The syntheses and structures of four antimony chloride complexes with tridentate N,N,O Schiff base ligands are reported. The tridentate ligands derived from 2-acetylpyridine and various acid hydrazides all lost a proton upon coordination. The ligand was either negative or zwitterionic depending on the acid hydrazide. The complexes are water soluble although a hydrolysis reaction can occur. The appearance of the μ-dichloro-μ-oxo-tetrachlorodiantimonate(III) anion in one of the complexes was unexpected but appears to be related to the temperatures used in the synthesis. The variation in the distances in the various complexes and the anion are discussed using bond valence sum calculations. 相似文献

Colostrum, the sole diet for newborns, is an emerging nutraceutical. To date, the chemopreventive effect of Bovine Colostrum against liver injury induced by the potent carcinogen, 7,12-dimethyl-Benz[a]anthracene (DMBA) is unexplored. Humans are daily exposed to DMBA which is a highly lipophilic environmental organic pollutant. The study aimed to investigate the hepatoprotective role of Bovine Colostrum against DMBA-induced hepatotoxicity using a rat model. Fifty male rats were divided into five groups; GI (control), GII (olive oil, vehicle for DMBA), GIII (DMBA), GIV (DMBA + Bovine Colostrum), GV (Bovine Colostrum). After 12 weeks, body weight changes and mortality were calculated. Histological and ultrastructural examinations of liver tissue were performed. Expressions of p53, TGFβ2, TNF-α, S6K2, and c20orf20 were assessed by RT-PCR. Post-treatment with Bovine Colostrum increased both the body weight and the survival rate of rats treated with DMBA. In addition, remarkable protection against the pathological effect of DMBA was noted. Ultrastructurally, Bovine Colostrum ameliorated/prevented most of the toxic effects of DMBA on hepatocytes, including irregularities of nuclear envelope, clumping, and margination of heterochromatin aggregates, segregated nucleoli, and mitochondrial pleomorphism. Bovine Colostrum administration down-regulated p53, C20orf20, and S6K2 mRNA levels, and up-regulated TNF-α and TGFβ2. In conclusion, Bovine Colostrum have a protective effect against DMBA-induced toxicity on the liver of albino rats. Consequently, Bovine Colostrum may prevent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons-induced hepatotoxicity and may be useful in promoting human health if supplemented in the diet. 相似文献

Racemic hydroxychloroquine-sulfate (HCQ-sulfate) was administered to rats orally. Groups of 9 male and 9 female rats received doses of 0, 8, 16, or 24 mg/kg/day for 6 weeks, followed by a reduction of the higher doses to 8 mg/kg/day for the duration of the study. Whole blood samples were collected at 0, 3, 6, 8, and 10 weeks, and eleven tissues were harvested after the tenth week. The concentrations and enantiomer ratios of the parent drug and three metabolites, desethylhydroxychloroquine (DHCQ), desethylchloroquine (DCQ), and bisdesethylchloroquine (BDCQ), were determined. The highest concentration of HCQ was found in the intestinal smooth muscle, and the lowest in the brain and adipose tissue. The highest concentrations of the metabolites were found in the liver, adrenals, and lung tissue. The metabolism of HCQ in the rats was found to be stereoselective with R/S > 1 for the drug and < 1 for the metabolites. Gender-specific differences in the proportions of the drug and its metabolites and their enantiomers in blood and tissue were found. Varying dosages appeared to have only a temporary influence on blood concentrations and not to effect the enantiomer ratios in blood. Only a limited number of tissues exhibited significant differences between dose groups. The hypothesis that large granular lymphocytes (LGL) are capable of directed locomotion (chemotaxis) was tested. A population of LGL isolated from discontinuous Percoll gradients migrated along concentration gradients of N-formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (f-MLP), casein, and C5a, well known chemoattractants for polymorphonuclear leukocytes and monocytes, as well as interferon-beta and colony-stimulating factor. Interleukin 2, tuftsin, platelet-derived growth factor, and fibronectin were inactive. Migratory responses were greater in Percoll fractions with the highest lytic activity and HNK-1+ cells. The chemotactic response to f-MLP, casein, and C5a was always greater when the chemoattractant was present in greater concentration in the lower compartment of the Boyden chamber. Optimum chemotaxis was observed after a 1 hr incubation that made use of 12 micron nitrocellulose filters. LGL exhibited a high degree of nondirected locomotion when allowed to migrate for longer periods (greater than 2 hr), and when cultured in vitro for 24 to 72 hr in the presence or absence of IL 2 containing phytohemagluttinin-conditioned medium. The chemotactic LGL was HNK-1+, OKT11+ or HNK-1+, OKT11- on the basis of monoclonal antibody and complement depletion. They did not bear either T cell or monocyte cell surface markers, exhibiting an OKT3-, OKT4-, OKT8-, OKM1-, and MO2- phenotype, and did not form E rosettes at 29 degrees C, which is characteristic of lytic NK cells in contrast to T cells. Furthermore, a rat LGL leukemia (RNK) exhibited a chemotactic response to both f-MLP and casein. LGL chemotaxis to f-MLP could be inhibited in a dose-dependent manner by the inactive structural analog CBZ-phe-met, and the RNK tumor line specifically bound f-ML[3H]P, suggesting that LGL bear receptors for the chemotactic peptide. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to develop an automatic segmentation method in order to identify postural surface EMG segments in long-duration recordings. Surface EMG signals were collected from the cervical erector spinae (CES), erector spinae (ES), external oblique (EO), and tibialis anterior (TA) muscles of 11 subjects using a bipolar electrode configuration. Subjects remained seated in a car seat over the 150-min data-collection period. The modified dynamic cumulative sum (MDCS) algorithm was used to automatically segment the surface EMG signals. Signals were rejected by comparison with an exponential mathematical model of the spectrum of a surface EMG signal. The average power ratio computed between two successive retained segments was used to classify segments as postural or surface EMG. The presence of a negative slope of a regression line fitted to the median frequency values of postural surface EMG segments was taken as an indication of fatigue. Alpha level was set at 0.05. The overall classification error rate was 8%, and could be performed in 25 min for a 150-min signal using a custom-built software program written in C (Borland Software Corporation, CA, USA). This error rate could be enhanced by concentrating on the rejection method, which caused most of the misclassification (6%). Furthermore, the elimination of non-postural surface EMG segments by the use of a segmentation approach enabled muscular fatigue to be identified in signals that contained no evidence of fatigue when analysed using traditional methods. 相似文献
