Summary A study of enzymatic equipment of enterochromaffine cells (e.c.) in jenual biopsies obtained with a Crosby capsule in normal humans and patients with nontropical sprue was undertaken. The following enzymes were demonstrated: alkaline phosphatase and adenosine triphosphatase (cell membrane), acid phosphatase (corpuscular), non-specific esterase (diffuse and corpuscular, predominantly eserine resistant, in corpuscular localization E 600 resistant), DPN- and TPN-diaphorases and dehydrogenases of lactic acid, malic acid, isocitric acid, glucoso-6-phosphoric acid, succinic acid, -hydroxybutyric acid and -glycerophosphoric acid. Enzyme activities were not equal in all cells suggesting some type of secretory cycle. In most patients with untreated nontropical sprue or with the disease in relapse e.c. were more numerous and hypertrophic with elevated activities of non-specific esterase and acid phosphatase. Chenopodium species react on infection with tobacco mosaic virus by the formation of chlorotic or necrotic lesions and later by the abscission of infected leaves. A transition of local infection into the stem has been observed exceptionally inChenopodium quinoa, C. hybridum, andC. rubrum, but no systemic infection of the leaves followed. Les travaux deSarà (1953) et deBurton (1963) ont remis en question la valeur systématique des caractères morphologiques dans la classification des Eponges Calcaires, et ont proposé de considérer de nombreuses formes connues comme des variétés individuelles et régionales d'espèces très plastiques et variables. Nous avons essayé de préciser, par l'observation directe en plongée libre, la distribution et les préférences écologiques des Calcaires, de définir ainsi les limites naturelles de leurs populations, et d'étudier ensuite la variabilité des caractères morphologiques à l'intérieur de ces populations.2. Nous exposons ici l'exemple des espèces des genresClathrina etAscandra, étudiées en Adriatique, dans les régions de Marseille et de Roscoff. Leur distribution est en rapport direct et très précis avec l'exposition aux vagues et à la lumière, à tel point que sur une surface réduite plusieurs espèces se succèdent et se remplacent en fonction de l'exposition de l'endroit. Dans la règion de Roscoff cette distribution est plus large ce qui est dû aux effets des marées, mais les zones écologique préférentielles pour les espèces deClathrina ont pu être établies en fonction de l'importance de l'apport des sédiments par les eaux côtières.3. La possibilité de définir des populations dont la distribution est très précisemment délimitée malgré une coexistence dans un espace réduit, et qui ne sont pas réliées par les formes transitoires, permet d'éliminer l'hypothèse de la cospécificité de ces populations. Elle permet également d'établir les variations morphologiques possibles au sein d'une espèce, de retenir les caractères significatifs pour la classification, et finalement de distinguer les espèces qui se ressemblent morphologiquement. Dans le cas d'animaux qui, commeClathrina, possèdent très peu de caractères utilisables en systématique, c'est la seule façon de résoudre les problèmes de leur taxonomie.
The importance of research on the ecological distribution for the taxonomy of calcareous sponges
The particular difficulties of the taxonomy of calcareous sponges are due to their great plasticity and their capacity for adaptation which obscure the natural limits of species. An attempt was made to define the natural populations of the Mediterranean species of the generaClathrina andAscandra through a study of their ecological distributions. The populations not connected by the transitory forms were defined by their ecological preferences, and, as they are found in a close cohabitation, were treated as having the specific values. The variability of different morphological features is discussed, the features significant for taxonomy are pointed out and the morphologically close species are defined.相似文献

Agents known to influence Ca2+ homeostasis affected significantly the vegetative growth and starvation-induced conidiation ofTrichoderma viride. Ca2+ in millimolar concentrations stimulated both growth and conidiation; a Ca2+ deprivation of the fungus by the chelation of extracellular Ca2+ (not Mg2+ or divalent trace metals) with EGTA (ethyleneglycolbis(2-aminoethylether)-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetic acid) restricted both the
vegetative growth rate and starvation-induced conidiation. Both processes were affected by either Ca2+ or EGTA with different efficiencies. Divalent cations (Sr2+, Ba2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mg2+, Cd2+, Cu2+, Mn2+) and La3+ (inorganic Ca2+ blockers) in millimolar concentrations exerted complex (stimulatory, inhibitory, or biphasic) effects on growth and conidiation.
In general, their effects on the two processes were mutually different either qualitatively, or quantitatively, or both. Organic
Ca2+ antagonists (verapamil and dihydropyridines) inhibited the vegetative growth. The results show that Ca2+ is required for vegetative growth and conidiation, and that different Ca2+-dependent mechanisms may be involved in the two processes. Vanadate (NaVO3) in concentrations between 0.1–3.0 mmol/L inhibited the production of secondary metabolites (SMs) of strains of the following
species:Trichoderma viride, Penicillium purpurogenum, Penicillium citrinum, Talaromyces avellaneus, andVerticillium psalliotœ. Growth was either not affected by NaVO3, or the inhibition of the SM production occurred at lower NaVO3, concentrations than that of the growth. Thus, at some NaVO3 concentration the SM production was inhibited but the growth remained unaffected. The results suggest that NaVO3 exerts a specific action either on the SM biosynthetic pathway(s) or on the export of SMs from cells. 相似文献

Seven streptomycete strains were tested for biotransformation of salicylate. The products were identified by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and three types of conversion were found. Streptomyces cinnamonensis and Streptomyces spectabilis formed gentisate and salicylamide concurrently. Streptomyces rimosus transformed salicylate to salicylamide. Streptomyces lividans, Streptomyces coelicolor, Streptomyces griseus and Streptomyces avermitilis produced only gentisate. Time course studies of salicylate conversion by thin-layer chromatography and high pressure liquid chromatography showed that salicylamide was accumulated in the culture broth, whereas gentisate was further metabolized.Key words: salicylate, gentisate, salicylamide, biotransformation, Streptomyces spp. 相似文献
