The effect of various reagents on the formation and stability of heat-induced gels of sesame 13S globulins were investigated. Electrostatic interaction, the hydrophobic bond and the disulfide bond were important for forming the network structure of gels, and the hydrogen bond also had an influence on the formation of the gel. Hydrophobic bonds mainly contributed to the stability of the gel. Subunit analyses of the proteins solubilized from the gels showed the presence of a free acidic subunit (AS) and basic subunit (BS), a polymer of AS, a dimer of BS and the dimer of a fragment from AS or BS. From the results, sulfhydryl-disulfide exchange reactions during gelation are suggested. 相似文献

During differentiation after auxin withdrawal, the change in the ethylene production of Hiproly barley callus paralleled the change in 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) content. The levels of ACC and ethylene production decreased rapidly, and then increased in Hiproly barley callus.Aminooxyacetic acid (AOA) prevented the ACC and ethylene production of the callus. Moreover, aminoisobutyric acid (AIB) also inhibited the ethylene production, but did not prevent the ACC synthesis of the callus. On the other hand, methylglyoxal-bis(guanylhydrazone) (MGBG) greatly enhanced the ACC and ethylene production. Formation of adventitious roots in Hiproly barley callus was enhanced by the cultivation in the medium containing AIB or AOA. However, differentiation of the callus was strongly inhibited by MGBG.Thus, prevention of ethylene production may be significant for differentiation of Hiproly barley callus. 相似文献

The Mannich reaction of kojic acid in both acidic and basic media was studied. Mono-Mannich derivatives (substitution at position 6) were obtained; the reactivity in basic medium was found to be somewhat greater than in acidic medium. Reduction of the Mannich derivatives with zinc dust and acetic acid gave a 6-methyl kojic acid (6-methyl-5-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethyl-γ-pyrone).Mono-Mannich base of pyromeconic acid was also prepared in a manner similar to that of kojic acid. From this Mannich base, maltol (2-methyl-3-hydroxy-γ-pyrone) was obtained by the reduction with zinc dust and acetic acid. 相似文献

The accumulation of vitamin B6 by Pichia guilliermondii Wickerham NK–2 strain grown on hydrocarbon was investigated. Ammonium acetate was more effective than other nitrogen sources tested. Satisfactory utilization by the yeast strain was observed in n-alkanes of C10–C18, and n-pentadecane was the best for vitamin B6 production. Vitamin B6 was excreted in the cultural broth mainly in the form of pyridoxal, The maximal vitamin B6 production was approximately 25 mg per liter of the culture broth. 相似文献

The effects of solute and hydrochloric acid concentrations on optical rotation were studied using 20 naturally occuring amino acids.There appeared to be no common factor among the amino acids as far as the inclination of optical rotation was concerned. Lutz-Jirgenson’s rule could be applied to few amino acids in the cationic form. Therefore, in the determination of the optical rotation, the concentration of the solute, nature of solvent and temperature must be rigorously controlled. Fresh loquat leaves have been used as folk health herb in Asian countries for long time, although the evidence supporting their functions is still minimal. This study aimed to clarify the chemopreventive effect of loquat tea extract (LTE) by investigating the inhibition on proliferation, and underlying mechanisms in human promyelocytic leukemia cells (HL-60). LTE inhibited proliferation of HL-60 in a dose-dependent manner. Molecular data showed that the isolated fraction of LTE induced apoptosis of HL-60 as characterized by DNA fragmentation; activation of caspase-3, -8, and -9; and inactivation of poly(ADP)ribose polymerase. Moreover, LTE fraction increased the ratio of pro-apoptotic Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax)/anti-apoptotic myeloid cell leukemia 1 (Mcl-1) that caused mitochondrial membrane potential loss and cytochrome c released to cytosol. Thus, our data indicate that LTE might induce apoptosis in HL-60 cells through a mitochondrial dysfunction pathway. Metabolites of Taphrina wiesneri (Rath.) Mix. were examined. Brassicasterol, stearic acid, and p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid were isolated in crystalline form. p-Hydroxybenzoic acid and vanillic acid were identified by paper chromatography and UV measurement. Palmitic acid was identified by gas-chromatography. The fungus produced usually these compounds on any one of four kinds of medium used. p-Hydroxyphenylacetic acid promoted germination of rape seeds at the concentration of 20 ppm in water and showed inhibition at 250 ppm.Phenolic acids and their related compounds in Japanese flowering cherry leaves infected by Taphrina wiesneri were examined. In the acidic and neutral extracts of infected cherry leaves (I), eighteen compounds positive to diazotized sulfanilic acid and two fluorescent compounds were detected by paper chromatography. Of these compounds, coumarin, 3, 4-dihydrocoumarin, melilotic acid, o- and p-coumaric acids, p-hydroxybenzoic melilotic acid, ferulic acid and caffeic acid were identified. Melilotic acid and coumarin were obtained in crystalline form. The amount of melilotic acid in I was higher than that in healthy leaves independent of sample source, although increased with the growth of cherry leaves. 相似文献
