The course of biosynthesis of fatty acids in the seeds of winter rape (Brassica napus L. ssp.oleifera, f.biennis cv. T?ebí?ská) was investigated. After the termination of flowering seed samples were taken at five intervals, the seeds were divided into 4 fractions according to size, and their weight, water content, oil content and fatty acid composition were determined. The oil content was found to increase in all size categories with time, with the exception of a minute drop when complete maturity is reached. Larger seeds contained more oil. The fatty acid composition changes with time in the individual size fractions almost continuously. The same holds for differences between seed sizes of the same sample. The main change in oil composition consists in the decrease of C18 acids in favour of C22 acids. Greatest decrements during maturation were found with oleic acid, less with linoleic acid. In absolute amounts the quantity of all synthesized acids rises, the greatest rise being observed with C22 acids (i.e. predominantly erucic acid). It follows from the mean rates of synthesis of the individual groups (C16, C18, C20, C22) of fatty acids that the fraction of C22 rate of synthesis increases, while that of the C18 acids decreases with the same speed. The results indicate that the fatty acid synthesis is most intense during the second half of seed maturation, the main role being played by accelerating the synthesis of higher acids, especially of erucic acid.  相似文献

In our present work the formation of chromosome aberrations has been studied in dependence on the tima interval between sonication and fixation of the primary root tips of Vicia faba. Maximum occurrence of aberrations was recorded immediately after sonication. The results of our experiments pointed to the fact that the frequency of the induced changes was independent on the sonic waves intensity within the range of 0-2—3-0 W/cm2 and on ultrasond treatment duration within the range of 1—20 min. Studies of the distribution of chromosome abnormalities caused by ultrasound between the large and small chromosomes of theVicia faba meristematic cells in various time intervals showed that the frequency of the aberrations in both chromosome groups was proportional to its total metaphase lengths. Analysis of the type of aberrations observed in various time intervals after sonication indicated the simultaneous formation of chromosome and chromatide abnormalities.  相似文献

1. Lipoproteins were measured in sera from 11 young women having a similar environment and diet. Sera were obtained at weekly intervals over a 12-week period. The values of the lipoproteins during periods in the normal ovulatory cycle were compared to assess their relation to reported hormone concentrations in blood. 2. Only the 4–0sf (HDL2) (d 1·125 sodium chloride) fraction changed significantly; it increased at ovulation in ten of the 11 subjects and fell as menstruation approached. 3. There was greater variability in most of the low-density rather than the high-density lipoproteins within individuals. The lipoprotein class most characteristic for an individual was the 4–0sf or HDL2 fraction.  相似文献

Three distinct states of the formyl peptide receptor have been described. These are: 1) the ternary complex of ligand, receptor, and G protein (LRG); 2) the rapidly dissociating occupied receptor (ligand-receptor complex (LR]; and 3) a desensitized slowly dissociating guanine nucleotide-insensitive receptor (desensitized ligand-receptor complex ("LRX"]. During cell activation there is a rapid interconversion among receptor states from a rapidly dissociating form (t 1/2 approximately 10 s) to a slowly dissociating form (t 1/2 greater than or equal to 2 min). Neither the dynamics of the states nor their interconversion is influenced by ribosylation of G protein in the presence of pertussis toxin. In contrast to ribosylation, treatment of cells with either 2-deoxyglucose or fluoride ion, both of which lead to a loss of adenine and guanine nucleotides, causes a time-dependent change in ligand dissociability. After short periods of treatment (5-15 min) rapid dissociation is observed; after longer times (30-60 min), slow dissociation is once again detected. When intact cells are first ribosylated and then energy-depleted, only a rapidly dissociating receptor is detected. These results are discussed in terms of a model with the following elements: 1) intact cell dynamics during cell activation are dominated by an energy-dependent interconversion from LR to LRX; 2) under activation conditions, LRG appears and disappears too rapidly to be detected; 3) in cells depleted of energy and guanine nucleotide, LRG is stabilized; 4) in cells both ribosylated and depleted of energy, LR is stabilized.  相似文献

Sensory interaction and sensory adaptation in short- and long-lasting space flights (SF) and the dynamics of stability of adaptive shifts were studied by the phenomenology of spontaneous and visually induced illusory reactions. It was shown that perceptive impairment developed during the initial adaptation to microgravity should be considered regular reactions of sensory systems under given environmental conditions rather than special features of the individuals examined. The classification of spontaneous illusory reactions (SIR) under conditions of microgravity and the results of investigation of the vertical vection (vection is a visual illusion evoked by the optokinetic stimulation) are presented. The following previously unknown phenomena were registered for the first time: inversion of the vertical vection illusion (VVI) evoked by vertical and sinusoidal optokinetic stimulation, impairment of perception of the body schema during VVI, change in the character of VVI, and development of VVI asymmetry. During long-lasting existence under conditions of weightlessness the anomalous perceptive reactions continued to be registered episodically (the period of adaptation was replaced by that of deadaptation). Algorithms predicting RNA secondary structures based on different folding criteria – minimum free energies (mfe), kinetic folding (kin), maximum matching (mm) – and different parameter sets are studied systematically. Two base pairing alphabets were used: the binary GC and the natural four-letter AUGC alphabet. Computed structures and free energies depend strongly on both the algorithm and the parameter set. Statistical properties, such as mean number of base pairs, mean numbers of stacks, mean loop sizes, etc., are much less sensitive to the choice of parameter set and even of algorithm. Some features of RNA secondary structures, such as structure correlation functions, shape space covering and neutral networks, seem to depend only on the base pairing logic (GC or AUGC alphabet).
