on both sides, was deprived of sixty amino acid residues being split in two sites in the middle part of the polypeptide, but was still active as a photoelectric energy transducer. The main specific feature inherent in the photoelectric response of the papain-treated or thermolysin-treated rhodopsin and absent from the native protein is that the former survives addition of long trains of saturating flashes when the response of the intact preparation becomes negligible. This effect was shown to be due to conversion of partially digested rhodopsin to a photolytic product that at room temperature lived for minutes even in the presence of NH2OH. A 532-nm laser flash effectively converted this product back to rhodopsin.  相似文献

The kinetic and regulatory characteristics of the oxidation metabolism of glucose, whose differences in collection cultures correspond to their capacity for growth in fluid culture medium under the conditions of aeration and the periodic addition of glucose, have been proposed on the basis of the polarographic method used for the registration of microbial breath in vaccine strain EV. Pronounced metabolic disturbances resulting from the prolonged storage of the stock culture and working standards of strain EV lead to the deterioration of their working properties.  相似文献
