Measurements of high voltage across the vacuum diode of a high-current generator by using photoneutron reactions

A new method is proposed for measuring the voltage across the vacuum diode of a high-current generator by determining the high-energy edge of bremsstrahlung from an electron beam with the help of photoneutron reactions. The method is approved in the RS-20 facility with a plasma opening switch. The results obtained by using this technique are in good agreement with the data from electrotechnical measurements.     

Therapeutic plasmapheresis using a cell separator

For the purpose of improving disturbances of the immunosystem 188 plasmaphereses were carried out in 64 patients. Immunochemical properties of immunoglobulin G conjugated with dextran

Antigen-binding activity and effector functions of immunoglobulin G from horse and rabbit sera have been investigated, using hemagglutination, kinetic immune lysis, immune lysis in microplates and rosette-forming test with peritoneal mononuclear cells of mice, after their conjugation with dextran, MW 35-50 kD. The formation of conjugates of two types has been demonstrated: protein-dextran and protein-dextran-protein. It has been revealed that protein-dextran-protein conjugates have high specific antigen-binding activity, as compared to native IgG from rabbit sera specific for SRBC, while interactions with the complement system and Fc receptors is depressed.

The use of solid-phase liposomal immunoassay for determining a bacterial antigen of lipopolysaccharide nature]

The solid-phase liposomal immunoassay procedure for the determination of Francisella tularensis lipopolysaccharide (LPS) has been developed. This assay has been made with the use of monolayer liposomes, on the average, 360 nm in diameter with their phospholipid bilayer modified with F. tularensis LPS and their internal space filled with calcein used as fluorescent marker. The assay is based on the principle of the competitive immunosorption of liposomes and antigenic LPS on the surface of polystyrene plates sensitized with specific monoclonal antibodies. The dynamic range of the method is 50-2,500 mg/ml, the variation index being 2.3-11.5%. Optimization of this method and its comparison with the enzyme immunoassay system for the given antigen-antibody pair has been made.     

Parameters of the Body's Provision with Riboflavin and Activity of Glutathione Reductase in Residents of the European North of Russia

The provision of residents of the European North of Russia with vitamin B ₂ (riboflavin (RBF)) and the activity of the erythrocytic RBF-dependent enzyme glutathione reductase (EC 1.6.4.2) were studied. The subjects of the study, 2725 residents of Arkhangel'sk oblast, completed a detailed form that included questions about their nutrition and eating habits, lifestyle and occupation, use of alcohol, and family history, along with a self-appraisal and an assessment of psychological status. in residents of the European North of juvenile and senile age The provision with RBF showed a tendency toward a decrease as compared to other age groups of the population. In men, the activity of glutathione reductase was higher than in women in the same age groups. The parameters of provision with RBF were correlated significantly with the level of physical activity, alcohol status, and season of the year.
