The luminescence of obelin is initiated by NaOCl in a reaction mixture containing no calcium. The addition of Mn2+ enhances the light emission >300-fold. Sodium azide and histidine, as singlet oxygen quenchers, inhibit NaOCl-activated obelin luminescence in the presence or absence of Mn2+. This suggests that the addition of NaOCI to the mixture causes singlet oxygen formation (stimulated by Mn2+ ions), and singlet oxygen initiates the light-emitting reaction.  相似文献

Metabolic side effects of antipsychotic drugs can have serious health consequences and may increase mortality. Although persons with schizophrenia often take these drugs for a long time, their mid- to long-term metabolic effects have been studied little so far. This study aimed to evaluate the mid- to long-term metabolic side effects of 31 antipsychotics in persons with schizophrenia by applying a random-effects Bayesian network meta-analysis. We searched the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group's Study-Based Register of Trials (up to April 27, 2020) and PubMed (up to June 14, 2021). We included published and unpublished, open and blinded randomized controlled trials with a study duration >13 weeks which compared any antipsychotic in any form of administration with another antipsychotic or with placebo in participants diagnosed with schizophrenia. The primary outcome was weight gain measured in kilograms. Secondary outcomes included “number of participants with weight gain”, fasting glucose, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides. We identified 137 eligible trials (with 35,007 participants) on 31 antipsychotics, with a median follow-up of 45 weeks. Chlorpromazine produced the most weight gain (mean difference to placebo: 5.13 kg, 95% credible interval, CrI: 1.98 to 8.30), followed by clozapine (4.21 kg, 95% CrI: 3.03 to 5.42), olanzapine (3.82 kg, 95% CrI: 3.15 to 4.50), and zotepine (3.87 kg, 95% CrI: 2.14 to 5.58). The findings did not substantially change in sensitivity and network meta-regression analyses, although enriched design, drug company sponsorship, and the use of observed case instead of intention-to-treat data modified the mean difference in weight gain to some extent. Antipsychotics with more weight gain were often also among the drugs with worse outcome in fasting glucose and lipid parameters. The confidence in the evidence ranged from low to moderate. In conclusion, antipsychotic drugs differ in their propensity to induce metabolic side effects in mid- to long-term treatment. Given that schizophrenia is often a chronic disorder, these findings should be given more consideration than short-term data in drug choice.  相似文献

By an improved isolation procedure chloroplasts could be obtained from the alga Bumilleriopsis filiformis (Xanthophyceae) which exhibited high electron transport rates tightly coupled to ATP formation. Uncouplers both stimulate electron transport and inhibit photophosphorylation. These chloroplasts retain almost all soluble cytochrome c-553 besides a membrane-bound cytochrome c-554.5 (=f-554.5). Sonification or iron deficiency removed the soluble cytochrome only with a concurrent decrease of electron transport from water to methyl viologen or to NADP and decreased non-cyclic and cyclic photophosphorylation. However, photosynthetic control and the P2e ratios remain unaltered.In Bumilleriopsis, which apparently has no plastocyanin, the soluble cytochrome c-553 seemingly links electron transport between the bound cytochrome c and P-700.  相似文献

Based on a survey of 36 inbred and 8 partially inbred chicken lines and outbred jungle fowl, and with 29 alloantisera generated in different laboratories, 13 7S Ig and 5 IgM allotypes were designated and a new system of nomenclature for chicken Ig polymorphisms was developed. The survey also revealed considerable genetic polymorphism in the structural gene(s) (G-1) responsible for the production of 7S Ig H chains. IgM H chains, encoded by theM-1 locus were less polymorphic. NineG-1 and fourM-1 gene alleles were delineated in highly inbred lines by the formation of unique combinations ofG-1 orM-1 specificities. Five additionalG-1 alleles were found in chicken lines and jungle fowl segregating for allotypes. Thirty-three percent of theG-1M-1 haplotypes theoretically expected, were detected in inbred lines.  相似文献

Summary A procedure for the large-scale isolation of leucyl-tRNA synthetase from E. coli MRE 600 is described: The enzyme was purified about 320-fold to homogeneity by precipitation with cetyl-trimethyl-ammonium bromide, two consecutive chromatographies on DEAE-cellulose and three on hydroxyapatite with an over-all yield of 4%.The molecular weight of leucyl-tRNA synthetase from E. coli MRE 600 was found to be 99 000 daltons. Binding studies by ultracentrifugation and equilibrium partition showed that the enzyme binds leucine, leucyl-adenylate and tRNALeu, each in a 1 : 1 stoichiometry. For ATP only a very weak binding to the enzyme could be observed, which did not allow the evaluation of the complex stoichiometry. The presence of ATP was not required for the binding of leucine or tRNA to leucyl-tRNA synthetase from E. coli MRE 600.  相似文献

The dinitrophenyl-derivative of N-glycylglucosamine was isolated from partially hydrolyzed dinitrophenylated cell walls of Halococcus morrhuae CCM 859. To increase the yield of amino-terminal glycine residues, halococcal cell walls were treated with alkali or acid prior to dinitrophenylation. Authentic N-glycyl-glucosamine was used as a reference substance. A substitution of the amino group of glucosamine by an amino acid has so far not been found in any other wall of a pro- or eucaryotic cell. Since only 5% of the glycine residues reveal an unsubstituted carboxyl group within intact cell walls, glycine may play a role in connecting glycan strands through peptidic linkages between the amino group of glucosamine and the carboxyl group of an uronic acid or gulosaminuronic acid.Abbreviations DNP dinitrophenyl  相似文献

Scar rings (SR) from scarless cells at the early stages of budding and mature bud scars from Saccharomyces cerevisiae isolated by both chemical and enzymic treatment of cell walls were observed by selected-area electron diffraction (SAED), X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy with simultaneous physico-chemical characterization (including molar mass, intrinsic viscosity and crystallite size) of -chitin and glucan. The SR, composed of glucan with strong 0.608; 0.397 and 0.293 nm X-ray reflections, was formed at the start of budding. The SAED patterns of -chitin both in the adjacent circular zone and in the parts of newly formed primary septum (PS), observed when the development of the PS started, did not differ from those of -chitin in the single mature bud scar. Poly(A)-containing RNA was isolated from rat liver microsomes and from the post-microsomal supernatant fraction. Approximately 15% of total rat liver poly(A)-containing RNA was found to be present in the post-microsomal supernatant. The relative capacity for apoferritin synthesis of each poly(A)-containing RNA preparation was measured in a cell-free system derived from wheat germ. The post-microsomal supernatant fraction was found to be highly enriched with ferritin mRNA and accounted for 40–50% of the total ferritin-mRNA present in the cytoplasm of rat liver.  相似文献
