Membrane proteins with a molecular weight of 290, 180, and 55 kDa were isolated using immunosorbent attached to sepharose and rabbit antibodies to cytoplasmic tetrodotoxin-sensitive protein from beef brain gray matter. A technique used for research into voltage-dependent sodium channels was applied to reconstruction of these proteins and investigation of toxin-dependent sodium flows through the lipoprotein membrane. Findings are interpreted as evidence of the similarity between cytoplasmic tetrodotoxin-sensitive protein and that of sodium channels at the cell membrane.A. A. Quantitative characteristics of the afferent flow in a cutaneous nerve during cooling of the skin in cats were determined by the cross-correlation method. Lowering the skin temperature by 10°C with different gradients of cooling led to the appearance of activity in A-, A-, and C-fibers. The first fibers to become excited were C-fibers, followed in turn by A-fibers, a group of slowly-conducting A-fibers, and a group of fast-conducting A-fibers. The latent period of excitation of the C-fibers remained unchanged whatever the rate of skin cooling, whereas in A-fibers it increased with slowing of the rate of fall of temperature. The level of maximal activity neither in A- nor in C-fibers depended on the gradient of skin cooling, but in all the groups of fibers mentioned the time taken to reach the maximum of activity decreased with an increase in the rate of cooling.Research Institute of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics, N. Population and family samples of two morphological forms (mutant and normal with respect to dorsal color) of pathogenetic lizard Darevskia armeniaca were examined by means of DNA fingerprinting using M13 mini- and (GATA)n and (TCC)n microsatellite DNA markers. The morphological forms examined were characterized by clonally inherited, species-specific patterns of the DNA markers, which were different from the species-specific DNA fingerprints of the other parthenogenetic species of the genus Darevskia (D. dahli. D. unisexualis, and D. rostombekovi). The mean index of similarity (S) obtained for a sample of 36 individuals from three isolated populations using three types of DNA markers was 0.966. This was similar to the variability level observed in D. dahli (0.962) (P > 0.05), but higher than that in D. unisexualis (0.950) (P < 0.05) and D. rostombekovi (0.875) (P < 0.01). Inheritance of M13 minisatellite and (TCC)n microsatellite DNA markers in the F1 offspring of parthenogenetic lizards was examined. It was shown that variability and clonal diversity of the fingerprint phenotypes observed in the populations and families of D. armeniaca could be at least partly explained by RFLP mutations in microsatellite repeats. 相似文献

Ca-ATPase activity in sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) membranes isolated from skeletal muscles of the typical hibernator, the ground squirrel Spermophilus undulatus, is about 2-fold lower than that in SR membranes of rats and rabbits and is further decreased 2-fold during hibernation. The use of carbocyanine anionic dye Stains-All has revealed that Ca-binding proteins of SR membranes, histidine-rich Ca-binding protein and sarcalumenin, in ground squirrel, rat, and rabbit SR have different electrophoretic mobility corresponding to apparent molecular masses 165, 155, and 170 kDa and 130, 145, and 160 kDa, respectively; the electrophoretic mobility of calsequestrin (63 kDa) is the same in all preparations. Experimental studies on the abundance dynamics and thermal tolerance of cladoceran Ceriodaphnia quadrangula (O.F. Müller, 1785) as they depend on the value and action pattern of a thermal factor, as well as field observations and
mathematical calculations were carried out. Based upon the results of these studies, the values of the temperature zone of
normal vital functions (17.0–25.0°C) and of the zones of temperature “static” optimum (21.4–25.0°C) were determined for C. quadrangula. It was shown using experimental populations of C. quadrangula as an example that it is necessary not only to keep the range of the factor optimal values within the tolerance scale (i.e.,
the static optimum) but also to maintain the optimal parameters of dynamic factor changes (or “dynamic optimum”) in order
