Role of B-lymphocytes in inactivating allogenic stem cells]

Antisera to membrane antigens of B lumphocytes eliminated the capacity of lymphocytes to inactivate allogenous stem cells by 60%; however, lymphocytes from the lymph nodes of B mice possessed no inactivating capacity. T-lymphocytes were the main criteria inactivating allogenous stem cells. Cooperating with T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes probably contributed to inactivation of precursor cells realized by T-lymphocytes. However, the presence of B-lymphocytes in the killer cells population was not a determinant, since T-lymphocytes were capable of inactivating allogenous stem cells without any participation of B-lymphocytes.     

Isolation of Tyr- mutants of facultative methylotrophic Pseudomonas sp. M

A method for isolation of Tyr- mutants of facultative methylotrophic bacteria Pseudomonas sp. M which possess two tyrosine synthesis pathways is presented. The method is based on the two-step blocking of the tyrosine synthesis: the first step of the supplementary pathway of synthesis from phenylalanine, the second being the main pathway from 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate.     

HDL2c--a new subclass of high density lipoproteins in the plasma of newborns]

A new subclass of high density lipoproteins designated as HLD2c was found in the human blood plasma of newborn by analytic ultracentrifugation in the flotation rate interval Fo1,20 8.0--12.0. HDL2c was isolated from the total HDL fraction of newborn by preparative ultracentrifugation at the density 1.071.     

Ultrastructural demonstration of NAD-pyrophosphorylase activity in mouse liver nuclei.

Ultrastructural demonstration of NAD-pyrophosphorylase activity (E.C.2.7.7.1) in isolated mouse liver nuclei was investigated with the use of an electronhistochemical procedure based on the precipitation of pyrophosphate ions with lead ions under conditions permitting simultaneous ATPase inhibition by formaldehyde/ethanol prefixation. In isolated mouse liver nuclei activity of NAD-pyrophosphorylase was found in nucleoli, in interchromatin granules, coiled bodies and strand-like structures in nucleoplasm.     

Nerve elements of the heart of the rat after right-sided vagotomy

A quantitative electron microscopical investigation of the sinus node of the atrioventricular His' bundle and of the perinodal working myocardium in intact rats and 7, 15 and 30 days after right-sided vagotomy has revealed variable character of changes in the neural elements of the zones mentioned. Certain ultrastructural rearrangements in the neural apparatus are described; they reflect a combination of destructive and regenerative processes in the heart under vagotomy. Thirty days after the operation, regeneration of the neural elements in the sinoauricular area is of restorative and in the atrioventricular area--of excess character. The data are presented on dynamics of changes in the diameter of the amyelinated neural fibers in the cardiac areas investigated. Participation of both nervi vagi in innervation of the main and additional pacemakers of the organ is discussed.
