In the present study three species of Miogypsinoides are described from the Oligocene–Miocene Asmari Formation of the Zagros Basin in the southwest of Iran. This is the explanation of the morphological recognition and distribution of Miogypsinoides complanatus, Miogypsinoides formosensis (Upper Oligocene, Chattian) and Miogypsinoides dehaartii (Lower Miocene, Aquitanian). Nepionic acceleration is the most important factor for recognition of Miogypsinoides species. Also it is applied in stratigraphic correlation. Examination of samples indicates a decreasing number of nepionic chambers (Mx) as time passes so M. dehaartii with Mx < 10 belong to the Aquitanian age. The study of microfacies shows that these species lived in an open marine environment with normal salinity and medium hydraulic energy in a middle ramp position.  相似文献

The susceptibility of potato tuber moth, Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) to native and commercial strains of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) was studied under laboratory conditions. Native strains of EPNs were collected from northeastern Iran and characterised as Steinernema feltiae and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (FUM 7) using classic methods as well as analysis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and D2/D3 sequences of 28S genes. Plate assays were performed to evaluate the efficiency of five EPN strains belonging to four species including Steinernema carpocapsae (commercial strain), S. feltiae, Steinernem glaseri and H. bacteriophora (FUM 7 and commercial strains). This initial assessment with 0, 75, 150, 250, 375 and 500 IJs/ml concentrations showed that S. carpocapsae and H. bacteriophora caused the highest mortality in both larval and prepupal stages of P. operculella, PTM. Thereafter, these three strains (i.e. S. carpocapsae, H. bacteriophora FUM 7 and the commercial strains) were selected for complementary assays to determine the effects of soil type (loamy, loamy–sandy and sandy) on the virulence of EPNs against the second (L2) and fourth instar (L4) larvae as well as prepupa. A soil column assay was conducted using 500 and 2000 IJs in 2-ml distilled water. Mortality in the L2 larvae was not affected by the EPN strain or soil type, while there was a significant interactive effect of nematode strains and soil type on larval mortality. The results also showed that EPN strains have higher efficiency in lighter soils and caused higher mortality on early larvae than that in loamy soil. In L4 larvae, mortality of PTM was significantly influenced by nematode strain and applied concentrations of infective juveniles. The larval mortality induced by S. carpocapsae was higher than those caused either by a commercial or the FUM 7 strain of H. bacteriophora. Prepupa were the most susceptible stage.  相似文献

In order to offer the ability of smaller volumes and high throughput in Lab-On-a-Chip and micro Total Analysis Systems devices, more miniaturized components are needed. Due to a low Reynolds number on the microscale, the mixing process can be particularly troublesome. This problem is compounded by the fact that more miniaturization can be challenging in a microfluidic system. In such a case, electroosmotic (EO) force is an efficient force to perturb low Reynolds number fluid. In this paper, a novel Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS) based fabrication for microfluidic devices, and a more miniaturized micromixer are presented. The proposed technology process requires the covering of excited electrode patterns by a thin Silicon-Nitride (Si3N4) insulator layer. Fabrication parameters such as Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD) Si3N4 deposition effect, and height of the Phosphor Silicate Glass (PSG) sacrificial layer were investigated for the electroosmotically-driven mixer. Particle tracing for fluid flow was illustrated, the particles were stretched and folded for a long time, which was a proof of chaotic regime. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) revealed that the mixer with covered electrodes provides the high mixing efficiency of above 90% for a 96 μm long microchannel. Using a silicon nitride insulator layer reduces high electric field gradient at sharp corners and edges of the electrodes, leading to the elimination of unwanted electrolyte effects. Thus, the excitation and geometrical parameters were optimized for the micromixer.  相似文献

