Partially nonhomologous (heterologous) synapsis of meiotic chromosomes in a spontaneous desynaptic mutant form of rye is determined by two recessive genes, sy2a and sy2b, that have independent expression and inheritance. The third gene, dominant inhibitor suppressing the mutant phenotype, has been revealed in hybrid combinations between sy2 mutants and lines segregating other meiotic mutants: sy10 (heterologous synapsis), sy1, and sy9(asynapsis). All three genes determining desynapsis (sy2a, sy2b, and I) were shown to be nonallelic to monogenic mutations sy10, sy1, and sy9, inherited independently of them and expressed at later stages of prophase I than the sy10 gene. The possibility of modifying monogenic segregation of mutation sy2 by gametophyte selection for a locus linked to the gene expressed as sy2 at particular frequencies of recombination between this gene and selected locus is discussed.  相似文献

Analysis of manifestation and inheritance of a new mutation inducing irregular synapsis in rye showed that abnormal phenotype is determined by a recessive allele of the sy19 gene. In the homozygotes for this mutation, even at the light microscopic level, abnormal formation of bivalents is already observed at pachytene–diakinesis. At metaphase I, the univalent frequency varies from 0 to 14; in a few cells, multivalent associations of chromosomes, which are not clearly oriented in the spindle, are detected. Electron microscopy of synaptonemal complexes revealed both homologous and heterologous synapsis in homozygotes for sy19, namely partial loss of the ability to stringent homology search. Analysis of joint inheritance of sy19 and asynaptic sy1 mutations showed that they are nonallelic, inherited independently, and interact by recessive epistasis. The phenotype of doublesy1sy19 mutants indicates that thesy19 gene conditioning heterologous synapsis operates at meiosis later than the synaptic gene sy1. The epistatic group of mutations, sy9 > sy1 > sy19 and sy3, was determined.  相似文献

The distribution of cells through the phases of the cell cycle by DNA flow cytofluorimetry was analysed to investigate the effects of UV irradiation on cell cycle progression in asynchronous Chinese hamster cells with different UV-sensitivity: cell line V79 (UV-resistant cells), and UV-sensitive clones: B6, CHS1, CHS2 and XII. The UV-irradiated cultures show a large accumulation of cells in S phase, the effect increasing with UV dose increase, which may point to an inhibition of the DNA chain elongation. UV-sensitive clones show a larger and more prolongated increase in the proportion of cells in S phase after irradiation with smaller dose than UV-resistant cells. Besides, the UV-sensitive clone XII shows an inhibition of movement of irradiated cells from G1 into S phase, that may testify to an inhibition of replicon initiation. These results suggest that there is a correlation in UV-irradiated Chinese hamster cells between alteration in cell cycle progression and UV-sensitivity of cells.  相似文献

We have analyzed the partial sequences of the mitochondrial COI gene along with the amino acid sequences of cytochrome oxidase subunit I, encoded by this gene region, in representatives of 11 genera of salmonoid fish. For amino acid sequences, two alternative networks are constructed with outgroups represented by either Esocoidei or Osmeroidei as the supposed ancestral groups. This way, Osmeroidei appear to be closer to the salmonoid fish than Esocoidei, and their presence in the network as an outgroup explains the available data on the morphology and karyology of salmonoids much better. A number of the results of this study are fundamentally new. In particular, the slowing down of the molecular evolution of the grayling (Thymallidae) is shown. We conclude that the charr (Salvelinus) is one of the modern genera of salmonoids closest to their ancestor. The hypothesis of the phylogenetic proximity of the genera Brachymystax, Hucho, and Salmo has been confirmed. We also discuss the possibility that it is namely the changes in the amino acid sequence of cytochrome oxidase subunit I that lead to postzygotic reproductive isolation between taxa.  相似文献

The left ventricular power (LVP), stroke volume (SV), cardiac output (Q), systolic blood pressure (BPs), and the overall physical activity of schoolgirls attending gymnasium classes with in-depth instruction in specific subjects were lower than in those attending general education classes with the standard curriculum. There were no differences in heart rate (HR), specific peripheral resistance (SPR), or diastolic blood pressure. The stroke index (SI) and cardiac index (CI) were, respectively, moderately and strongly correlated with the degree of motor activity.  相似文献

A synthetic scheme for preparation of (Gly-Pro) n , (Pro-Gly) n (n = 2, 3), and (Pro-Gly-Pro) n (n = 1, 2) peptides was elaborated. The effect of the synthesized peptides and the Gly-Pro and Pro-Gly dipeptides on survival of cultured cells of PC12 rat pheochromocytoma was studied under the conditions of oxidative stress induced by brief incubation of the cells with hydrogen peroxide. Peptides of the general formula (Gly-Pro) n and the Pro-Gly-Pro peptide at a concentration of 0.2–100 μM were shown to decrease the number of damaged cells. The Gly-Pro peptide was the most active and decreased the number of damaged cells by 49% on average at a concentration of 100 μM.  相似文献

The effect of certain nutrients on the growth and production of the Bacillus intermedius subtilisin-like serine proteinase by the recombinant strain Bacillus subtilis AJ73(pCS9) was studied. Glucose was found to inhibit the synthesis of proteinase in the early (28 h of growth) but not in the late stationary phase (48 h of growth). The inhibitory effect of the other mono-and disaccharides studied was less pronounced. Casamino acids added to the medium at concentrations of 0.1–1% as an additional carbon and nitrogen source stimulated enzyme biosynthesis. Individual amino acids (cysteine, asparagine, glutamine, tryptophan, histidine, and glutamate) also stimulated enzyme biosynthesis in the early stationary phase by 25–30%, whereas other amino acids (valine, leucine, alanine, and aspartate) were ineffective or even slightly inhibitory to enzyme production. The stimulatory effect of the first group of amino acids on the synthesis of proteinase in the late stationary phase was negligible. In contrast, the bivalent ions Ca2+, Mg2+, and Mn2+ stimulated biosynthesis of proteinase in the late stationary phase (by 20–60%) and not in the early stationary phase. The data indicate that there are differences in the biosyntheses of proteinase by the recombinant B. subtilis strain during the early and late periods of the stationary phases.  相似文献
