Databases containing proteomic information have become indispensable for virology studies. As the gap between the amount of sequence information and functional characterization widens, increasing efforts are being directed to the development of databases. For virologist, it is therefore desirable to have a single data collection point which integrates research related data from different domains. CHPVDB is our effort to provide virologist such a one‐step information center. We describe herein the creation of CHPVDB, a new database that integrates information of different proteins in to a single resource. For basic curation of protein information, the database relies on features from other selected databases, servers and published reports. This database facilitates significant relationship between molecular analysis, cleavage sites, possible protein functional families assigned to different proteins of Chandipura virus (CHPV) by SVMProt and related tools. 相似文献

Dendrobium primulinum is an important epiphytic orchid. A successful protocol for mass multiplication and early in vitro flowering was developed. Immature embryos of 4 week after pollination exhibited about 96% germination within 30 days of culture on MS medium containing sucrose (3%) (w/v), NAA and BA (6 and 9 μM) in combination. Protocorm-like bodies (PLBs) formed from the germinating seeds on the germination medium. Rooted plantlets were formed within 2-3 wk on MS medium containing sucrose (3%), NAA and BA (3 and 12 μM in combination) where about 29 shoot/buds produced per cycle of 4 wk interval. The well rooted plantlets produced 4-5 floral buds per spike when they were maintained on MS medium containing sucrose (3%), fresh apple juice (10%) (v/v) for four wk followed by on MS medium freed of apple juice but enriched with NAA and BA (3 and 12 μM respectively). The hardened plantlets were transferred to community potting mix where the about 80% transplants survived after two months of transfer. 相似文献

2,4-Thiazolidinedione derivatives of 1,3-benzoxazinone were synthesized and evaluated for their PPAR-alpha and -gamma dual activation. DRF-2519, a compound obtained through SAR of TZD derivatives of benzoxazinone, has shown potent dual PPAR activation. In ob/ob mice, it showed better efficacy than the comparator molecules. In this study, we established a comprehensive genetic map with a large number of progeny from a three-generation hybrid Populus intercross, and phenotyped the lignin content, S/G ratio and 28 cell wall subcomponents both in stems and roots for the mapping individuals. Phenotypic analysis revealed that lignin content and syringyl-to-guaiacyl (S/G) ratio using pyrolysis molecular beam mass spectroscopy (pyMBMS) varied among mapping individuals. Phenotypic analysis revealed that stem lignin content is significantly higher than that in root and the quantified traits can be classified into four distinct groups, with strong correlations observed among components within organs. Altogether, 179 coordinating QTLs were detected, and they were co-localized into 49 genetic loci, 27 of which appear to be pleiotropic. Many of the detected genetic loci were detected differentially in stem and root. This is the first report of separate genetic loci controlling cell wall phenotypes above and below ground. These results suggest that it may be possible to modify lignin content and composition via breed and/or engineer as a means of simultaneously improving Populus for cellulosic ethanol production and carbon sequestration. 相似文献

The prevalence of obesity continues to increase significantly, with the largest rise in the African‐American adolescents. Genetic contributions to obesity are being identified with the advent of genome‐wide association studies (GWAS). Specifically, variants of the fat mass and obesity associated (FTO) gene have been associated with obesity in populations of European descent. The studies in African Americans have been inconclusive. To further evaluate the association of the FTO gene and adiposity in African Americans, we genotyped 47 single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), including seven SNPs previously reported to be significant in the literature in a cohort consisting of 561 non‐Hispanic white and 497 African‐American individuals. Analysis of our data showed 17 SNPs to be associated with BMI Z‐score (BMI‐Z) in our study population. The strongest association was found in the African Americans. The most significant SNP was rs8057044, which was associated with BMI‐Z in the African Americans (P = 0.00054). SNP rs9939609 was found to be significant in the non‐Hispanic white population (P = 0.028). Our data confirm the association between FTO and adiposity suggesting that FTO is a childhood obesity susceptibility gene. Our data also identify a novel SNP of the FTO gene (rs8057044) that is associated with measures of adiposity in the African‐American population. 相似文献
