Various structural anomalies of the left ventricular papillary muscles have been observed in recent years. Many of these have been linked to electrocardiographic aberrations. Recently two reports have appeared where the base of the posterior papillary muscle was identified as the source of frequent premature ventricular complexes. In some of these patients these frequent premature ventricular complexes have led to left ventricular dysfunction. In this report a newly discovered structural variant of the anterior papillary muscle is described--the bifid papillary muscle. Furthermore, it is proposed that this bifid papillary muscle is the source of frequent ventricular premature complexes, presenting as bigeminy in a patient with normal left ventricular function. 相似文献

like flavanoids against COX-2. Molecular docking using 12 known flavanoids against COX-2 by FlexX and of ArgusLab were
performed. All compounds showed a favourable binding energy of >-10 KJ/mol in FlexX and > -8 kcal/mol in ArgusLab.

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-38 mol%-3-hydroxyvalerate) [P(3HB-co-38mol%-3HV)] was produced by Cupriavidus sp. USMAA2-4 in the presence of oleic acid and 1-pentanol. Due to enormous production of empty fruit bunch (EFB) in the oil palm plantation and high production cost of P(3HB-co-3HV), oil palm EFB fibers were used for biocomposites preparation. In this study, maleic anhydride (MA) and benzoyl peroxide (DBPO) were used to improve the miscibility between P(3HB-co-3HV) and EFB fibers. Introduction of MA into P(3HB-co-3HV) backbone reduced the molecular weight and improved the thermal stability of P(3HB-co-3HV). Thermal stability of P(3HB-co-3HV)/EFB composites was shown to be comparable to that of commercial packaging product. Composites with 35% EFB fibers content have the highest tensile strength compared to 30% and 40%. P(3HB-co-3HV)/EFB blends showed less chemicals leached compared to commercial packaging. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper was to carry out microwave induced pyrolysis of oil palm biomass (shell and fibers) with the help of char as microwave absorber (MA). Rapid heating and yield of microwave pyrolysis products such as bio-oil, char, and gas was found to depend on the ratio of biomass to microwave absorber. Temperature profiles revealed the heating characteristics of the biomass materials which can rapidly heat-up to high temperature within seconds in presence of MA. Some characterization of pyrolysis products was also presented. The advantage of this technique includes substantial reduction in consumption of energy, time and cost in order to produce bio-oil from biomass materials. Large biomass particle size can be used directly in microwave heating, thus saving grinding as well as moisture removal cost. A synergistic effect was found in using MA with oil palm biomass. 相似文献

A novel, precise, accurate and rapid isocratic reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic/ultraviolet (RP-HPLC/UV) method was developed, optimized and validated for simultaneous determination of rosuvastatin and atorvastatin in human serum using naproxen sodium as an internal standard. Effect of different experimental parameters and various particulate columns on the analysis of these analytes was evaluated. The method showed adequate separation for rosuvastatin and atorvastatin and best resolution was achieved with Brownlee analytical C18 column (150×4.6 mm, 5 μm) using methanol-water (68:32, v/v; pH adjusted to 3.0 with trifluoroacetic acid) as a mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.5 ml/min and wavelength of 241 nm. The calibration curves were linear over the concentration ranges of 2.0-256 ng/ml for rosuvastatin and 3.0-384 ng/ml for atorvastatin. The lower limit of detection (LLOD) and lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) for rosuvastatin were 0.6 and 2.0 ng/ml while for atorvastatin were 1.0 and 3.0ng/ml, respectively. All the analytes were separated in less than 7.0 min. The proposed method could be applied for routine laboratory analysis of rosuvastatin and atorvastatin in human serum samples, pharmaceutical formulations, drug-drug interaction studies and pharmacokinetics studies. 相似文献

Goniothalamin (GTN) is a styrylpyrrone derivative from Goniothalamus umbrosus and other Annonaceae species. It has been shown to have anti-cancer and apoptosis-inducing properties against various human tumour and animal cell lines. The compound has also been shown to be active in vivo against DMBA-induced rat mammary tumours and was reported as an anti-fertility agent in rats. The aim of our study was to assess the genotoxicity of GTN in CHO cells using the UKEMS guidelines. A metabolic activation fraction (S9) was prepared according to standard methods. The methylthiazoletetrazolium (MTT) screening assay was then carried out to determine the cytotoxicity index (IC50) of GTN. The average IC50 value was 12.45 (+/- 3.63)microM. The mitotic index (MI) assay was then performed to determine the clastogenicity indices (MI(C25), MI(C50) and MI(C100)) of GTN. The chromosome aberration (CA) induction assay using air-dried metaphase spread was then performed to investigate the clastogenic effects of goniothalamin. Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) and ethylmethanesulphonate (EMS) were used as positive controls in the presence and absence of S9 metabolic activation, respectively. The anti-genotoxicity effect of GTN was also assessed using a combination of GTN and EMS, and GTN and BaP. Dose-responses of CA frequencies were determined for both, the genotoxicity and anti-genotoxicity effects. GTN on its own and when combined with positive controls, was found to induce and enhance CA, respectively. Chromatid and whole chromosome breaks/gaps, as well as interchanges, endoreduplications and ring chromosomes were the main types of aberration induced by GTN. The overall clastogenic effect of GTN was statistically significant. In conclusion, GTN is potentially a genotoxic or clastogenic substance without any anti-genotoxic properties. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: Low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma has been fully described histologically; however, the fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytologic findings are scantily defined, and the distinction from other benign and malignant soft tissue tumors can be difficult. CASE: We examined FNA cytologic material from a slowly growing, large chest wall mass in a 28-year-old woman. The surgical specimen was processed for routine histology and immunohistochemical studies. The cytologic smears were adequately cellular, showing spindly cells with uniform, elongated nuclei; small, inconspicuous nucleoli; and scanty, wispy cytoplasm associated with myxoid material. No significant nuclear pleomorphism or mitoses were noted. The excised tumor was well circumscribed, focally infiltrating the surrounding muscles. The cut surface was variable, featuring fibrous, solid, fleshy and myxoid areas. Microscopically, the solid, fibrous areas displayed increased cellularity with storiform, intersecting and parallel patterns. In the myxoid areas the cells grew in a haphazard fashion and appeared floating in abundant mucoid matrix associated with a capillary vascular network similar to the chicken-wire pattern seen in cases of myxoid liposarcoma. The tumor cells were spindly, with fusiform, uniform nuclei. Focal, moderate nuclear pleomorphism was noted. The mitotic index was low. The tumor cells were positive for vimentin, alpha-1-antitrypsin and lysozyme and negative for S-100, actin, desmin and CD34. CONCLUSION: Although low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma is a rare neoplasm, it should be recognized and distinguished from other soft tissue tumors because of its low malignant potential. The definitive FNA cytologic diagnosis can be challenging but is possible if the tumor is adequately sampled, with multiple passes from different areas. Clinical and radiologic correlations are of great help. All spindle cell tumors with myxoid changes, such as myxoid liposarcoma, myxofibrosarcoma, cellular myxoma, myxoid leiomyosarcoma and peripheral nerve sheath tumors, should be considered in the differential diagnosis.
