The paper presents previously undescribed abnormalities of phragmoplast formation in pollen mother cells of grass haploids and allohaploids (wide hybrids of the first generation). These abnormal phenotypes reveal and illustrate occasional unknown stages of phragmoplast formation in dividing plant cells and indicate the special regulation of their initiation, as well as confirm data on this process obtained by other approaches.  相似文献

By means of morphological analyses of meiotic abnormalities in pollen mother cells (PMCs) of cereal wide hybrids, haploids and meiotic mutants, the processes involved in cytoskeleton cycle at late prometaphase (a sub-stage of transition from chaotic figure to bipolar spindle) were studied. A significance of the four processes of late prometaphase--axial orientation, lateral association, consolidation and convergance of spindle fibers--is discussed.  相似文献

Ring the last decades, numerous genes for general cognitive ability were identified on human X-chromosome. They were discovered primarily because of X-linked mutations causing nonspecific mental retardation in males. Evidence for imprinted loci on the X chromosome affecting neurodevelopment was found in studies on 45,X females. Investigation of transmission of X-linked traits in normal individuals might further contribute to problem of shaping human being's mind ability. We suggest monozygous female twins discordant for a parent-of-origin of the X chromosome inactivation to be a proper subject for such explorations.  相似文献

The inability of phragmoplast to stop its centrifugal movement after reaching the mother cell membrane is described in abnormal meiosis with the arrest of cell plate formation. The excess of phragmoplast expansion leads to rotation of the whole telophase figure (phragmoplast with daughter nuclei) within the cell through 90 degrees. It has been suggested that this phenomenon may occur because of a the lack of signal stopping cytokinesis. Such a signal arises due to formation of daughter cell membranes.  相似文献

Mammalian cytochrome P450scc (CYP11A1p) is a pseudointegral protein of the inner membrane of mitochondria with the active center exposed in the matrix. Upon import of the CYP11A1p precursor into yeast mitochondria, only a minor part was incorporated into the inner mitochondrial membrane and acquired catalytic activity (Kovaleva, I. E., Novikova, L. A., Nazarov, P. A., Grivennikov, S. I., and Luzikov, V. N. (2003) Eur. J. Biochem., 270, 222-229). The present work is an attempt to increase the efficiency of this process by substitution of the inherent N-terminal presequence of CYP11A1p by the addressing signal of D-lactate dehydrogenase (D-LD) of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. D-LD is known to be inserted into the inner membrane of mitochondria through its transmembrane domain located close to the N-terminus of the polypeptide chain in such a way that the protein globule is exposed in the intermembrane space. The hybrid protein D-LD(1-72)-mCYP11A1p synthesized in yeast cells was imported into yeast mitochondria, underwent processing, and was inserted into the inner membrane on the side of the intermembrane space. In the presence of adrenodoxin and adrenodoxin reductase, the hybrid protein exhibited cholesterol side-chain cleavage activity. Thus, CYP11A1p insertion into the inner membrane of mitochondria mediated by the D-LD topogenic signal resulted in the catalytically active mCYP11A1p domain in the hybrid protein.  相似文献

The dynamics of electroencephalographic (EEG) parameters in adults were studied during active relaxation (which involved simple psychological techniques) and passive relaxation (without using any techniques). The experiment included four stages: background 1, active relaxation, passive relaxation, and background 2. During the experiment, the EEG was recorded in the occipital, parietal-temporal-occipital, central, and frontal regions of both hemispheres of the brain. Comparative analysis of the dynamics of EEG parameters during changing experimental conditions was performed in the frequency range from 5 to 40 Hz divided into ten frequency subranges. It was possible to establish the general pattern in the dynamics of EEG parameters at different relaxation stages, as well as differences in system-level brain performance in the active and passive relaxation states.  相似文献

In this work, the ultrastructural features and taxonomic position of the green microalga infesting the horse mussel Modiolus modiolus from the north-western Pacific (Vityaz Bay, Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Japan) are reported. Mussels were collected monthly from May to September of 2009. In different months, the prevalence of mussels with green tissues was 16.6-62.5% (mean 43%). The most affected organs were the mantle, digestive gland and gonad. Histological analysis revealed severe infiltration of the connective tissue by hemocytes containing the alga cells. Electron microscopy showed that the alga was morphologically similar to the green algae from the genus Coccomyxa (Chlorophyta: Chlorococcales). Two new primers were designed to generate partial small subunit (SSU) rRNA sequences of the green alga from M. modiolus. Phylogenetic analysis based on the comparison of the SSU rRNA sequences of the trebouxiophyceans confirmed an affiliation of the green alga with the genus Coccomyxa. The sequence (1296 bases) of the green alga from M. modiolus was most closely related to the sequence CPCC 508 (AM981206) (identity 100%), obtained from an acid-tolerant, free-living chlorophyte microalga Coccomyxa sp. and to the sequences EU127470 (identity 99.3%) and EU127471 (identity 99.7%) of the green alga, presumably the true Coccomyxa parasitica, infecting the blue mussel Mytilus edulis from the Flensburg Fjord (North Atlantic).  相似文献

The interaction between tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (EC 6.1.1.2) from beef pancreas and the ATP analogs containing alkylating or phosphorylating groups in the polyphosphate moiety of ATP was studied as an approach to investigate the structure of the enzyme active center. Some of the compounds under study were shown to irreversibly inhibit the enzyme activity; the presence of ATP in the most cases protects the enzyme against inactivation. The kinetic constants Ki and k2 of interaction of the irreversible inhibitors with the enzyme were determined. It was found that the Ki values for a number of irreversible competitive inhibitors are by 1-2 orders of magnitude less than the Km value for ATP; the k2 values were found equal to 0.02-0.04 min-1. this suggests that the compounds may be used as affinity reagents, the most efficient ones being adenosine 5'-(beta-chloroethyl phosphate) and mixed AMP-mesithylene carbonic acid anhydride. The absence of a protective effect of ATP in the case of adenosine 5'-(beta-bromoethane phosphonate) and non-competitive type of reversible inhibition inhibition of the enzyme by adenosine 5'-chloromethane phosphonate indicate that the molecule of tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase contains sites interacting with adenine nucleotides, other than the ATP binding sites of the active center.  相似文献
