Six bicyclo[3,2,1]octanoid neolignans, isolated from the benzene extract of Aniba simulans Allen (Lauraceae) trunk wood, are shown to derive from two basic structures: 1-allyl-8-hydroxy-6-(3′-methoxy-4′,5′-methylenedioxyphenyl)-7-methyl-3-oxobicyclo[3,2,1]octane, substituted by 4-hydroxy, 4-hydroxy-5-methoxy, 4-methoxy or 4,5-dimethoxy groups; and 1-allyl-8-hydroxy-6-(3′-methoxy-4′,5′-methylenedioxyphenyl)-7-methyl-4-oxobicyclo[3,2,1]oct-2-ene, substituted by 3-hydroxy or 3-hydroxy-5-methoxy groups. The structural proposals are based on spectral data, interconversions synthesis of a derivative from the known (2R,3S,3aS)-3a-allyl-5-methoxy-2-(3′-methoxy,4′,5′-methylenedioxyphenyl)-3-methyl-2,3,3a,6-tetrahydro-6-oxobenzofuran.  相似文献

Human β-endorphin (15 μg) administered intracisternally increased concentrations of serotonin (5HT) and its metabolite, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic. acid (5-HIAA), in brain stem and hypothalamus and decreased 5-HIAA concentrations in hippocampus. These data are compatible with the hypothesis that β-endorphin increases 5HT turnover in brain stem and hypothalamus and decreases 5HT turnover in hippocampus. β-endorphin increased in brain stem and hypothalamus and decreased in hippocampus the rate of pargyline-induced decline of 5-HIAA. β-endorphin decreased the rate of pargyline-induced accumulation of 5HT in all these brain regions. The probenecid-induced accumulation of 5-HIAA in brain stem was decreased by β-endorphin. These data are compatible with the hypothesis that β-endorphin increases release of 5HT from neurons in brain stem and hypothalamus and decreases release of 5HT from neurons in hippocampus. The data require further a hypothesis that β-endorphin either decreases 5HT reuptake in these three brain regions or increases 5-HIAA egress from brain.  相似文献

Meiosis and sporogenesis in yeast are completely blocked by ammonia added in low concentration (10 mM) to the sporulation medium. Premeiotic DNA synthesis is not initiated in the presence of ammonium ions. The inhibitor interferes with protein turnover by reducing both synthesis and breakdown. The in vitro activities of proteinases A and B in sporulation medium supplemented with ammonia are much lower than in the control. The solution conformation of the ionophore Monensin in its free-acid form bears a close resemblance to that of its Na+ salt. The backbone is folded into a closed loop, and the pseudocyclic structure is shut by head-to-tail H bonding between the carboxylic function and the alcoholic functions of the last six-membered ring with the mediation of a water molecule. A mode of trapping is proposed and compared to features observed in some other membrane-active complexones.  相似文献

M-mode echocardiograms of two patients with bacterial endocarditis of approximately 4 months' duration showed dense echoes in the area of the aortic valve. In one patient, who had no prior abnormal cardiac findings, the echoes were clearly suggestive of valvular vegetations. The second patient, however, was known to have had aortic valve disease and a systolic murmur for more than a decade; therefore, dense echoes arising from the aortic valve also could have resulted from valvular calcification. In both patients, cross-sectional echocardiography provided important information. In the first patient, retrograde cardiac catheterization was prevented by large and highly mobile masses attached to the aortic cusps that prolapsed into the left ventricular outflow tract during diastole. Aortic valve replacement without further hemodynamic evaluation was recommended. In the second patient, whose blood cultures remained negative after the acute phase of his illness had been treated, cross-sectional echocardiography showed large vegetations on the aortic valve. Intraoperative findings confirmed the echocardiographic interpretation in each case.  相似文献

A low IgG2a response in B10 mice during the primary response to sheep red blood cells (SRBC) is described. Analysis of the response in B10 × BALB/c hybrid progenies and in congenic strains indicates that this low response is a dominant phenotype placed under the control of a single Mendelian gene or a group of closely linked genes. This gene(s) is neither linked to CH allotypes orH2 haplotypes, nor is it sex-linked. It can be considered as an isotype- and antigenspecific regulatory gene of the immune response.  相似文献

Raman spectra of antenna chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b were selectively obtained from chloroplasts of green plants and from monocellular algae, using resonance enhancement in the respective Soret bands of these molecules, at 35 K. It is shown that:

Antenna chlorophyll a molecules occur in at least five discrete categories, distinguished by different extramolecular bonding of their 9-keto carbonyl groups.

These vibrational categories are probably identical in nature and number among the different organisms studied, but differ in their relative populations.

Chlorophyll b molecules occur in at least two different categories differing by the strength of the interactions of their 3-formyl C = 0 groups. These vibrational categories also appear as universal.

Most chlorophyll a and b molecules have their magnesium atoms bound to a single foreign ligand, whose nature may depend on the population considered.

Resonance Raman spectra of antenna structures, including those of organisms devoid of chlorophyll b, were compared to resonance Raman spectra of chlorophyll a and b in monomeric, oligomeric and hydrated polymeric states, at room temperature and at 35 K. No sizable amount of antenna chlorophyll a or b occurs as dry or hydrated oligomers, or polymers. The antenna molecules are thus necessarily bound to foreign molecules, probably proteins, through H-bonding on their formyl and/or keto carbonyl groups and through bonding of their magnesium atoms.  相似文献
