To determine which ecophysiological factors appear to control monoterpene concentrations in balsam fir foliage [Abies balsamea (L.) P. Mill.], the percentage of photosynthetically active radiation (%PAR), specific leaf area (SLA), light-saturated photosynthesis (A max), and concentrations per unit leaf area of foliar nitrogen (N), total soluble sugars (TSS), starch and monoterpenes were measured on current-year needles from three canopy levels (upper, middle and lower) the year following a pre-commercial thinning. The thinning only modestly changed the light profile within the canopy. %PAR was negatively correlated with SLA (r 2=0.62 in June, r 2=0.53 in July and August) and positively correlated with foliar nitrogen concentrations (r 2=0.51) within the crown profile. The positive relationship between N and A max was quite weak (r 2=0.15), suggesting significant variations in non-photosynthetic N within the canopies. Total monoterpenes were positively correlated with both %PAR (r 2=0.29) and A max (r 2=0.27), and negatively correlated with SLA (r 2=0.30). Contrary to that predicted by the carbon-nutrient balance hypothesis, total monoterpenes were negatively and only very weakly correlated with the starch/N ratio (r 2=0.06) and were not significantly correlated with either the TSS/N or the [TSS+starch]/N ratios. Monoterpenes were positively correlated with both N and TSS, although the relationship varied with the phenological state of the foliage, i.e., monoterpenes were more highly correlated with TSS (r 2=0.67) (immature foliage) in June, and in July and August with N (r 2=0.63) (mature foliage). Thus, it appears that monoterpene concentrations may be controlled primarily by carbohydrate supply in the early growing season and later by enzymatic capacity. 在扫描电镜下观察了豆科黄华属Thermopsis 18种植物种子的表面纹饰,发现 T.alpina,T.bar- bata,T.inflata,T.lupinoides,T. licentiana,T.smithiana和T.turkestanica的种子表面为粗网状,T californica,T.divaricarpa,T. macrophylla,T.mollis的种子表面为细网状,T.gracilis,T.montana,T. fabacea的种子表面为相对平滑型纹饰,T.alterniflora的种子表面为不规则条形,T.chinensis的种子表 面为粘膜状,T.rhombifolia的种子表面为条形及 T.viuosa的种子表面为碎屑状纹饰。结果表明黄华属的种子表面特征对属下类群的划分有一定意义,对澄清某些混乱的种有一定价值。  相似文献

研究森林可燃物燃烧释放的细颗粒物(PM2.5)的排放因子对于揭示森林火灾对大气和生态系统的影响至关重要,而水溶性离子是细颗粒物的重要化学成分,对颗粒物的形成具有重要意义。利用自主设计的生物质燃烧系统,模拟内蒙古大兴安岭5种典型乔木(蒙古栎、白桦、兴安落叶松、黑桦、山杨)的3种组成部分(树干、树枝、树皮)及其地表死可燃物(凋落物层、半腐殖质层、腐殖质层)以及3种典型灌木(平榛、二色胡枝子、兴安杜鹃)树枝燃烧,采用ISC1100离子色谱分析仪测定2种燃烧状态(阴燃和明燃)下PM2.5中水溶性离子(Na+、NH4+、K+、Mg2+、Ca2+、F-、Cl-、NO3-、NO2-、SO42-)的排放因子。结果表明:乔木所有组成部分及其地表死可燃物和灌木树枝燃烧所排放PM2.5中检测到的水溶性离子,阴燃以K+、Cl-和Na+为主要组分,明燃以K+、Cl-和SO42-为主要组分。不同燃烧状态下相同乔木树种及其地表死可燃物和相同灌木排放PM2.5中检测到的水溶性离子总量均存在显著差异。灌木树枝在阴燃期间PM2.5中水溶性无机离子的排放因子比明燃更高。乔木释放的PM2.5中阳离子与阴离子的比率为1.26,地表死可燃物为1.12,灌木为2.0,表明颗粒物呈碱性。内蒙古大兴安岭的森林大火不会通过释放水溶性离子导致生态系统的酸化。  相似文献

目的对长爪沙鼠线粒体ATPase8,ATPase6,COX3基因全序列进行测定,并对其进行鉴定及进化分析。方法根据长爪沙鼠已知基因序列设计引物,采用PCR产物测序法,对目的片段进行测序鉴定。结合已公布啮齿类动物ATPase8,ATPase6,COX3基因序列,分析其碱基组成、遗传距离、并基于最小进化法和UPGMA法构建系统进化树。结果获得长爪沙鼠线粒体ATPase8,ATPase6,COX3基因全序列,其与家鼠、小家鼠和仓鼠均具有较高的同源性(76~98%);进化分析结果显示,长爪沙鼠与家鼠、黑家鼠和仓鼠遗传距离较近;碱基G的含量分别为6.9%,10.7%,15.2%,符合mtDNA的特点;A+T含量分别为68.2%,64.1%,59.2%,明显低于G+C含量,符合哺乳动物的特点。结论本研究为首次获得长爪沙鼠ATPase8,ATPase6,COX3基因全序列,长爪沙鼠与家鼠、黑家鼠和仓鼠具有较近遗传距离,本研究为长爪沙鼠进化研究、线粒体的结构和功能研究奠定基础。  相似文献

Background

Using comparative glycoproteomics, we have previously identified a glycoprotein that is altered in both amount and glycosylation as a function of liver cirrhosis. The altered glycoprotein is an agalactosylated (G0) immunoglobulin G molecule (IgG) that recognizes the heterophilic alpha-gal epitope. Since the alpha gal epitope is found on gut enterobacteria, it has been hypothesized that anti-gal antibodies are generated as a result of increased bacterial exposure in patients with liver disease.

