Material from as many species of the cestode genus Eubothrium as could be obtained (six out of nine existing species), from a range of hosts and from both marine and freshwater habitats, were examined both by light and scanning electron microscopy. The scolex shape as seen with SEM turned out to be a very valuable specific character. Particular attention was also paid to the possibility that intra-specific races, distinguishable on biological criteria, might in addition exhibit characteristic morphological differences.  相似文献

The structural pattern inherent in the genealogy of the Old Testament is delineated (1). Correlating this structural pattern with the worldview of Ancient Israel, it is hypothesized that the genealogy functions as a model for the resolution of certain conflicts within the worldview (II). The scolex morphology of some Proteocephalus species from fish caught in fresh and brackish waters in Norway, as revealed by scanning and transmission electron microscopy and light microscopy, is described. The size and form of the fifth apical sucker proved to be a very pure character for identification. In spite of this, however, the scoleces of different species revealed specific characters which together with strobilar characters should be well suited for species discrimination and identification.  相似文献
