Initial verification of the resistance management strategy for Frankliniella
occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) in Australia 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1
Shortly after the initial detection of western flower thrips (WFT), Frankiniella occidentalis (Pergande), in Australia during 1993 a resistance management strategy based on the alternation of chemical groups was implemented. This study aimed to verify this strategy by field testing α-cypermethrin against WFT with and without chemical alternation. Up to 114 times α-cypermethrin resistance (at LC50) was detected and resistance increased with and without chemical alternation; however, chemical alternation did significantly reduce numbers of thrips compared with a nonalternation strategy. Resistance has the potential to undermine the sustainable use of those chemicals to which there is no current detectable resistance. Consequently, chemicals with a high frequency and level of resistance against WFT need to be identified through monitoring and quickly eliminated from WFT chemical control recommendations. 相似文献

干扰素作用于靶细胞膜表面的受体后,通过信号转导系统诱导一系列抗病毒蛋白产生,干扰病毒复制以达到抗病毒目的。2’-5’寡聚腺苷酸合成酶(2’.5’oligoadenylatesynthetase,OAS)是干扰素作用于细胞后产生的一种重要的抗病毒蛋白,几十年来,国内外学者对OAS家族及其抗病毒机制进行了大量研究并取得了一定的进展,OAS被dsRNA激活后,催化生成2-5A,2-5A激活核酸内切酶RNaseL,降解病毒RNA,阻断病毒蛋白合成,从而发挥抗病毒作用。体内外研究表明,OAS的表达量或活性的变化可用于评价机体对干扰素的反应,反映干扰素抗病毒效果,另外,它还可作为系统性红斑狼疮的病情活动度的一种检测指标。因此,OAS具有重要的临床应用价值。本文就OAS家族及其抗病毒机制,其测定方法与对于病毒性肝炎和系统性红斑狼疮疾病的临床意义展开综述,以期对OAS的研究和应用提供参考。OAS是典型的干扰素诱导产物,可反映机体内干扰素的抗病毒水平,具有广阔的应用前景。 相似文献

对广西环江木论的焕镛木[Woonyoungia septentrionalis(Dandy)Law]自然居群花朵着生方式和性别比例作了随机抽样调查,首次发现其花的着生方式除多数为顶生花外,还有少量的腋生花,自然居群中雄株与雌株的性别比例为1.21:1,对中国科学院华南植物园栽培居群和广西环江木论自然居群20株600朵花进行的解剖统计揭示,雌、雄花各部分的数量是变化的,雄花的花被片一轮或两轮,2-6片,雄蕊81-152枚,雌花的花被片两轮,外轮2-4片,内轮4-13片,心皮3-8枚,只有雄花花药2室及雌花每心皮具2个胚珠是稳定的。花部表型性状的大幅度变异表明焕镛木具有较丰富的遗传多样性。讨论了生花与顶生花在木兰科系统发育中的意义、表型性状的异步进化现象以及建立焕镛木属Woonyoungia Law的依据。 相似文献

迁徙水鸟保护对生物多样性保护具有重要意义。开展水鸟种群数量和幼鸟比例监测,对科学评估其种群变化趋势、制定长期保护策略具有重要价值。长江中下游湿地是东亚-澳大利西亚迁徙路线上重要的水鸟越冬区之一。本研究采用野外同步调查等方法对该区域87个湿地的亟需保护和具有代表性的10种大型越冬水鸟,其中雁形目6种,分别是鸿雁Anser cygnoides、豆雁A.fabalis、灰雁A.grus、白额雁A.albifrons、小白额雁A.erythropus和小天鹅Cygnus columbianus;鹤形目4种,分别是白鹤Leucogeranus leucogeranus、白枕鹤Antigone vipio、灰鹤Grus grus和白头鹤G.monacha,进行了长期监测(2003—2019年冬季),并结合相关文献,评估其种群变化趋势、幼鸟比例和死亡率。研究结果如下:(1)2005—2019年3种水鸟(豆雁、灰雁和灰鹤)的种群数量呈上升趋势,7种水鸟(鸿雁、白额雁、小白额雁、小天鹅、白鹤、白枕鹤和白头鹤)种群数量呈下降趋势;(2)种群趋势下降组(N=7)和上升组(N=3)的幼鸟比例均值在2016—2... 相似文献