Methods

The N-linked glycosylation of anti-gal IgG molecules from patients with fibrosis and cirrhosis was determined and the effector function of anti-bacterial antibodies from over 100 patients examined. In addition, markers of microbial exposure were determined.

Results

Surprisingly, the subset of agalactosylated anti-gal antibodies described here, was impaired in their ability to mediate complement mediated lysis and inhibited the complement-mediated destruction of common gut bacteria. In an analysis of serum from more than 100 patients with liver disease, we have shown that those with increased levels of this modified anti-gal antibody had increased levels of markers of bacterial exposure.

Conclusions

Anti-gal antibodies in patients with liver cirrhosis were reduced in their ability to mediate complement mediated lysis of target cells. As bacterial infection is a major complication in patients with cirrhosis and bacterial products such as LPS are thought to play a major role in the development and progression of liver fibrosis, this finding has many clinical implications in the etiology, prognosis and treatment of liver disease.  相似文献

Interaction between hyaluronic acid (HA) present at the surface of tubular epithelial cells and calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM) crystals is thought to play an important role in kidney stone formation. AFM-based force spectroscopy, where HA is covalently attached to AFM-probes, was used to quantify the interaction between HA and the surfaces of COM crystals. The work of adhesion of the HA-probe as well as the rupture force of single HA molecules were quantified in order to understand the molecular regulation of HA binding to COM crystals. Our results reveal that HA adsorbs to the crystal surface in physiological conditions. We also observed increased adhesion when the pH is lowered to a value that increases the risk of kidney stone formation. HA adhesion to the COM crystal surface can be suppressed by citrate, a physiological inhibitor of stone retention currently used in the treatment and prevention of kidney stone formation. Interestingly, we also observed preferential binding of HA onto the [100] face versus the [010] face, suggesting a major contribution of the [100] faces in the crystal retention process at the surface of tubular epithelial cells and the promotion of stone formation. Our results clearly establish a direct role for the glycosaminoglycan HA present at the surface of kidney tubular epithelium in the process of COM crystal retention.  相似文献

2004—2005年,在内蒙古锡林郭勒盟阿巴嘎旗和东乌珠穆沁旗研究了肝毛细线虫病对黑线毛足鼠种群感染情况,分析肝毛细线虫对黑线毛足鼠的感染率与鼠体年龄以及种群密度的关系。结果表明,黑线毛足鼠达到一定的年龄(或体质量)才可感染肝毛细线虫病,最低感染个体体质量为14.6g。肝毛细线虫对低龄鼠的感染检出率比较低,而对成体鼠感染检出率较高,其感染率和感染度均随着个体年龄的增长而增高(感染率与年龄:r=0.97,P<0.05;感染度与年龄:r=0.93,P<0.05)。此外,黑线毛足鼠体质量与肝毛细线虫感染率和感染度也存在显著的相关关系(感染率与体质量:r=0.99,P<0.05;感染度与体质量:r=0.95,P<0.05),黑线毛足鼠的种群密度则对肝毛细线虫的感染率(r=0.27,P>0.05)和平均感染度(r=0.41,P>0.05)没有明显的影响,其感染率可能与地区不同有关。  相似文献

Several bacterial and immunogenic factors are involved in the host response to probiotic strains of Lactobacillus. Here, we report the isolation of new intestinal lactobacilli from chicken, with different immunomodulating properties on lymphoid cells from SJL and C57BL/6 mice. Analysis of biochemical markers in the Lactobacillus acidophilus CBA4P, CBA3P, and TPA3P isolates reveal that these bacterial isolates belong to the type 2 prototype, although they differ from each other. The effect of conditioned media (CM) from SJL- and C57BL/6-derived peritoneal macrophages incubated with the 3 sonicated bacterial isolates from chicken, as well as with Lactobacillus rhamnosus 9595, Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide, or Staphylococcus aureus peptidoglycan were compared. Our results show that the CM of macrophages from C57BL/6 and SJL mice treated with the CBA4P isolate stimulated syngeneic splenic lymphocytes at a level similar to the one induced with CM from peptidoglycan-stimulated macrophages. In contrast, the CM from TPA3P- and CBA3P-treated macrophages promoted low or no stimulation of lymphoid cells. Incubation of splenic cells with CM from macrophages treated with L. rhamnosus or TPA3P led to a relative decrease in the percentages of splenic CD4+ T cells, whereas the relative percentages of B cells increased. The CBA4P and CBA3P isolates induced higher levels of gamma interferon when compared with the TPA3P isolate. The effects of the lactobacilli isolates differed according to the mouse strain used but correlated with the production of macrophagic tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukins 6, 10, and 12 and with the modulation of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK). Taken together, these results indicate that the immunomodulating properties of the new L. acidophilus isolates depend on their capacity to induce production of interleukins 10 and 12 by macrophages, which is under genetic control and depends on the p38 MAPK pathway.  相似文献
