Detection of lipase in Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1 in reaction of volumetric agglomeration

Study showed that El-Tor strains of V. cholerae isolated from different sources produce lipase for hemolysis after cultivation during 24 h on meat-peptone broth independently from their toxigenic and hemolytic abilities. Study of 3- and 4-hours broth cultures of vibrios revealed possibility to differentiate between hemolytic nontoxigenic strains and toxigenic nonhemolytic ones. Using antilipaze diagnostic kit it was possible to differentiate El-Tor vibrios from vibrios of classic biovar basing on lipase production 24 h after cultivation on meat-peptone broth that was evident in El-Tor vibrios but not in classic biovar strains.

The dual nature of lymphocyte interaction with allogenic stem cells

The interaction of lymphocytes from mouse lymph nodes with allogeneic stem cells was studied using exogenous colony formation inhibition test. Dual nature of the interaction was revealed: great amounts of lymphocytes inhibited, while small amounts stimulated colony formation. This dependence holds true for macro- and microcolonies as well as for erythrocyte and granuloid microcolonies in the bone marrow during fixation on day 8 and 11 after cell mixture transplantation.     

Oligonucleotide analogs with peptide internucleotide linkages

Oligonucleotide analogs containing one or a few glycine, L-, and D-alanine or L-and D-phenylalanine residues instead of phosphodiesterinternucleotide linkages were synthesized. The stability of the duplexes formed by modified oligonucleotides and their wildtype complements was studied. Oligonucleotides with D-alanine residues in internucleotide linkages form duplexes more stable than native ones (ΔT(m) +0.2 °C per modification), whereas other modifications destabilize the duplexes.     

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor gene (BDNF) polymorphism among Moscow citizens

Recent studies showed that brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) can participate in pathogenesis of various CNS disorders, being connected with proliferation, differentiation, and survival of neurons. In present study, analysis of occurrence rate was performed for three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in BDNF gene (rs6267 (A/G) allele A—0.265; rs2049046 (A/T) allele A—0.407; rs11030107 (A/G) allele A—0.872) in randomized selection of Moscow citizens. Linkage disequilibrium of rs6165 and rs2049046 loci was shown. Differences in allele frequencies in studied selection and populations of other regions were discovered.
