Five bufadienolides (1-5) isolated from the leaves of Kalanchoe pinnata and K. daigremontiana×tubiflora (Crassulaceae) were examined for their inhibitory effects on Epstein-Barr virus early antigen (EBV-EA) activation in Raji cells induced by the tumor promoter, 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate. All bufadienolides showed inhibitory activity, and bryophyllin A (1) exhibited the most marked inhibition (IC50=0.4 μM) among the tested compounds. Bryophyllin C (2), a reduction analogue of 1, and bersaldegenin-3-acetate (3) lacking the orthoacetate moiety were less active. These results strongly suggest that bufadienolides are potential cancer chemopreventive agents. 相似文献

The accumulation of vitamin B6 by Pichia guilliermondii Wickerham NK–2 strain grown on hydrocarbon was investigated. Ammonium acetate was more effective than other nitrogen sources tested. Satisfactory utilization by the yeast strain was observed in n-alkanes of C10–C18, and n-pentadecane was the best for vitamin B6 production. Vitamin B6 was excreted in the cultural broth mainly in the form of pyridoxal, The maximal vitamin B6 production was approximately 25 mg per liter of the culture broth. 相似文献

The Acid-stable α-amylase and the acid-unstable α-amylase from Aspergillus niger contained one mole of sulfhydryl group per one mole of enzyme, which probably existed correlating with calcium atom that was essential for the amylase activity.Iodine reacted at acidic pH specifically with the sulfhydryl group of both enzymes and oxidized it to considerably high degree, since about 4 eq of iodine per mole of sulfhydryl group of both enzymes were consumed. The modification of the sulfhydryl group of the acid-stable α-amylase did not affect the amylase acitvity, while, that of the acid-unstable α-amylase reduced it to 70 per cents intact enzyme. It was difficult to carry out carboxy-methylation of the sulfhydryl group of the acid-stable α-amylase under mild conditions maintaining its activity, but that of the acid-unstable α-amylase was easily achieved.These facts suggested that some differences existed in the neighborhood of the sulfhydryl group of both enzymes, and that the sulfhydryl group of them was not the active site. 相似文献

Dopastin, an inhibitor of dopamine β-hydroxylase of microbial origin, was shown to be N-[2(S)-nitrosohydroxylamino-3-methylbutyl] crotonamide based on chemical, spectroscopic and synthetic studies. The total synthesis of dopastin was completed in 8 steps starting from l-valinol. N-Nitrosohydroxylamino function was introduced through an oxaziran with retention of the absolute configuration in the final product. Data are presented to show the gas chromatographic identification of a total of 18 saturated aliphatic γ- and δ-lactones obtained from melted beef depot fat, namely, δ-C6, γ-C7, γ-C8, γ-C9, and a homologous series of γ- and δ-lactones of the even-carbon numbers C10 to C16 and of smaller amount of the odd-carbon numbers C11 to C15. Thirty eight new compounds with juvenile hormone (JH) activity were synthesized and evaluated biologically on Bombyx mori L. Low protein content and sufficient grain rigidity are desired properties for the rice used in high-quality sake brewing such as Daiginjo-shu (polishing ratio of the rice, less than 50%). Two kinds of rice, sake rice (SR) and cooking rice (CR), have been used for sake brewing. Compared with those of SR, analyses of CR for high-quality sake brewing using highly polished rice have been limited. Here we described the original screening of late-maturing CR Sensyuraku (SEN) as rice with low protein content and characterization of its properties for high-quality sake brewing. The protein content of SEN was lower than those of SR Gohyakumangoku (GOM) and CR Yukinosei (YUK), and its grain rigidity was higher than that of GOM. The excellent properties of SEN with respect to both water-adsorption and enzyme digestibility were confirmed using a Rapid Visco Analyzer (RVA). Further, we confirmed a clear taste of sake produced from SEN by sensory evaluation. Thus, SEN has excellent properties, equivalent to those of SR, for high-quality sake brewing. 相似文献

Sixteen new Cecropia juvenile hormone (JH) analogs with different alkyl substituents at C–7 and C–11 were synthesized as stereoisomeric mixtures.