A new sensing area for a sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) was fabricated to detect trace amounts of mercury and lead ions. The gold surface used for SPR measurements were modified with polypyrrole-chitosan (PPy-CHI) conducting polymer composite. The polymer layer was deposited on the gold surface by electrodeposition. This optical sensor was used for monitoring toxic metal ions with and without sensitivity enhancement by chitosan in water samples. The higher amounts of resonance angle unit (ΔRU) were obtained for PPy-CHI film due to a specific binding of chitosan with Pb(2+) and Hg(2+) ions. The Pb(2+) ion bind to the polymer films most strongly, and the sensor was more sensitive to Pb(2+) compared to Hg(2+). The concentrations of ions in the parts per million range produced the changes in the SPR angle minimum in the region of 0.03 to 0.07. Data analysis was done by Matlab software using Fresnel formula for multilayer system.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a heuristic algorithm based on the simulated annealing, SAQ-Net, as a method for constructing phylogenetic networks from weighted quartets. Similar to QNet algorithm, SAQ-Net constructs a collection of circular weighted splits of the taxa set. This collection is represented by a split network. In order to show that SAQ-Net performs better than QNet, we apply these algorithm to both the simulated and actual data sets containing salmonella, Bees, Primates and Rubber data sets. Then we draw phylogenetic networks corresponding to outputs of these algorithms using SplitsTree4 and compare the results. We find that SAQ-Net produces a better circular ordering and phylogenetic networks than QNet in most cases. In this study, we explored whether polymorphisms in insulin receptor (INSR), adiponectin (ADIPOQ), parathyroid hormone (PTH), and vitamin D receptor (VDR) genes are associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). A total of 362 subjects, including 181 women with PCOS and 181 controls were enrolled in this case-control study. Two SNPs (rs2059806 and rs1799817) in the INSR gene, two SNPs (rs2241766 and rs1501299) in the ADIPOQ gene, one SNP (rs6256) in the PTH gene, and one SNP (rs757343) in the VDR gene were analyzed using PCR-RFLP method. We observed no significant difference in genotype and allele frequencies between the women with PCOS and controls for the rs2059806, rs1799817, rs1501299, rs6256, and rs757343 polymorphisms either before or after adjustment for confounding factors including age and BMI. However, the ADIPOQ rs2241766 “TT” genotype compared with “TG and GG” genotypes was associated with a 1.93-fold increased risk for PCOS (P = 0.006, OR = 1.93, 95% CI = 1.20–3.11), and the differences remained significant after adjustment for age and BMI (P = 0.039, OR = 1.72, 95% CI = 1.03–2.86). Furthermore, the ADIPOQ rs2241766 “T” allele was significantly overrepresented in women with PCOS than controls (P = 0.006; OR = 1.80, 95% CI = 1.18–2.70), and the difference remained significant after Bonferroni correction. Our findings suggest that the ADIPOQ rs2241766 “TT” genotype is a marker of increased PCOS susceptibility. This study also indicates for the first time that there are no significant association between INSR rs2059806, PTH rs6256, and VDR rs757343 gene polymorphisms and PCOS risk. However, these data remain to be confirmed in larger studies and in other populations.  相似文献

Given the conflicting results about the positive effects of magnesium and l-carnitine and as there is no report concerning concurrent supplementation of magnesium and l-carnitine on migraine prophylaxis, the effects of magnesium, l-carnitine, and concurrent magnesium?Cl-carnitine supplementation on migraine indicators were assessed. In this clinical trial, 133 migrainous patients were randomly assigned into three intervention groups: magnesium oxide (500?mg/day), l-carnitine (500?mg/day), and Mg?Cl-carnitine (500?mg/day magnesium and 500?mg/day?l-carnitine), and a control group. After 12?weeks of supplementation, the checklist of migraine indicators including migraine attacks/month, migraine days/month, and headache severity was completed, and serum concentrations of magnesium and l-carnitine were measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry and enzymatic UV test, respectively. The results showed a significant reduction in all migraine indicators in all studied groups (p?<?0.05). The ANOVA results showed a significant reduction in migraine frequency across various supplemented and control groups (p?=?0.008). By separating the effects of magnesium supplementation from other confounding factors such as routine treatments using the repeated measures and nested model, it was clarified that magnesium supplementation had a significant effect on all migraine indicators. Oral supplementation with magnesium oxide and l-carnitine and concurrent supplementation of Mg?Cl-carnitine besides routine treatments could be effective in migraine prophylaxis; however, larger trials are needed to confirm these preliminary findings.  相似文献

Transient receptor potential (TRP) cation channels, which are conserved across mammals, flies, fish, sea squirts, worms, and fungi, essentially contribute to cellular Ca2+ signaling. The activity of the unique TRP channel in yeast, TRP yeast channel 1 (TRPY1), relies on the vacuolar and cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration. However, the mechanism(s) of Ca2+-dependent regulation of TRPY1 and possible contribution(s) of Ca2+-binding proteins are yet not well understood. Our results demonstrate a Ca2+-dependent binding of yeast calmodulin (CaM) to TRPY1. TRPY1 activity was increased in the cmd1–6 yeast strain, carrying a non–Ca2+-binding CaM mutant, compared with the parent strain expressing wt CaM (Cmd1). Expression of Cmd1 in cmd1–6 yeast rescued the wt phenotype. In addition, in human embryonic kidney 293 cells, hypertonic shock-induced TRPY1-dependent Ca2+ influx and Ca2+ release were increased by the CaM antagonist ophiobolin A. We found that coexpression of mammalian CaM impeded the activity of TRPY1 by reinforcing effects of endogenous CaM. Finally, inhibition of TRPY1 by Ca2+–CaM required the cytoplasmic amino acid stretch E33–Y92. In summary, our results show that TRPY1 is under inhibitory control of Ca2+–CaM and that mammalian CaM can replace yeast CaM for this inhibition. These findings add TRPY1 to the innumerable cellular proteins, which include a variety of ion channels, that use CaM as a constitutive or dissociable Ca2+-sensing subunit, and contribute to a better understanding of the modulatory mechanisms of Ca2+–CaM.  相似文献
