Neurotensin (NT) stimulates pancreatic exocrine secretion in dogs and humans. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of exogenous neurotensin on pancreatic exocrine secretion in rats. Five Sprague-Dawley male rats were prepared with pancreatic, gastric and duodenal fistulas. Bile was shunted into the duodenum in order to collect pure pancreatic juice. 24 h later, neurotensin (0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 1.0 nmol/kg) was infused intravenously in a random fashion. Pancreatic juice was collected every 10 min, and the volume was recorded and protein and bicarbonate were measured. Neurotensin stimulated, in a dose-related manner, the pancreatic secretion of water, protein and bicarbonate. Neurotensin may be involved in the physiologic control of pancreatic secretion in rats.  相似文献

Pheasant reintroduction and conservation efforts have been in place in Pakistan since the 1980 s, yet there is still a scarcity of data on pheasant microbiome and zoonosis. Instead of growing vast numbers of bacteria in the laboratory, to investigate the fecal microbiome, pheasants (green and ring neck pheasant) were analyzed using 16S rRNA metagenomics and using IonS5TMXL sequencing from two flocks more than 10 birds. Operational taxonomic unit (OTU) cluster analysis and phylogenetic tree analysis was performed using Mothur software against the SSUrRNA database of SILVA and the MUSCLE (Version 3.8.31) software. Results of the analysis showed that firmicutes were the most abundant phylum among the top ten phyla, in both pheasant species, followed by other phyla such as actinobacteria and proteobacteria in ring necked pheasant and bacteroidetes in green necked pheasant. Bacillus was the most relatively abundant genus in both pheasants followed by Oceanobacillus and Teribacillus for ring necked pheasant and Lactobacillus for green necked pheasant. Because of their well-known beneficial characteristics, these genus warrants special attention. Bird droppings comprise germs from the urinary system, gut, and reproductive sites, making it difficult to research each anatomical site at the same time. We conclude that metagenomic analysis and classification provides baseline information of the pheasant fecal microbiome that plays a role in disease and health.  相似文献

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide among both men and women, with more than 1 million deaths annually. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for about 80% of all lung cancers.Although recent advances have been made in diagnosis and treatment strategies, the prognosis of NSCLC patients is poor and it is basically due to a lack of early diagnostic tools.However, in the last years genetic and biochemical studies have provided more information about the protein and gene's mutations involved in lung tumors. Additionally, recent proteomic and microRNA's approaches have been introduced to help biomarker discovery.Here we would like to discuss the most recent discoveries in lung cancer pathways, focusing on the genetic and epigenetic factors that play a crucial role in malignant cell proliferation, and how they could be helpful in diagnosis and targeted therapy.  相似文献

Twelve mature wethers were used in an experiment of change-over design to determine the effect of complete diet feeding on intake and digestibility of diets based on alkalitreated straw and a concentrate containing rolled barley and extracted soya bean meal. Two diets were used: D1 with a 50:50, and D2 with a 75:25 ratio of straw:concentrates on a dry matter basis. The straw and concentrates of each diet were given either separately (S) or as a complete diet (C). Complete diets gave a slightly, but not significantly higher intake (C, 86.5) and S, 82.5 g dry matter /kg W0.75 per day). The separate method gave a significantly higher digestibility coefficient for dry matter (C, 62.2 and S, 65.5; P < 0.05) and for crude fibre (C, 57.2 and S, 62.5; P < 0.01). Water intake increased by 42.7 ml g?1 Na derived from NaOH. There were no significant interactions between the method of feeding and the type of diet in intake and digestibility of the diets or in the intake of water.  相似文献

Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose leads to liver injury. NLRP3 inflammasome is a key player in APAP‐induced inflammation. Also, apoptosis and liver regeneration play an important role in liver injury. Therefore, we assessed allicin's protective effect on APAP‐induced hepatotoxicity and studied its effect on NLRP3 inflammasome and apoptosis. Mice in the APAP group were injected by APAP (250 mg/kg, intraperitoneal). The allicin‐treated group received allicin orally (10 mg/kg/d) during 7 days before APAP injection. Serum and hepatic tissues were separated 24 hours after APAP injection. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), albumin, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and hepatic malondialdehyde (MDA) were assessed using the colorimetric method. Hepatic NLRP3 inflammasome, caspase‐1, and interleukin‐1β (IL‐1β) were estimated using enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay. Hepatic Bcl‐2 and Ki‐67 were investigated by immunohistochemistry. APAP significantly increased AST, ALT, and ALP, whereas allicin significantly decreased their levels. Also, APAP significantly decreased albumin and allicin significantly improved it. APAP produced changes in liver morphology, including inflammation and massive coagulative necrosis. Allicin protected the liver from APAP‐induced necrosis, apoptosis, and hepatocellular degeneration via increasing Bcl‐2 and Ki‐67 levels. APAP significantly increased the hepatic MDA, whereas allicin significantly prevented this increase. APAP markedly activated the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway and consequently increased the production of caspase‐1 and IL‐1β. Interestingly, we found that allicin significantly inhibited NLRP3 inflammasome activation, which resulted in decreased caspase‐1 and IL‐1β levels. Allicin has a hepatoprotective effect against APAP‐induced liver injury via the decline of oxidative stress and inhibition of the inflammasome pathway and apoptosis. Therefore, allicin might be a novel tool to halt the progression of APAP‐stimulated hepatotoxicity.  相似文献

This study examined the reliability and scaling of the flexor carpi radialis (FCR) V-wave during submaximal and maximal voluntary muscle contractions (MVC). 23 participants were tested on three separate sessions. For each session, participants performed isometric wrist flexions at five contraction levels (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 %MVC). When the target contraction level was reached, a supramaximal electrical stimulus was applied to the median nerve in order to elicit an FCR V-wave. Across all participants, the FCR V-wave amplitude, normalized to its superimposed M-wave amplitude, increased from 0.030 ± 0.001 to 0.143 ± 0.015 (P < 0.001) as the muscle contraction increased from 20 to 100 %MVC. Contraction level did not influence the reliability of evoking the FCR V-wave, as the V-wave demonstrated both stability and consistency. With the exception of a single day main effect during the 20 %MVC condition, V:Msup was not different across days or trials (P > 0.05) indicating measurement stability. High reliability co-efficients (0.827–0.913) at each contraction level signified measurement consistency. This study establishes that FCR V-waves can be reliably evoked during both submaximal and maximal muscle contractions and suggests the possibility for FCR V-wave recordings to be used to document neuromuscular adaptations associated with factors such as training or fatigue.  相似文献

Five novel macrocyclic monoterpene O-glycosides, parkinsenes A–E (15), and eleven known phenolic metabolites including three 3-O-glycosylflavonols (68), five C-glycosylflavones (913), p-hydroxybenzoic acid (14), esculetin (15), and diosmetin (16) were isolated from the leaves and small twigs of Parkinsonia aculeata L. (Fabaceae). Their structures were established by chemical and spectroscopic analyses (UV, ESI–MS, and 1D/2D NMR). The investigated 80 % aqueous methanol extract (AME) showed significant analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, hypocholesterolemic, and antioxidant activities in a dose-dependent manner using two different doses 250 and 500 mg/kg b. wt.  相似文献
