Summary The rat median eminence contains at least three kinds of granules or vesicles: 1. large electron-dense granules (perhaps carriers of neurohypophysial hormones), 2. small electron-dense granules with or without haloes (perhaps carriers of catecholamines) and 3. synaptic vesicle-like structures (perhaps carriers of acetylcholine). The former two electrondense granules exist in separate axons but they coexist with the latter vesicles in the same axons.The pars nervosa shows basically a similar structure to the median eminence. However, the axons containing the small electron-dense granules are very few. In the pars tuberalis, there are at least two types of cells: the cells of one type contain much cytoplasm with large round nuclei and those of the other type contain a small amount of cytoplasm with polymorphic nuclei. The cells of the former include multivesicular bodies and secretory granules, but those of the latter do not. Some of capillaries of the primary plexus are surrounded by the cells of the pars tuberalis on one side and by neurosecretory axon endings on the other side.The median eminence contains high concentration of acetylcholine or an acetylcholine-like substance and shows neurohypophysial hormone activity.Aided by Grant A-3678 from the United States National Institute of Arthritis and Metabolic Diseases. We compared the removal by solution, the represented count-area method and the beating, for the purpose of estimating the number of the Cryptomeria red mite. Among them the solution procedure provided the smallest standard error as per cent of the mean. 0.25 per cent unheated solution of sodium hydroxide is used for the summer generation, and also 0.25 per cent boiling one for the winter eggs. The mean proportion removed±standard error for the summer eggs and the winter eggs were 0.8770±0.0316 and 0.7920±0.0281 respectively, while 0.9894±0.0050 for the mites.  相似文献

Trihydroxy and tetrahydroxy bile acid metabolites substituted at the C-1 or C-6 position were studied using the urine, serum and liver tissue from sixteen patients with cholestatic liver diseases. Following extraction, isolation and hydrolysis, bile acids were converted into the dimethylethylsilyl derivatives and assayed by capillary gas chromatography—mass spectrometry. Five 1β-hydroxylated bile acids, viz. 1β,3α,12α-trihydroxy-, 1β,3α,7β-trihydroxy-1, 1β,3α,7α,12α-tetrahydroxy-5β-cholanoic acids and an epimer of the first compound, and two 6α-hydroxylated bile acids, viz. 3α,6α,7α-trihydroxy-, 3α,6α,7α,12α-tetrahydroxy-5β-cholanoic acids, were completely or partially identified. Large amounts of 1β-hydroxylated and 6α-hydroxylated bile acids were found in the urine, whereas only trace amounts were detected in the serum and liver tissue. These findings indicate that altered metabolism, such as 1β- or 6α-hydroxylation of bile acids, is enhanced in cholestasis, and that the resulting hydroxylated metabolites are eliminated in the urine.  相似文献

The ample supply of O2 proved to be of great importance for berberine production in cell suspension culture ofThalictrum minus, as the specific O2 consumption rate of berberine-producing cells was twice as high as that of non-producing cells. Furthermore, berberine yield increased with increases in the volumetric O2 transfer coefficient (KLa). Estimation of the optimum conditions of oxygen supply in suspension cultures and immobilized cells according to a known theoretical model assuming O2 uptake by cells to be a zero-order reaction was in good agreement with the experimental data. The O2 supply to immobilized cells could be improved by reducing the cell density and radius of the bead.  相似文献
