The subcellular distribution of 5'-nucleotidase and adenosine deaminase in rat brain hypothalamus and hippocampus was studied. In the hippocampus the 5'-nucleotidase activity was shown to be much higher than in the hypothalamus, while the adenosine deaminase activity, contrariwise, is nearly two times as high as that in the hypothalamus. During the analysis of subcellular distribution 5'-nucleotidase and adenosine deaminase were detected in all fractions under study, i. e., in nuclear, soluble, myelin fractions as well as in synaptic membranes, synaptosomes and "pure" mitochondria. The highest 5'-nucleotidase activity was found in the myelinic and synaptic fractions both in the hypothalamus and in the hippocampus. The highest adenosine deaminase activity was detected in the soluble fraction of the above structures. The enzyme activity in synaptic membranes and synaptosomes was nearly two times as low. 相似文献

The effects of injecting cells with adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) on calcium current were investigated during intracellular dialysis ofHelix
pomatia neurons. Microiontophoretically injected AMP was found to lead to reinstatement of calcium current following dialysis-induced wash-out, as well as considerable stabilization of this current with the extracellular medium at normal pH. Current-voltage relationship of the current would then undergo a 10 mV shift towards depolarization values. Perfusing the cell with a solution containing 10 mM AMP then produced a qualitatively identical effect. Injecting the neuron iontophoretically with cAMP led to a decline in the amplitude of calcium current under the same conditions. Neither raising the pH of the intracellular solution to 8.1 nor adding 4-aminopyridine in order to depress the hydrogen ion current produced a qualitative alteration in the effects of injecting AMP and cAMP on calcium current.A. It has been shown that single or multiple hydrocortisone and ACTH administrations to intact rats increased GABA content and its synthesis from glutamate and putrescine in synaptosomes of hypothalamus. The letter content was increased by single hormonal administration while multiple hormonal administration and adrenalectomy decreased it. Ornithine decarboxylase activity was increased by single hydrocortisone administration to intact animals, following adrenalectomy, and it was decreased by single hormonal administration to adrenalectomized rats. GABA synthesis in synaptosomes of hippocampus from putrescine was increased by single hydrocortisone and multiple hormonal administrations. GABA content was increased by multiple administration of both hormones and was decreased by adrenalectomy. Using the method of the anterograde dextran tetramethylrhodamin transport, there is obtained the topographic picture of branching of inferior cervical nerve axons on fibers of the dorsal longitudinal muscle in Lymnaea stagnalis (L.). Using the retrograde staining, the neuronal bodies sending their processes into this nerve are marked. Manifestations of asymmetry in distribution of neurons stained through the right and left nerves are described. The electron microscopic studies have shown that the main number of the inferior cervical nerve axons is represented by thin fibers presumably belonging to the sensory cells. A part of the nerve fibers and their endings show imunoreactivity to serotonin and acetylcholine. The serotoninergic fibers predominate quantitatively over the cholinergic ones and account for a half of the fibers stained with dextran. Background
The electroencephalography (EEG) is an attractive and a simple technique to measure the brain activity. It is attractive due its excellent temporal resolution and simple due to its non-invasiveness and sensor design. However, the spatial resolution of EEG is reduced due to the low conducting skull. In this paper, we compute the potential distribution over the closed surface covering the brain (cortex) from the EEG scalp potential. We compare two methods – L-curve and generalised cross validation (GCV) used to obtain the regularisation parameter and also investigate the feasibility in applying such techniques to N170 component of the visually evoked potential (VEP) data.Methods
Using the image data set of the visible human man (VHM), a finite difference method (FDM) model of the head was constructed. The EEG dataset (256-channel) used was the N170 component of the VEP. A forward transfer matrix relating the cortical potential to the scalp potential was obtained. Using Tikhonov regularisation, the potential distribution over the cortex was obtained.Results
The cortical potential distribution for three subjects was solved using both L-curve and GCV method. A total of 18 cortical potential distributions were obtained (3 subjects with three stimuli each – fearful face, neutral face, control objects).Conclusions
The GCV method is a more robust method compared to L-curve to find the optimal regularisation parameter. Cortical potential imaging is a reliable method to obtain the potential distribution over cortex for VEP data.88.
The composition of low-molecular biologically active metabolites typical of microscopic fungi has been studied in blastemas of fruticose lichens of the genera Cladonia, Cetraria, Evernia, Bryoria, and Usnes. The enzyme immunoassay method showed the presence of sterigmatocystin, emodin, mycophenolic acid, citrinin, alternariol, and diacetoxyscirpenol, which occurred regularly and, in most cases, at a frequency of 55 to 100%. The highest levels of accumulation were 0.001-0.003% for emodin, 0.0002% for alternariol and citrinin, 0.0001% for sterigmatocystin and mycophenolic acid, and 0.00005% of the weight of air-dry material for diacetoxyscirpenol. Other metabolites (cyclopiazonic acid, ergot alkaloids, ochratoxin A, PR toxin, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, and fumonisins) were detected in these lichens less frequently (sometimes only upon the expansion of the territory of sampling), and their content was no more than 0.00005%. The peculiarities of the component composition and the levels of accumulation of fungal metabolites in lichens of different taxonomic affiliation were discussed. 相似文献
