Members of the family Vibrionaceae are generally found in marine and brackish environments, playing important roles in nutrient cycling. The Rumoiensis clade is an unconventional group in the genus Vibrio, currently comprising six species from different origins including two species isolated from non-marine environments. In this study, we performed comparative genome analysis of all six species in the clade using their complete genome sequences. We found that two non-marine species, Vibrio casei and Vibrio gangliei, lacked the genes responsible for algal polysaccharide degradation, while a number of glycoside hydrolase genes were enriched in these two species. Expansion of insertion sequences was observed in V. casei and Vibrio rumoiensis, which suggests ongoing genomic changes associated with niche adaptations. The genes responsible for the metabolism of glucosylglycerate, a compound known to play a role as compatible solutes under nitrogen limitation, were conserved across the clade. These characteristics, along with genes encoding species-specific functions, may reflect the habit expansion which has led to the current distribution of Rumoiensis clade species. Genome analysis of all species in a single clade give us valuable insights into the genomic background of the Rumoiensis clade species and emphasize the genomic diversity and versatility of Vibrionaceae.  相似文献

In Japan there are a number of children and adolescents with emotion-related disorders including psychosomatic diseases (orthostatic dysregulation, anorexia nervosa, recurrent pains), behavior problems and school absenteeism. According to our previous report, the Japanese children had significantly higher score of physical symptoms and psychiatric complaints than did the Swedish children, and these were more strongly influenced by school-related stress than by home-related stress. To enforce countermeasures for psychosomatic problems in children, the Japanese Society of Psychosomatic Pediatrics (established in 1982) have started several new projects including multi-center psychosomatic researches and society-based activities. In this article, we present an outline of our study on mental health in Japanese children in comparison with Swedish children. Countermeasures including clinical guidelines for child psychosomatic diseases are reviewed and discussed.  相似文献

Seed germination test ofGaleola altissima was carried out with five aphyllophorales fungi:Erythromyces crocicreas, Ganoderma australe, Loweporus tephroporus, Microporus affinus andPhellinus sp.. All five species were effective for seed germination of the orchid.Erythromyces crocicreas, which has hitherto been regarded as the only endomycorrhizal fungus of the orchid, was confirmed to be effective for further development of the orchid.  相似文献

Hydroxyproline-rich glycoprotein was isolated from the used media of tobacco XD-6 cells cultured in suspension and purified by repeated ion exchange- and gel filtration-chromatography. The preparation was judged to be homogeneous from ultracentrifugation and isoelectric focusing. The dry wt of the glycoprotein was composed of 94% polysaccharide and 6% protein. Hydroxyproline accounted for 23% of the amino acids in the protein moiety. The polysaccharide moiety consisted of 44% galactose, 30% arabinose, 5% rhamnose, and 21% uronic acid. About 10% of the uronic acid residues were present as methyl esters.  相似文献

Membrane-bound hydroxyproline-containing glycoprotein from culturedtobacco cells was solubilized with chloroform. The biological function ofLentinula edodes in a myco-heterotrophic orchid,Erythrorchis ochobiensis was examined, using one local variant each from Japan (JPN), Papua New Guinea (PNG) and New Zealand (NZ). All variants induced seed germination: PNG and NZ isolates were effective at 25°C and JPN isolate showed the highest germination rate at 30°C. Germinated seeds developed into plants and formed normal endomycorrhizas. Hence, it is concluded thatL. edodes has a perfect symbiotic potential withE. ochobiensis, though it has not been observed in the root of the orchid in the field.  相似文献
