Abstract: Several new taxa of snakeflies (Raphidioptera) are described from the Lower Cretaceous deposits of the Wealden, UK (Barremian), Montsec, Spain (Barremian) and the Crato Formation, Brazil (Aptian). Mesoraphidia ednae sp. nov. and M. hilli sp. nov. are described from the Wealden; Nanoraphidia lithographica sp. nov. and Iberoraphidia dividua gen. et sp. nov. are described from Montsec, and Baissoptera lisae sp. nov. is described from the Crato Formation. The geographical range of Nanoraphidia has potentially been extended. 相似文献

Abstract: Early Middle Ordovician graptolites from the Albjära and Lovisefred drill cores (Scania, southern Sweden) can be differentiated into the Isograptus victoriae , Isograptus sp. nov. 2 and Maeandrograptus schmalenseei , Arienigraptus dumosus type/ Pseudisograptus manubriatus biozones of Castlemainian and Yapeenian age and the Arienigraptus zhejiangensis and Undulograptus sinicus biozones of early Darriwilian age, replacing the old, long-ranging Didymograptus hirundo Biozone. Faunas from the drill cores include a number of species not previously recognized in Scandinavia. 相似文献

Background
Myometrial growth and remodeling of the cytoskeleton and focal adhesions during late pregnancy may be critical aspects of myometrial activation and thus labour. Yet our understanding of these aspects is inhibited by the paucity of information concerning the components of focal adhesions in the myometrium. The focal adhesion protein hydrogen peroxide-inducible clone-5 (Hic-5) has recently been found in mononuclear smooth muscle but was not examined in the myometrium during pregnancy. Thus, the goal of this study was to characterize Hic-5 mRNA and protein expression in the rat myometrium during pregnancy and labour. 相似文献94.

Introduction
Our lab has developed an effective nutrient-rich solution that facilitates energy production and control of oxidative stress during static cold storage of the intestine; however, the requirement for oncotic agents, such as hydroxyethylstarch (HES), has not been evaluated. This study investigated the effectiveness and requirement for HES in an intraluminal preservation solution during a clinically relevant period of cold storage. Methods
Rat intestines were procured, including an intravascular flush with University of Wisconsin solution followed by a ‘back table’ intraluminal flush with a nutrient-rich preservation solution containing varying amounts of HES (n = 6 per group): Group 1, 0%; Group 2, 2.5%; Group 3, 5%; Group 4, 10%. Energetics, oxidative stress, and morphology were assessed over a 24 h time-course of cold storage. Results
Overall, the 5% HES solution, Group 3, demonstrated superior energetic status (ATP and total adenylates) compared to all groups, P < 0.05. Malondialdehyde levels indicated a reduction in oxidative stress in Groups 3 and 4 (P < 0.05). After 12 h, median modified Parks’ grades for Groups 2 and 3 were significantly lower than Groups 1 and 4, P < 0.05.Conclusion
Our data suggests that when employing an intraluminal preservation solution for static organ storage, oncotic support is a fundamental requirement; 5% HES is optimal. 相似文献97.

The cell cycle has been extensively studied in various organisms, and the recent access to an overwhelming amount of genomic data has given birth to a new integrated approach called comparative genomics. Comparing the cell cycle across species shows that its regulation is evolutionarily conserved; the best-known example is the pivotal role of cyclin-dependent kinases in all the eukaryotic lineages hitherto investigated. Interestingly, the molecular network associated with the activity of the CDK-cyclin complexes is also evolutionarily conserved, thus, defining a core cell cycle set of genes together with lineage-specific adaptations. In this paper, we describe the core cell cycle genes of Ostreococcus tauri, the smallest free-living eukaryotic cell having a minimal cellular organization with a nucleus, a single chloroplast, and only one mitochondrion. This unicellular marine green alga, which has diverged at the base of the green lineage, shows the minimal yet complete set of core cell cycle genes described to date. It has only one homolog of CDKA, CDKB, CDKD, cyclin A, cyclin B, cyclin D, cyclin H, Cks, Rb, E2F, DP, DEL, Cdc25, and Wee1. We have also added the APC and SCF E3 ligases to the core cell cycle gene set. We discuss the potential of genome-wide analysis in the identification of divergent orthologs of cell cycle genes in different lineages by mining the genomes of evolutionarily important and strategic organisms. 相似文献

The Cdc25 protein phosphatase is a key enzyme involved in the regulation of the G(2)/M transition in metazoans and yeast. However, no Cdc25 ortholog has so far been identified in plants, although functional studies have shown that an activating dephosphorylation of the CDK-cyclin complex regulates the G(2)/M transition. In this paper, the first green lineage Cdc25 ortholog is described in the unicellular alga Ostreococcus tauri. It encodes a protein which is able to rescue the yeast S. pombe cdc25-22 conditional mutant. Furthermore, microinjection of GST-tagged O. tauri Cdc25 specifically activates prophase-arrested starfish oocytes. In vitro histone H1 kinase assays and anti-phosphotyrosine Western Blotting confirmed the in vivo activating dephosphorylation of starfish CDK1-cyclinB by recombinant O. tauri Cdc25. We propose that there has been coevolution of the regulatory proteins involved in the control of M-phase entry in the metazoan, yeast and green lineages. 相似文献
