Summary The composition of the root exudates of barley and wheat in the initial growth phases was investigated; amino acids, organic acids, sugars and certain aromatic compounds could be identified. A knowledge of the composition of root exudates is important from the standpoint of the interaction between the plants and the micro-organisms in the rhizosphere. Summary A study of enzymatic equipment of enterochromaffine cells (e.c.) in jenual biopsies obtained with a Crosby capsule in normal humans and patients with nontropical sprue was undertaken. The following enzymes were demonstrated: alkaline phosphatase and adenosine triphosphatase (cell membrane), acid phosphatase (corpuscular), non-specific esterase (diffuse and corpuscular, predominantly eserine resistant, in corpuscular localization E 600 resistant), DPN- and TPN-diaphorases and dehydrogenases of lactic acid, malic acid, isocitric acid, glucoso-6-phosphoric acid, succinic acid, -hydroxybutyric acid and -glycerophosphoric acid. Enzyme activities were not equal in all cells suggesting some type of secretory cycle. In most patients with untreated nontropical sprue or with the disease in relapse e.c. were more numerous and hypertrophic with elevated activities of non-specific esterase and acid phosphatase. Morphofunctional changes in the exocrine pancreatic cells in acute experimental pancreatitis in rats
Experimental pancreatitis was induced by cooling the splenetic part of rat pancreas with chlorethyl, and the cells of duodenal area of the pancreas were studied at different stages of pancreatitis using cytomorphometry, cytomorphology and autoradiography. Interlobular and interacinar oedemas were observed at the first hours after treatment. In 24 hours the intracellular oedema of exocrine pancreatic cells (EP) was detected. On day 14 after treatment typical acute edematous pancreatitis developed. The observed changes involve a pathological activation of EP of the duodenal area, a subsequent restoration of the structure of this area, and later a passage of pancreatitis into the chronic form. The usefulness of this model of pancreatitis for quantitative cytochemical studies of EP during pathogenesis and drug treatment is discussed. 相似文献

Confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscopy coupled to image analysis was employed in order to develop and evaluate procedures for the appraisal at the single-cell level of: (1) protein-bound 4-hydroxynonenal, the specific product of membrane peroxidation (by means of immunocytochemistry with biotin-avidin revelation); (2) protein oxidation (by reaction of protein carbonyls with 2,4-dinitrophenyl-hydrazine followed by immunocytochemistry of dinitrophenyl moieties); and (3) cellular protein thiols (by direct alkylation of sulfhydryl groups with thiol-specific fluorescent reagents possessing different cell permeabilities). The procedures proved able to reveal the subcellular distribution of cytochemical parameters useful as indices of oxidative stress conditions, and may allow redox phenotyping of isolated cells, which would provide an efficient tool in selected experimental models. 相似文献
