N-Hydroxythiosemicarbazide was prepared by two methods starting from 2,4-dimethoxy benzyl amine and hydroxylamine hydrochloride, which in turn was reacted with various aldehydes and ketones to obtain the titled compounds. Eighteen compounds were tested for their in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv using the agar dilution method. Compound 10p was found to be the most potent compound (MIC: 0.28 microM) and was 2.5 times more active than standard isoniazid. 相似文献

Lipoprotein(a) immune complexes [Lp(a) IC] of varying particle density obtained by ultracentrifugation of plasma from normal healthy donors were markedly dominated by IgG. Lp(a) and immunoglobulins were liberated from plasma Lp(a) IC by treatment with melibiose, a sugar specific for circulating anti-α-galactoside antibody (anti-Gal). Upon incubation with plasma lipoprotein fraction anti-Gal but not the α-glucoside-specific antibody from human plasma formed de novo IC with Lp(a). Binding of Lp(a) sugar-reversibly enhanced the fluorescence of FITC-labeled anti-Gal as did binding of α-galactoside-containing glycoproteins. This effect apparently due to conformational shift in the Fc region of the antibody was also produced by apo(a) subunit separated from Lp(a) and de-O–glycosylated apo(a) but not by any other plasma lipoproteins or by Lp(a) pre-incubated with the O–glycan-specific lectin jacalin. O–Glycans and their terminal sialic acid moieties in apo(a) of circulating Lp(a)-anti-Gal IC, in contrast to those in pure Lp(a), were inaccessible to jacalin and anion exchange resin, respectively. Unlike other plasma lipoproteins, Lp(a) inhibited Griffonia simplicifolia isolectin B4 which also accommodates serine- and threonine-rich peptide sequence (STPS) as surrogate ligand to α-galactosides at its binding site. Results suggest that anti-Gal recognizes STPS in the O-glycan-rich regions of apo(a) subunit in Lp(a) which contains no α-linked galactose. 相似文献

Clostridium indolis DSM 755T is a bacterium commonly found in soils and the feces of birds and mammals. Despite its prevalence, little is known about the ecology or physiology of this species. However, close relatives, C. saccharolyticum and C. hathewayi, have demonstrated interesting metabolic potentials related to plant degradation and human health. The genome of C. indolis DSM 755T reveals an abundance of genes in functional groups associated with the transport and utilization of carbohydrates, as well as citrate, lactate, and aromatics. Ecologically relevant gene clusters related to nitrogen fixation and a unique type of bacterial microcompartment, the CoAT BMC, are also detected. Our genome analysis suggests hypotheses to be tested in future culture based work to better understand the physiology of this poorly described species. 相似文献

Abundance of potentially pathogenic micro-organisms in Penaeus monodon larvae rearing systems in India 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Monodon baculovirus (MBV), external fouling organisms (EFO) and bacteria (especially Vibrio species) were monitored during 1996–1997 at nine different Penaeus monodon rearing hatcheries in India. Total cultivable heterotrophic bacteria, Vibrio-like-bacteria, presumptive Vibrio harveyi, Vibrio anguillarum, Vibrio vulnificus counts were determined from shrimp eggs, post larvae, rearing tank water, source sea water, feed (Artemia nauplii and microencapsulated feed). The MBV infected post larvae and their environment showed higher Vibrio-like-bacteria than uninfected post larvae. An over-whelming predominance of presumptive Vibrio harveyi and Vibrio anguillarum was observed in post larval rearing tank water, MBV infected and uninfected post larvae. Vibrio-like-bacteria in Artemia nauplii clearly showed the possible source of these pathogenic bacteria in the hatchery environments. Quantitative analysis of Vibrio-like-bacteria in hatcheries revealed that when the Vibrio-like-bacteria increases to 2 × 102 CFU mortality of the post larvae occurs. Abundance of these micro-organisms in hatchery samples indicated that they are opportunistic pathogens which can invade the shrimp tissue, subsequently cause disease when the post larvae were under stressful conditions. 相似文献

Runella slithyformis Larkin and Williams 1978 is the type species of the genus Runella, which belongs to the Cytophagaceae, a family that was only recently classified to the order Cytophagales in the class Cytophagia. The species is of interest because it is able to grow at temperatures as low as 4°C. This is the first completed genome sequence of a member of the genus Runella and the sixth sequence from the family Cytophagaceae. The 6,919,729 bp long genome consists of a 6.6 Mbp circular genome and five circular plasmids of 38.8 to 107.0 kbp length, harboring a total of 5,974 protein-coding and 51 RNA genes and is a part of the Genomic Encyclopedia of Bacteria and Archaea project. 相似文献

Marinithermus hydrothermalis Sako et al. 2003 is the type species of the monotypic genus Marinithermus. M. hydrothermalis T1(T) was the first isolate within the phylum "Thermus-Deinococcus" to exhibit optimal growth under a salinity equivalent to that of sea water and to have an absolute requirement for NaCl for growth. M. hydrothermalis T1(T) is of interest because it may provide a new insight into the ecological significance of the aerobic, thermophilic decomposers in the circulation of organic compounds in deep-sea hydrothermal vent ecosystems. This is the first completed genome sequence of a member of the genus Marinithermus and the seventh sequence from the family Thermaceae. Here we describe the features of this organism, together with the complete genome sequence and annotation. Saprospira grandis Gross 1911 is a member of the Saprospiraceae, a family in the class 'Sphingobacteria' that remains poorly characterized at the genomic level. The species is known for preying on other marine bacteria via 'ixotrophy'. S. grandis strain Sa g1 was isolated from decaying crab carapace in France and was selected for genome sequencing because of its isolated location in the tree of life. Only one type strain genome has been published so far from the Saprospiraceae, while the sequence of strain Sa g1 represents the second genome to be published from a non-type strain of S. grandis. Here we describe the features of this organism, together with the complete genome sequence and annotation. The 4,495,250 bp long Improved-High-Quality draft of the genome with its 3,536 protein-coding and 62 RNA genes is a part of the Genomic Encyclopedia of Bacteria and Archaea project. 相似文献
