Multiple forms of acid phosphatase of the mould Aspergillus awamori str. 22]

By isoelectric focusing and DEAE-cellulose and Sephadex G-150 chromatography it has been shown that extracellular acid phosphatase produced by Aspergillus awamori str. 22 exists as a mixture of oligomers of molecular weights ranging from 30,000 to 140,000. With an increase of aggregation of molecules of acid phosphatase the isoelectric point increases from 4.6 to 5.4.     

The dynamics of the electrical activity of the forebrain structures in rats in the waking-sleep cycle after electrostimulations of the emotiogenic zones in the lateral hypothalamic area]

One series of ES (multiple priming) of emotion-positive zone (1) ore the ambivalent zone (2) of lateral hypothalamus (LH) during one hour in Wistar male rats resulted in disorders of the W-S cycle: reduction of deep slow-wave sleep down to about 4.7% (zone 1) and down to 0.9% (zone 2), as well as a considerable reduction of REM sleep down to 0.8% (zone 1). The results of the analysis of bioelectrical brain activity dynamics in the W-S cycle suggest that hyperactivation of emotiogenic zones generated by ES is responsible for the establishment of paroxysmal states corresponding to the second and the third stages of kindling and the disorders of the W-S cycle. Kindling is assumed to form due to emotiogenic zones of the brain involved in to this process. The longer bursts of hypersynchronous bioelectrical activity in the cortex than in the subcortical structures during transient stages of sleep may be in favour of more active participation of phylogenetically younger brain structures in the process of epileptogenesis.     

Stress signaling between human lymphocytes after induction of bystander effect by exposure to ionizing radiation in adaptive doses

We previously reported that the consequence of human lymphocytes irradiation by the adaptive doses (X-rays, 10 cGy) was a transposition of the homologous chromosome loci in the cell nucleus (FISH method); this phenomenon was mediated by the increase of nucleolus activity. They both are transmited to non-irradiated cells by the bystander effect (BE). We shown that the reaction of stress signaling is induced by the DNA fragments of irradiated lymphocytes. The study shows that after the inhibition of caspase 3 activity in irradiating lymphocytes or the blockade TLR9 in bystander cells the transposition was not observed. A signaling way of BE from irradiated lymphocytes apoptosis to bystander cells receptors is discussing.     

Human extracorporeal fertilization with subsequent successful embryo implantation and the birth of a child

With the aim to use a previously elaborated method of extracorporeal fertilization of human ova for treating sterility, resulted from obstruction or absence of the uterine tubes, ova were obtained at laparoscopy after a previous hormonal stimulation of women. From 119 women 159 ova were obtained. Fertilization of the ova was performed in the medium Ham F-10 previously capacitated with the husband's spermatozoa. Fertilization rate was 66%. Embryos at the stage of 2-8 blastomeres were implanted transcervically into the uterine cavity with a special catheter. The embryo transfer was performed in 37 women with tubular infecundity. Menoschesis up to 3 weeks was noted in 5 women. In one woman on the 35th day after implantation, by means of hormonal-biological reaction and ultrasound investigation, pregnancy was diagnosed, it terminated in timely birth of a boy with body mass 3,500 gr. A conclusion was made that the main cause of failures at the embryo transfer was an inadequate preparation of the uterine mucosa (resulted from the main disease) to accept the fertilized ovum.     

Erythrophagocytosis and pigment cells of the amphibian liver]

The ultrastructure of Kupffer liver cells of adult frogs collected in winter and Kupffer cells during amphibian metamorphosis when larval red cells are replaced by adult red cells were investigated. It was revealed that Kupffer cells of the animals investigated had very large size and consisted of either the whole senescent erythrocyte or many phagosomes with small electron dense granules resembling ferritin. Phagosomes are oriented among numerous vesicular and vermiform profiles of agranular endoplasmic reticulum and big Golgi complex. Comparing our morphologic evidence with data of the literature that granules of melanin are synthesized and localized in frog liver Kupffer cells, we came to conclusion that pigment cells were formed as a result of erythrophagocytosis and therefore they were the depo of catabolism products. The comparison of functions of melano-macrophage centers of fish liver and of pigment cells of amphibia liver were discussed.     

Changes in the kinetics of rabbit thymus DNA re-association in various time periods after gamma-irradiation

A distinction has been detected in the kinetic curves of the control and in vivo irradiated DNA at the site of the reassociation of moderate and unique genome fractions. This distinction increased with increasing Cot. It was shown that the thermostability decreased and the profiles of DNA duplex thermoelution changed in irradiated rabbits as compared with intact ones.     

Correlation between the species radiosensitivity of animals and concentration of AT-rich sequences in DNA

The authors have revealed a positive and statistically significant correlation between the sum of T-"pure" and T-rich pyrimidine DNA clusters and radiosensitivity of animals of different species. It was demonstrated that the share of a DNA fraction rich in AT-pairs and denaturing within the temperature range from 55 to 75 degrees increases with increasing specific radiosensitivity of animals.