The effect of nutritional manipulation during mid and late pregnancy on fetal growth and survival in high fecundity (Fec(B) Fec(+)) Merino ewes was examined. A total of 4 treatment groups was utilized in each of 3 years (1987, 1988 and 1989); and 2 groups were given low nutrition during mid pregnancy while 2 groups received high nutrition during this period. One group from each of these treatments subsequently received a high protein diet 1 to 2 weeks prior to term. Differential feeding during mid pregnancy resulted in the high and low treatment groups varying by 7.5 and 5.0 kg liveweight at Days 100 and 135 of pregnancy, respectively. Fetal survival was not improved by variation in nutritional intake during mid pregnancy (P>0.05) and neither were placental and fetal growth (P>0.05), as indicated by observations on cotyledon diameter and fetal head width, respectively. Kappa-chain constant-region gene sequences in genus Rattus: coding regions are diverging more rapidly than noncoding regions 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We have determined the nucleotide sequence of a 1,200-base pair (bp)
genomic fragment that includes the kappa-chain constant-region gene (C
kappa) from two species of native Australian rodents, Rattus leucopus
cooktownensis and Rattus colletti. Comparison of these sequences with each
other and with other rodent C kappa genes shows three surprising features.
First, the coding regions are diverging at a rate severalfold higher than
that of the nearby noncoding regions. Second, replacement changes within
the coding region are accumulating at a rate at least as great as that of
silent changes. Third, most of the amino acid replacements are localized in
one region of the C kappa domain--namely, the carboxy-terminal "bends" in
the alpha-carbon backbone. These three features have previously been
described from comparisons of the two allelic forms of C kappa genes in R.
norvegicus. These data imply the existence of considerable evolutionary
constraints on the noncoding regions (based on as yet undetermined
functions) or powerful positive selection to diversify a portion of the
constant-region domain (whose physiological significance is not known).
These surprising features of C kappa evolution appear to be characteristic
only of closely related C kappa genes, since comparison of rodent with
human sequences shows the expected greater conservation of coding regions,
as well as a predominance of silent nucleotide substitutions within the
coding regions.

The molecular mechanism of action of MIF, a cytokine that plays a critical role in the host immune and inflammatory response, has not yet been identified. We recently demonstrated that MIF is an enzyme that exhibits oxidoreductase activity by a cysteine thiol-mediated mechanism. Here we further investigated this function by examining the reduction of insulin disulfides by wild-type human MIF (wtMIF) using various substrates, namely glutathione (GSH), dihydrolipoamide, l-cysteine, β-mercaptoethanol and dithiothreitol. The activity of wtMIF was compared to that of the relevant cysteine mutants of MIF and to two carboxy-truncated mutants. Only GSH and dihydrolipoamide were found to serve as reductants, whereas the other substrates were not utilized by MIF. Reduction of insulin disulfides by MIF was closely dependent on the presence of the Cys57-Ala-Leu-Cys60 (CALC) motif-forming cysteines C57 and C60, whereas C81 was not involved (activities: 51±13%, 14±5%, and 70±12% of wtMIF, respectively, and 20±3% for the double mutant C57S/C60S). Confirming the notion that the activity of MIF was dependent on the CALC motif in the central region of the MIF sequence, the C-terminal deletion mutants MIF(1–105) and MIF(1–110) were found to be fully active. The favored use of GSH and dihydrolipoamide indicated that MIF may be involved in the regulation of cellular redox processes and was supported further by the finding that MIF expression by the cell lines COS-1 and RAW 264.7 was significantly induced upon treatment with the oxidant hydrogen peroxide. 相似文献

