Phosphates of all-Z- and 3-demethyl-tri-trans, di-cis-hexaprenols have been prepared and studied as substrates for enzymes of the Salmonella anatum O-specific polysaccharide biosynthesis. Methyl group in alpha-isoprenic unit proved to be essential for the enzyme-substrate interaction, whereas the presence of E-isoprenic units near the omega-end of the polyprenol is not significant.  相似文献

Phospholipid fractions were isolated from the cells of Bacillus brevis var. G.-B. variants, some, of which produced gramicidin S and some did not. As was found by thin layer chromatography, phosphatidyl ethanolamine predominated in the fraction of phospholipids. Interaction of the isolated phospholipids with gramicidin S in vitro resulted in a loss of the antibiotic activity. Presumably, formation of a complex between the polypeptide and phospholipids may decrease the actual concentration of gramicidin S in cells producing the antibiotic.  相似文献

A study was made of the chromatin structure of mature sperm cells from healthy males aged 25 to 40 using fluorescent microscopy and acridine orange staining according to the DNP cell thermal denaturation technique modified by the authors. It was shown that normal human sperm cell chromatin melting profiles represent uniform curves with maxima in the following temperature ranges: 43 (+/- 2) degrees, 55 (+/- 1) degrees, 67 (+/- 2) degrees, 77 (+/- 1) degrees, 82 (+/- 0.5) degrees, 89 (+/- 1) degrees, 92 (+/- 2) degrees (P less than 0.01), that are identical to those obtained with lymphocytes of healthy males with certain deviations from the standard normal variant. No heteromorphism was revealed in the sperm cell chromatin. Marked polymorphism in the chromatin structure occurs but at the diploid cell level. A 10-time decrease in the fluorescence of AO bound with sperm cell chromatin as compared to F530 AO bound with lymphocyte chromatin structure of the same individual supports the data on the over condensation of sperm cell nuclear chromatin as compared to that in lymphocytes.  相似文献

The effect of the growth conditions and composition of the nutrient medium on the synthesis of cephalosporin C, alkaline exoproteases and cell differentiation was studied in various strains of Acremonium chrysogenum. It was observed that the changes in the above processes occurred simultaneously and depended on the aeration rate, temperature, illumination level and concentrations of methionine and soybean meal. Close correlation between the synthesis of alkaline exoproteases, cephalosporin C and formation of secondary structures in the strains of A. chrysogenum was shown.  相似文献

The transfer of lymphocytes together with sheep erythrocytes from partially hepatectomized mice to syngenous lethally irradiated mice (CAB and C57BL) increased the number of antibody forming cells in the recipient's spleen. The lymphocytes of CBA mice acquired this ability much earlier after the operation (in 4 hours) than those of the C57BL mice (in 17 hours). After the transfer of lymphocytes in the semisyngenous system there was a decrease of antibody forming cells during subsequent recipient's immunization with sheep erythrocytes; this was the result of the graft versus host reaction. The latter reaction was less marked in the operated than in control mice. These changes also occurred earlier after the operation in the CBA than in C57BL mice.  相似文献

The effect of n-propyl alcohol on biosynthesis of erythromycin and the dynamics of the precursor consumption were studied with the method of gas-liquid chromatography. It was shown that neither the optimal concentration of the precursor, nor its stimulating effect on different media correlated. n-Propyl alcohol was used not only for the antibiotic biosynthesis but also according to other metabolic path-ways and in addition its evaporation from the medium was registered. During the first period of the fermentation n-propyl alcohol suppressed the antibiotic biosynthesis.  相似文献
