These compounds were obtained through a bivalent ligand approach in which two triazine moieties are covalently connected by suitable linkers. Volume elasticity of the arterial system and its component parts is developed starting from a Windkessel*-model, which is defined in 4 points. Emphasis is laid on the simplicity of the derived equations and accessibility to experimental verification. The theory is an extension of earlier work achieved by Wetterer and Pieper (1953), who introduced an essentially physical method for the indirect determination of volume elasticity in situ, by creating forced sinusoidal oscillations in the arterial system, using a special pump operated at a considerably lower frequency than the mean heart frequency. With the use of the binmap method, 154 G-protein-coupled peptide receptors are classified. The binmap coordinates are obtained by using the number of residues between the conserved N residue in TM1 and C in the TM4-TM5 loop, between this C and the conserved P in TM6, and between this P and the last residue of the sequence. X-ray microanalysis has been used to determine elemental content in the nucleus, myofibrillar cytoplasm and mitochondrially enriched cytoplasm of cardiocytes in Snell dwarf mice in comparison with phenotypically normal mice from the same strain. It was found that there was significantly lower chlorine concentration in all three subcellular locations and significantly lower sodium concentration in the nucleus of dwarf mouse cardiocytes. The aim of the present study has been to examine the effects of various concentrations of somatostatin (SS), epidermal growth factor (EGF), as well as of interactions among SS, EGF and thyrotropin (TSH) in their influence upon the mitotic activity of thyroid follicular cells (TFC) in organ culture. The stathmokinetic method was employed. It was shown that: (1) SS, at the concentration of 10(-7) M, suppressed the mitogenic effect of TSH, as well as of TSH and EGF employed together, on TFC; (2) EGF, at the concentration of 10 and 100 ng/ml, increased the mean mitotic activity rate of TFC; (3) TSH and EGF revealed an additive action on TFC proliferation. The obtained results evidently suggest an antiproliferative effect of SS and mitogenic action of EGF on TFC in organ culture. 相似文献