The interaction of two renin inhibitors, S 86,2033 and S 86,3390, with the uptake system for beta-lactam antibiotics and small peptides in the brush border membrane of enterocytes from rabbit small intestine was investigated using brush border membrane vesicles. Both renin inhibitors inhibited the uptake of the orally active cephalosporin cephalexin into brush border membrane vesicles from rabbit small intestine in a concentration-dependent manner. 1.1 mM of S 86,3390 and 2.5 mM of S 86,2033 led to a half-maximal inhibition of the H(+)-dependent uptake of cephalexin. Both renin inhibitors were stable against peptidases of the brush border membrane. The uptake of cephalexin into brush border membrane vesicles (1 min of incubation) was competitively inhibited by S 86,2033 and S 86,3390 suggesting a direct interaction of these compounds with the intestinal peptide uptake system. The renin inhibitors are transported across the brush border membrane into the intravesicular space as was shown by equilibrium uptake studies dependent upon the medium osmolarity. The uptake of S 86,3390 was stimulated by an inwardly directed H(+)-gradient and occurred with a transient accumulation against a concentration gradient (overshoot phenomenon). The renin inhibitors S 86,2033 and 86,3390 also caused a concentration-dependent inhibition in the extent of photoaffinity labeling of the putative peptide transport protein of apparent Mr 127,000 in the brush border membrane of small intestinal enterocytes. In conclusion, these studies show that renin inhibitors specifically interact with the intestinal uptake system shared by small peptides and beta-lactam antibiotics. 相似文献

Zusammenfassung Verteilung und Populationsdichte der Ätzmuscheln werden bestimmt durch Wassertiefe und Neigungswinkel der Küste sowie besonders durch die Art des Substrates. Oolithische Kalke sind 2–3mal stärker besiedelt als Dolomit.Das Wachstum erfolgt schubweise zwischen Ruheperioden. Es läßt sich errechnen, daß die ersten 10 mm Längenwachstum nach 3 Jahren, die nächsten 10 mm nach 5 Jahren usw. erreicht werden, so daß sich für die größten Muscheln (80 mm) ein Alter von 80 Jahren ergibt.Dei Bohrtätigkeit hängt stark von der Beschaffenheit des Substrates ab. Die sog. Bohrrate betrug für 30 mm große Lithophagen in präparierten Steinen im Freiland 0,09-0,25 ml in 12 Wochen, das sind 0,5–1 ml bezogen auf 1 Jahr. Im Labor betrug sie nur ein Drittel davon.Die Ätzwirkung in die Tiefe hängt direkt von der Korngröße des Substrates ab. Die aus ihren Bindungen gelösten Kristalle werden als Pseudofaeces über die Wimperbahnen entfernt. Die Menge des produzierten Feinsediments kann ungefähr aus dem Lochvolumen berechnet werden.Der Küstenabbau durch Ätzmuscheln ist zwar auf relativ kleine Gebiete beschränkt, kann aber im steilen Declivium oolithischer Kalke in 1–2m Tiefe mehr als 40 cm/m2 in 1000 Jahren betragen.
Summary The depth of water and the inclination angle of the coast and, in particular, the kind of substratum determine the distribution and population density of date mussels. Oolitic limestones are twice to three times as highly populated as dolomites.The growth takes place in stages, between periods of rest. 10 to 20% ofLithophaga lithophaga having a length of about 30mm grew by 0.4 to 3.1 mm in the period of 12 weeks in the substratum. 1 to 2% of mussels with a size of 50 to 60 mm grew by 0.1 to 1 mm outside the substratum. Small mussels grew more frequently and to relatively greater extent than big ones. The first 10 mm of growth in length occurs in the first three years, the next 10 mm after 5 years, etc. so that the biggest mussels (80 mm) will be about 80 years old.The boring activity depends on the condition of the animal and, largely, on the kind of substratum. The boring rate on prepared stones in the open was 0.09 to 0.25 ml in 12 weeks forLithophaga lithophaga with a size of 30mm, that is 0.5 to 1 ml per year. In the laboratory, this amounted to only a third.The depth of the etching effect depends on the granule size in the substratum. The crystals released from the substrate are removed as pseudofeces via the ciliary epithelium. The amount of the fine sediment may be calculated roughly from the volume of the hole.Finally, an attempt is made to apply the experimental findings to the conditions prevailing in the sampling area. It is true that the destruction of the coast by date mussels is restricted to relatively small areas, but it may amount to more than 40 cm/m2 at a depth of 1 to 2 meters and continue for a period of 1000 years on the steep slope of oolitic limestones.相似文献
