The interaction between neurons of sensorimotor and visual cortices was investigated by cross-correlation analysis. In this interaction, we examined the role of sensorimotor neurons responding to light. In rabbits with a hidden focus of excitation, neurons of the sensorimotor cortex responding to light significantly more often formed correlation joints with cells of the visual cortex than neurons not responding to light. On the other hand, neurons of the visual cortex significantly more often formed correlation joints with neurons of the sensorimotor cortex not responding to light. 相似文献

Genome stability is ensured by multiple surveillance mechanisms that monitor the duplication, segregation, and integrity of the genome throughout the cell cycle. Depletion of components of the spliceosome, a macromolecular machine essential for mRNA maturation and gene expression, has been associated with increased DNA damage and cell cycle defects. However, the specific role for the spliceosome in these processes has remained elusive, as different cell cycle defects have been reported depending on the specific spliceosome subunit depleted. Through a detailed cell cycle analysis after spliceosome depletion, we demonstrate that the spliceosome is required for progression through multiple phases of the cell cycle. Strikingly, the specific cell cycle phenotype observed after spliceosome depletion correlates with the extent of depletion. Partial depletion of a core spliceosome component results in defects at later stages of the cell cycle (G2 and mitosis), whereas a more complete depletion of the same component elicits an early cell cycle arrest in G1. We propose a quantitative model in which different functional dosages of the spliceosome are required for different cell cycle transitions. 相似文献

Tissue activity of angiogenesis depends on the balance of many stimulating or inhibiting factors. The key signaling system that regulates proliferation and migration of endothelial cells forming the basis of any vessel are vascular endothelium growth factors (VEGF) and their receptors. The VEGF-dependent signaling system is necessary for formation of the embryonic vascular system. Neoangiogenesis during tumor growth is also associated with activation of this signaling system. The biological significance of the effect of such system on the cells depends on the content in tissue of various factors of the VEGF family and their receptors, while in the case of VEGFA it is defined by the ratio of different isoforms of this growth factor. A number of other signaling systems are also involved in regulation of the main steps of vessel formation. The signaling system Dll4/Notch regulates selection of endothelial cells for beginning of angiogenic expansion by endowing particular properties to endothelial cells leading in this process. An important step in vessel stabilization and maturation is vascular wall formation. Signaling system PDGFB/PDGFRbeta as well as angiopoietins Ang1, Ang2, and their receptor Tie2 are involved in recruiting mural cells (pericytes and smooth muscle cells). Identification of key molecules involved in the regulation of angiogenesis may provide new possibilities for development of drugs suitable for inhibition of angiogenesis or its stimulation in various pathologies. 相似文献

The genus Tettigonia includes 26 species distributed in the Palaearctic region. Though the Green Bush-crickets are widespread in Europe and common in a variety of habitats throughout the Palaearctic ecozone, the genus is still in need of scientific attention due to the presence of a multitude of poorly explored taxa. In the present study, we sought to clarify the evolutionary relationships of Green Bush-crickets and the composition of taxa occurring in the Western Palaearctic. Based on populations from 24 disjunct localities, the phylogeny of the group was estimated using sequences of the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) and the internal transcribed spacers 1 and 2 (ITS1 and ITS2). Morphological and acoustic variation documented for the examined populations and taxa was interpreted in the context of phylogenetic relationships inferred from our genetic analyses. The trees generated in the present study supported the existence of three main lineages: “A”—composed of all sampled populations of Tettigonia viridissima and the Tettigonia vaucheriana complex, “B”—comprising Tettigonia caudata, Tettigonia uvarovi, and the Tettigonia armeniaca complex, and “C”—consisting of Tettigonia cantans. The present study provides the first phylogenetic foundation for reviewing the systematics of Tettigonia (currently classified mostly according to morphological characteristics), proposing seven new synonymies. 相似文献

The structure of primary polytene chromosomes and general architecture of nurse cell nuclei was studied in Calliphora erythrocephala using various methods of differential chromosome banding(G-, R-, C-banding; Ag- and DAPI staining), chromospecific DNA probes and fluorescence in situ hybridization. This analysis revealed differential compaction of particular chromosome regions. The localization of material of polytene chromosome 6 is retained after its rearrangement and the formation of the internal reticular structure of the nucleus. Polytene chromosomes of ovarian nurse cells were shown to have blocks of dense compact material; some of them were more intensely stained by AgNO3. The dynamics of the nucleolus formation was traces at all stages of chromosome polytenization in the C. erythrocephala nurse cells. 相似文献

Comparative chromosomal analysis is a powerful tool in the investigation of the mechanisms of chromosomal evolution. The accuracy of the analysis depends on the availability of region-specific markers to follow the fate of the particular chromosomal region through the evolution of species. We have assigned 12 unique sequences to the euchromatic part of the vole X chromosome, which serve as reliable markers of chromosomal segments. Together with region-specific libraries and GTG banding, these markers allow us to delineate the homologous regions of the X chromosomes in five species of the genus Microtus. We found that X chromosomes of these species differ by numerous rearrangements and all rearrangements are clustered at specific breakpoints. Moreover, these breakpoints were found to colocalise with repetitive and/or duplicated DNA sequences. We suggest that clusters of repeated and/or duplicated DNA sequences have played a crucial role in the formation of rearrangement hot spots during evolution of the X chromosome in the subgenus Microtus. 相似文献

FISH analysis of B chromosome repetitive DNA distribution in A and B chromosomes of two subspecies of Podisma sapporensis (P. s. sapporensis and P. s. krylonensis) was performed. In the B chromosomes, C-positive regions contained homologous DNA repeats present also in some C-positive A chromosome regions. Most C-negative regions contained DNA repeats characteristic of A chromosome euchromatic regions. The two subspecies analyzed differed in the location of A chromosome regions enriched with repeats homologous to repeats of B chromosomes. The only common region enriched with these B chromosome repeats in both subspecies was the X chromosome pericentromeric region. The origin of B chromosomes in P. sapporensis is discussed. 相似文献

Musical accompaniment (of different styles and intensities) of the solution of mathematical logical tasks influenced the time required for their solution. Classical music 35 and 65 dB and rock music 65 and 85 dB in terms of loudness decreased the time of the solution. Louder classical music (85 dB) did not have this effect. Solution of tasks without musical accompaniment led to an increase in coherent values, especially in ??1, ??2, and ?? the frequency bands in the EEG of the occipital cortex. The intrahemispheric and interhemispheric coherences of frontal EEG increased and EEG asymmetry (in the number of Coh connections in the left and right hemispheres) arose during the solution of the tasks accompanied by music. Classical music (35 and 65 dB) caused left-side asymmetry in the EEG. The use of more powerful classical or rock music led to a prevalence of the number of Coh connections in the right hemisphere. 相似文献

In the sensorimotor cortex of rabbits with a hidden focus of excitation in the CNS, the firing rate of neurons that responded to light was significantly lower (p = 0.01) than the firing rate of neurons that did not respond to light. The same phenomenon was observed in the visual cortex of intact rabbits. Both in intact rabbits and animals with the hidden focus of excitation, 36% of neurons in the sensorimotor responded to a nonspecific for them light stimulation. In the sensorimotor cortex of rabbits with the hidden focus of excitation, more (p = 0.01) neurons responded to light with the latency lower that 100 ms and less (p = 0.02) neurons responded to light with the latency from 200 to 300 ms as compared to intact animals. In the visual cortex of rabbits with the hidden excitation focus, less (p = 0.01) neurons responded to light stimulation with the latency from 50 to 100 ms as compared to intact rabbits. 相似文献
